All of the separation episodes are basically extended canon. The anime took the cover pages and added a few more scenes and actual dialogues, but everything about the locations the Strawhats find themselves in is canon.
There is a difference between Blackbeard's devil fruit negation and haki . Blackbeard makes it so so you cannot use your fruit AT ALL while in contact with him while haki just allows people to touch damage them . If a haki user grabbed Ace they would be able to hold and pummel hin but he would still be able to torch everything .
And just like this, we crossed the yellow line of fun and games... just remember the words of Gekko Moria and Granny Nyon: "You are not ready for what's ahead!" and "You will be like an ant caught in a storm!"
This guy is so attentive to details. I am impressed. Noticed Doflamingo’s and Law’s Jolly Roger are somehow similar. Doflamingo’s Jolly Roger on the Human Auction House 12:06 Zoro’s unconfirmed use of CH
Just a word of advice: I wouldn't necessarily count out added anime scenes as being meaningless. Oda does often contribute to them, so there's always a chance of plot significance even if it wasnt in the manga. Like, remember the added episodes in Logue Town? Some of the content there was stuff that Oda wanted to put in the manga, but decided against because he really wanted to have the Straw Hats officially reach the Grand Line in the 100th chapter (issue? I get those terms confused since I'm not a manga reader). So that marksmanship duel between Usopp and Daddy? Technically it isn't canon to the manga, but it might as well be since Oda would've included it if he had a bit more space between arriving in Logue Town and the Grand Line. On the other hand, you've also got stuff that is completely added and non-canon BS, like Zoro casually cutting some steel chains during a filler arc before even reaching Whisky Peak, as well as Luffy & Friends finding a Poniglyph in a subterranean cave in the desert shortly after arriving in Alabasta.
The "no Nami = Zoro" part made me pause it to laugh hahaha.... Also, watching your videos ade me strangely protective of the idea of you not getting spoilers for the arcs ahead. Please, be careful!!!
On the anime adition point, Sabaody was a point when the anime started extending on the manga a bit with the autors blessing, here the check up on the crew was only a page each in manga if I remember, but it's confirmed canon, as long as it's not a full on filler episode you can trust what you see. As for Zoro, well the one piece world is full of sometimesunexplained powers...
Scenes that are only in the anime aren't always meaningless , some of them are EXTREMELY important and cannon , Oda sometimes leaving stuff out of the manga for the anime to fill . The anime has recently been evem able to spoil even manga readers a reveal that would only happen over 8 months into the future ( looking at you "Over The Top" )
Smh. Never watch the opening until you see there's a new one... So many spoilers. I started the anime with my sis long after being caught up, and once I realized the spoilers I'd try to stop her from watching them, although I didn't really succeed. One memorable instance was a certain blonde showing up in Dressrosa, and I brushed it off like a queen saying it was just recreating that one chapter cover in the manga with the ASL siblings running along a road
@@magacofi Yeah every opening spoils a ton , but "Over the Top" managed to spoil even manga readers . Then there's the anime showing stuff like who the 1% man is and who was following Jinbe and Robin
@@psychokiller1153 It's not that I'm saying that they aren't completely cannon, it like that part in last arc with Zoro was mistaken to use Haki and the animation team added it in for padding. There are parts in the separation stories that didn't appear in the manga which puts those parts in question of what's cannon and not. The stories are overall still cannon which is why it's still 90% or more
So, to clarify the Straw Hat Separation Serial. Originally in the Manga, each Straw Hat got a page or two across chapters 523 and 524. This was right at the end of Amazon Lily and the start of Impel down, precisely when the anime placed them. They were extended for the anime, but nothing the anime added *contradicted* the manga. The cover stories were only two installments for each Straw Hat, ran throughout the Impel Down arc, and got adapted and expanded on after Impel Down in the anime. Again, nothing in what was added contradicts the manga. Going forward, you can pretty much consider any scene the anime adds canon UNLESS it gets outright contradicted elsewhere, like Zoro cutting steel in Warship Island when that limitation is a major character beat in Alabasta, or if they say there's suddenly a Yellow Line in addition to the Red and Grand Lines or something.
i've watched a couple of these series of someone reading one piece for the first time, and the hype is real for impel down and the war, when you already know every little detail in the story you forget how little you actually knew when first watching it, hearing someone else experience this turning point for the story is great.
What you mentioned about the vague flashback parts also happened during Robin's flashback. After she runs away we only see glimpses of her life as a fugitive, a small child that has to survive in a world where everyone is out to get her. There is that one scene where she says something like "I'm 16, I'm willing to do anything", and you just can't help but imagine the worst
I didn't remember the openings 12-14 at all since I wanted to know what was going to happen. I did remember the yellow line though. I was speedrunning those arcs so much. 1000+ episodes feels like a lot but when I got to the end... I felt (and still feel) a hole in my heart that can only be healed by more one piece. I also bought the 97 volume which is coincidentally called My Bible- Anyways, great video as always. It's really entertaining to see you theorise. You' re catching onto a lot!
