Sense of humor is an icebreaker to show people that you are easygoing and approachable. That is a good nature and quality for any people especially politicians.
Maya gets Kamala's voice so perfectly. And I agree, it's a pretty complimentary portrayal. Hope Harris does go on SNL before the election.
SNL has made fun of every president since they started airing.
I like to think it is a good litmus test for their eligibility to be president.

I completely agree with you! I disagree with Howard. It’s that lightheartedness and ability to laugh at yourself in the midst of all the seriousness is what sets her apart from frumpy dumpy trumpy. The primary reason he ran for potus in the first place is because he’s a narcissistic self-absorbed person that can’t take a joke. We all remember the Correspondence dinner when President Obama made him turn red. We need and appreciate the lightheartedness and it’s much more relatable!

I agree with O''Neil: Anyone who can't accept being made fun of, or can't laugh at him/herself, should NOT go into, or anywhere near, politics. It is part of the American Way that we have the freedom to ridicule our leaders. Most of our successful late night entertainers have made their fame and fortune on political humor.
Howard, don’t worry about Kamala on SNL. She laughed and as long as she likes it’s ok. A normal person can laugh at themselves.its not normal to get upset about it. Trump has a lot of hot buttons, like his child sized hands, or when people leave his rally’s because he can’t keep a train of thought. I’d rather have a normal human in office than a narcissistic person with parent issues.

Her response was calm and genuine. Not a problem at all. I appreciate Howard Stern’s concern for the importance of the election but think the portrayal was funny and respectful and think it helps and not hurts.

I found it surprisingly sweet of Howard to say he didn't want her to be made fun of. 😮 Haven't seen that part of him before(personally).
As someone with a weird little parasocial relationship with Kamala I also feel protective of her when MAGA makes fun of her in a disgusting, sexist way. But I actually found the SNL skits very funny because I know it's a caricature and still overwhelmingly positive. It highlights her fun and relatable side.
There's also a hint of they put the criticizing parts like the "coup of Biden" in there in an exaggerated way. Which to me takes some of the 'power' out of it and adds to how ridiculous it sounds, because it is a joke🙄

Well, VP Harris (and her husband on Jennifer Hudson's show) didn't seem to mind, contrary to Howard Stern's reaction. I think it's refreshing to have someone not take themselves too seriously and aware of the nature of SNL and the actors' jobs, and have a good sense of humor unlike Harris' opponent complete with his so-called "Kubrick stare" of a mugshot which he took "taking [all] too seriously" too far down the gutters.
