One thing I just love in this episode is how Alastor clearly couldn't care less about being a father figure to Charlie and just wants to mess with her father, who's the KING OF HELL. The man just doesn't care.
I do think alastor is trying to become kind of a father figure. But not out of any sense of caring for her. Episode 7 spoilers In episode 7, in the song Ready for This, he sings about how charlie is madly powerful like her father and filled with potential that he could guide and how anyone who sticks with her will be on "the winning side"
I mean, it`s both. Alastor does genuinely care about Charlie and the hotel at this point but wants to preserve his reputation as a pure evil Eldritch horror of Hell but also is jealous of Lucifer and the other overlords and wants to one-up them at their own job whether it be punishing sinners, redeeming sinners or fatherhood!
nope he cares so he try to make lusifer upset because vivziepop clears that alaster has feel upset that lusifer is unavailable to beat so he use charli to aganst him
He doesn’t do it because he doesn’t care. He did it because he was probably scared of Lucifer coming back into Charlie’s life, since with Lucifer’s power, Charlie wouldn’t be reliant on Alastor anymore, and since he obviously has some plans involving Charlie, he probably didn’t want them to be ruined by Lucifer coming back.
I like that there's daddy issues but the dad isn't necessarily a bad guy. There's miscommunication, there's misunderstandings, and Lucifer is kind of a bit absent minded and doesn't listen very well, which may well be because of anxiety/depression, so it's partly his flaws as well. He also doesn't care about what Charlie cares about at first, and to Charlie it comes off like he doesn't care at all (even though he clearly adores her). Clearly he THOUGHT Charlie didn't wanna see him because his wife didn't, and Charlie THOUGHT her dad was doing well and just choosing NOT to talk to her because he puts on a show every time they talk. If you don't see his nervousness and only see how he presents himself with Charlie, he just comes off as a self-centred arrogant dickhead, but since we SEE how lonely he is and how much he LOVES Charlie it's different for the audience.
Based on that flashback in the song "More than anything", it seems like Lilith always separated Charlie from Lucifer which is why Charlie barely knows her father, as she grew up, she saw less and less of her dad and she was probably taught (by Lilith) to avoid Lucifer, and Lucifer probably respected Lilith's wishes and stayed out of Charlie's way causing Charlie to think that Lucifer "doesn't" want to see her so yes it may be a miscommunication.
I'm not sure if you knew, but there are actuslly 4 tiers of power in hell above alastor. At the very top is lucifer. Then right under are charlie and lilith(yes, Charlie is stronger than alastor if you didn't know). Then there are the 7 deadly sins(likely asmodeus, mammon, and beelzebub in helluva boss). Then theres the ars goetia(like stolas from helluva boss, who the creator has said would beat alastor). And then there are overlords like alastor
I honestly don't think charlie could beat alastor in a 1v1. She may have more power, but i don't think she's used to fighting and hasn't been able to unlock all of it yet.
@ExulInsani true. It's a similar case to when Finale spoilers Alastor fought adam. He was definitely weaker than Adam and on top of that, didn't use any angelic weapons. Nothing he did even hurt adam. But he was without a doubt more skilled than Adam. He was "winning" until adam released his powers that he can control, unlike charlie who hasn't unlocked hers fully
I really love how they depicted Lucifer in this show. Sure, He's sort of an anti-social goofball and doesn't have the best communication with Charlie, but regardless, he still loves her no matter what. You can tell Heaven's refusal of his original ideas and the way he was cast down into Hell deeply messed him up, and he doesn't want Charlie to suffer under the cruel wrath of Heaven. I truly loved Lucifer and Charlie's duet together, it was such a beautiful song and proclamation of how much they love each other and the voice actors for Charlie and Lucifer, Erika Henningson and Jeremy Jordan did an outstanding job. I also surprisingly loved the rivalry between Alastor and Lucifer over who's the better father figure to Charlie. The fact that Alastor barely curses in the show and saved his first F-bomb and said it straight to the King of Hell truly shows how much of a troll Alastor is, as he does not give a f*** how powerful someone is.