Love the series, always great to see people going through the one piece journey. Haki will get explained more as you get farther and farther, but you basically got the jist of it, one notable thing tho is that it doesn't turn off the power users powers it just lets the haki users hit devil fruit users's physical bodies. Blackbeard's fruit however DOES in fact just turn off powers, which is part of why hes so powerful, hes got like a default 90-10 matchup against fruit users.
As someone who only just saw BB appear at marineford, I wonder how Haki would play with BBs powers? Would a Haki wielding Luffy be able to stay rubbery since Haki allows you to do damage to df users?
Your videos always make me want to share everything with you (especially because you get some things almost spot on) and I have to hold back and wait for you to make it to the next steps

Got to admit, as a long time fan of One Piece I love seeing fans discover and fall in love with it, along with those goblin crank those gears in their heads in regards to theories and speculations
When you're done thinking what a yellow line in One Piece would look like, you should also seriously think about splitting some of the arcs into multiple videos. I'm not going to spoil anything, but some of these arcs will be jammed pack, or make you think about things that deserve their own video. I mean, the current already made clear how big it was by literally announcing when one act ends and another act begins while also giving an episode/chapter or two to act as intermissions between the acts (and yes, they are cannon)
I don't really like Brook's panty gag usually but when he lands in the cult and asks the girl to show panties and the men misunderstanding and show theirs gave me a good laugh

hes also stated a few times hes not rating the manga hes rating the anime. everyones reviewed the manga to death nothing wrong with 1 person saying look im rating the anime. it took him a while to realize that you just cant rate all the filler so expecting him to just switch to manga is unlikely. also a lot of people complain about the animes pacing and blah blah but like reactors like ruffsempai who are in mid dressrosa at this point are still talking about how they dont see what the big fuss is about. some people are ok with the pacing when able to binge vs week to week
As I've already said many times - I will be switching to the manga once I'm caught up. So far, I haven't felt that the pacing has ever gotten to the point that I'd want to switch despite hearing about it since the very start. Not saying that won't change, but as of right now, the plan is to watch through the anime up to present story, then switch to manga.
I really hope he doesn't change till the end of the series. There are a lot of similar videos to this series in other channels that do review the manga, let this one be the anime review.
at this point in the series they also showed whitebeard using conquerors haki when him and shanks met, also you see garp using a form of haki when he meets luffy and hurts him despite his fruit. the vegapunk lab is vegapunk's lab as a kid, this was his childhood town.
Impel down is gonna be the craziest arc so far, not the best but surely the craziest. Also we'll see the best waifu in that place. Has everyone noticed how impel down prisoners do not have yellow lines in their uniforms?
1 in million sounds like a small amount. But if we give the One Piece world the same population as regular Earth, and how the main players all gravitate towards the Grand Line, that's still around *8000* people with Conqueror's Haki.
While there are many pacing problems with the anime, from being produced pretty much yearly, it does a great job adapting oda’s core story. Even before u bring in the music and voice performances one piece is always so good at covering pretty much the entirety of the emotional spectrum. The fact that it happens so effortlessly and naturally is also one of it’s greatest strengths.
You mean how it was super crispy? I didn't notice that with Usopp's too much, but Robin's almost seemed like it was done in an entirely different style in places. I've sort of grown used to the art-styles switching here and there, so I didn't really bring it up, but yeah - it was definitely super crisp!
Also so many of your theories that you bring up are things I never noticed and that would impact the story a ton of they were true, somehow you keep noticing small details that bring up big things later, next thing you know there's gonna be a yellow line that no one else notices and it's gonna point directly to the one piece but you will just be like "that's odd' while people have their minds blown on how they missed it
About the scene where Luffy saw Hancock bathing. Most people simply think Luffy, being pure of heart, doesn't get attracted to women. That is not accurate. (If you want exact proof, he was attracted to Nami's body when Mr. 2 copied her and flash her boobs. Crass? Yes. Proves my point? Yes?) Instead, Luffy, being pure of heart, isn't LUSTFUL toward women like Sanji. Therefore, without libido, Hancock's power just won't work on him.
I found it very interesting to say the least - I'll talk about it a whole bunch more in Impel Down (script for that is pretty much finished), but to put it in as few words as possible - I'm really curious what happened between him and Dragon for him to literally disown his family name while Luffy never even knew his father existed. Though yeah, more on that in the next one :)
@@Koroto I remember watching this arc for the first time and having the same thoughts and can't wait for your video on impel down which I believe to be the funniest arc in the series also cant wait to see your opinions on characters like garp and whitebeard in the future
Yeah, honestly I agree that this arc wasn’t the best. Not bad, but not great. And I liked Robin’s story as well, though it was a bit sad. Though idk if it was me, but the art style seemed different for her too… I wonder why? I mean it didn’t have yellow lines or anything, but maybe it’s just the fluidity of the animation?
All the histories in the cover of the manga are actually canon. Some example of this kind of history are the reaction scenes to the wanted posters. There's also yout favorite octopus and mermaid duo in the backstories and lots more
This Arc really shows how much Luffy needs his crew. He fails to build a raft (Franky) he wouldn't be able to navigate anyways (Nami). He eats a live threatening mushroom which could've been prevented/treated (Sanji/Chopper). And on an unrelated note,do you know about the yellow line? I heard it's just like the Red Line, but yellow.
