Very cool project. Looks great and with the G12m sounds great too. All whiskey barrels are burned inside (charcoaled) it smoothes out the whiskey.

Possibly your best ever creation! Until we heard it😂 I wonder if there’s something that will give it back the low end or if that’s just something to do with it being round? Maybe a box within the cab?
    Great work, looks incredible!

I don’t think the barrel shape is what’s causing it to have no low end, you remember those bass tube or bazooka powered subwoofers for car stereos. The lack of bass is probably a combination of the open back ( I know cream backs are generally used in open back cabs or recommended) but also the wood used to make the barrel is porous the burnt wood and the “raw whiskey” seeping in and out of the wood while aged in the barrel gives it its color. Out of the still it’s white liquor or clear basically moonshine until proofed and aged in the barrels the barrel mellows and gives the whiskey it’s amber color because it’s constantly seeping in and out of the wood. In fact I’ve heard of people buying used barrels and filling them up a quarter of the way with water and laying them on their side in the sun and rolling the barrel to pull whiskey left in the wood ( devils cut ) and getting whiskey out of an “empty barrel “ all that to say those barrels are not made of of void free birch and aren’t exactly air tight so yeah it looks cool but probably not the best for a guitar cab. I’m sure you could seal the inside of the barrel with something maybe to improve its low end response or maybe not ? You might could make a really cool iso cab out of a whisky barrel though because it'd be stuffed and sealed with sound dampening materials ?
Or like you said a box made of a birch within the barrel and then you could just put your grill cloth over the open end of the barrel that could be really cool looking.

Do you have a link to the brass plates you used at the bottom of the legs? My dad left me a bourbon barrel and I’m going to make one of these.

You can find furniture feet at Home Depot or Lowe’s and probably Amazon just search furniture feet or couch feet and hardware and you should be able to find something or you could always just drill holes in wooden dowels and get some all thread and some nuts and lock washers and make your own. You can also scavenge for furniture feet if people put old furniture they are getting rid of out on the curb or alley around you you can get some pretty cool stuff for different projects like that as well and it’s free.