Lucifer is about the size of a normal human person.. ish. He's like 5'4". It's just that the other characters are VERY tall. His daughter and wife are about 6 and a half feet tall. Angel is like 8 feet, some others are 10 feet.. The creator made him the smallest of the sins as a form of irony. Because all the other more powerful demons in hell are these huge and intimidating beings and the strongest of all is this short silly man who doesn't need to look scary because he knows what he is. The creator once mentioned that she doesn't like to "give her characters everything" doesn't want them to be too "perfect". Lucifer has power, charm and likeability, so I guess she didn't want to make him tall too. XD
You probably wouldn't know it to look at him, but yes, this Lucifer could definitely obliterate any demon in hell, overlord or not. The only reason why he doesn't is because he chooses not to.
There’s this character called Roo, the root of evil, evil itself. You see her shadow at the start of episode 1 when they were talking about angels. I think that’s where he has his power from, but it wouldn’t make sense for roo to restrict him, as they need to be as strong and capable as possible to create more evil. So it is probably Lilith
I don't think Zestiel is strong enough and they were way too friendly and spoke like they were on equal footing for them to have a master-servant relationship
@@WhiteNoBeard471Yeah, Alastor is way too friendly with Zestial, and his opinion actually matters to Alastor. I'd say Lilith. That's why he's "helping" with the hotel, to keep an eye on what Charlie is doing
Few details 1 - No, alastor is nowhere near as powerful as lucifer. Lucifer is a fallen angel and thr king of hell, in fact Charlie is way above alastor too. Alastor is a overlord meaning hes below the Goetia family (stolas, stella etc), below the sins (Asmodeus, mammon beelzebub etc) and below the royal family (Lilith, Charlie and Lucifer) 2- If they are still going with this story, Alastor died when he was hiding a body in the forest, he was killed by a deer hunter who mistook him for a deer, thats why he ended up in hell like a deer. 3- Mimzy is a very old design from vivziepop and she actually appears in the pilot in the "Inside every demon is a rainbow" song. 4- Lucifer suffers from depression and he actually shows many signs of it during his episode (lack of motivation, pessimism, the antisocial behavior, intrusive/suicidal thoughts (saying he could fall off the rail easily), the hard time paying attention and the short attention span are all symptoms of depression 5- The photos on the background of Lucifer's studio shows a emo Charlie 6- Lucifer still has his wedding ring on despite not being with Lilith for years now
Fun fact: Charlie is canonically 6 ft 5, and Lucifer is about a foot shorter than her, making him around 5 ft 5. That's barely below the average height of men
Have you ever watched Racing Stripes? I’ve enjoyed that movie when I was kid. A baby zebra who was kind of left behind by a circus, and was found by a farmer who used to be a horse racing trainer and lost his wife and his daughter wanted to follow in her footsteps while stripes (name of the zebra I believe) dreamt of being a racehorse, tho not knowing he’s a zebra. Again Ives enjoyed that movie a lot maybe give it a watch? Thx for reading my rant lol

Since you asked about Alastor's age: if it's still considered canon, then he died in the early 1930s.
As he is the Radio Demon, it probably is.

I always find it funny how Lucifer uses Alastor as the example for what all sinners are like, which shows just how much stronger Lucifer is.
The part when both Charlie and lucifer were singing was actually in different sessions and not together 🤯🤯
Charlie's mom isn't dead, she's just been absent for 7 years. The same amount of time Alastor was missing.

The person that has Alastor's soul has to be the green ancient demon that he told those eggs to shut up if they want to keep thier shells
I was thinking this too. A lot of peeps are pointing to Eve, Lilith and Roo. But the green visuals could work for your idea.
I don't think Zestiel is strong enough and they were way too friendly and spoke like they were on equal footing for them to have a master-servant relationship