Please go in detail how you used to I don't mind it being as long as a yellow line. 😂😂 Speaking of it you, can you post the date on you which post next arc in community tab so that we just come on your channel on that date instead of checking it in frequently only to be disappointed. I am enjoying your content please keep up your good work. Thanks.
That's what the subscription is for :) Jokes aside, I'd love to, but I really have no idea when they'll be done. I'm still working 100+ hour weeks, so I try to squeeze in editing time wherever I can, but it's by no means consistent. I've still managed to put out content on a semi weekly basis, so the next one will _hopefully_ come in 2 weeks or so.
In Chapter 100, the Straw Hats reach the Grand Line In Chapter 490, they reach the other side of the Red Line In Chapter 1200, after they find the One Piece, they're gonna reach the Yellow Line. At which point, the prologue will end, and the REAL story is gonna begin
That's the thing tho: When I first watched this I was like "fuk this (women) she just kicked a cat". Now, I'm like "fuk you cat how dare you be in her majesty's way!?"
Its mentioned that Boa Hancock also has Conquerors also just noted you got a bit confused about the sisters Boa is their surname Boa Hancock, everyone calls her Boa cause..., Oldest Sister and also the Empress of the Kuja and Warlord, noted as the strongest among the Kuja, has the Love Love Fruit and having Conquerors Haki and who hopelessly fell in love for Luffy Boa Sandersonia, everyone calls her Sonia, Second Sister and Second in Command of the Kuja, the one with the Mantra like ability and Anaconda Devil Fruit Boa Marigold, everyone calls her Mari, Youngest Sister and Second in Command of the Kuja, yes there are 2 Second in Command, thats to say their strengts are about equal according to the Kuja ranking sistem, strength rules supreme, also the one with the palm reflecting like power and the King Cobra Devil Fruit

About the cover pages being turned into episodes, they are canon, also for your theories keep in mind space aliens are also real, that’s revealed in the Enel cover pages (they didn’t adapt that to anime so it’s not a spoiler) Also keep covering the filler scenes and eps, in one of your other vids in the segment where Luffy is able to talk to the dragon that’s a serious power that I don’t even think was in the manga at the time so yeh, Toei knows more than we think they do about the future of OP
@@Koroto that was entirely filler but with current events we find out that it’s actually a serious ability, one that you’ll be finding out in the fish man island arc and we still know very little about it

Great video, next arc is AMAZING but the arc after that is my fav arc in One piece
oh boy i can't wait to see your thoughts on the next three arcs!!!
"I don't really know how ghost girl is gonna help him with swordship abilities" oh boy just you wait😂😂😂😂😂
If anyone spoils this man i will end you
the yellow line ✨
idk i can't think of anything rn i just got back from school 💀
I don't know what to say with "yellow line"
Its the budget version of the red line.
5:45 Oh boy, when you get there you are going to laugh at how close you are.
a long time ago i made a yellow line in the snow... it was releaving to say the least. Buckle up for the next stage ^^
ayeee was waiting for the new vid of this series. 👏
edit: awesome video as always 👍
the next few videos are gonna be hype as fuck
I thought you would talk about the animation in Robin's and Usopp separation story :))
You mean how it was super crispy? I didn't notice that with Usopp's too much, but Robin's almost seemed like it was done in an entirely different style in places. I've sort of grown used to the art-styles switching here and there, so I didn't really bring it up, but yeah - it was definitely super crisp!
@@Koroto yeah, that´s the word! my english vocabulary is not so good :)
The cover story thing surrounding the straw hats are canon, no worries there.
Also so many of your theories that you bring up are things I never noticed and that would impact the story a ton of they were true, somehow you keep noticing small details that bring up big things later, next thing you know there's gonna be a yellow line that no one else notices and it's gonna point directly to the one piece but you will just be like "that's odd' while people have their minds blown on how they missed it
The line has been drawn and it is yellow and it is gonna be awesome!!! I going to take a guess and say that you are either from Poland or Slovakia.
I would have never guessed you're from Estern Europe, you don't have any specific accent. Btw I'm from Romania.
Love the Ace death counter. Gave me a chuckle 😂
Yes?)
Instead, Luffy, being pure of heart, isn't LUSTFUL toward women like Sanji. Therefore, without libido, Hancock's power just won't work on him.
Hi Koro I'm curious on what you though about Ace denying who his father is and claiming that Whitebeard is his true father?
It was outsourced to another studio
From what i remeber i might be wrong but i think that is the reason why the art style is different
It looks like a studio ghibli movie, but with a lot more cleavage and implied se*ual ass*ult torture
so far we know shanks, Raleigh and Hancock have conquered haki.
Wooooo let's go
Oh boy thing are about to get heated!
Rayleight didn't just stop Kizaru he even cut his face
All the histories in the cover of the manga are actually canon. Some example of this kind of history are the reaction scenes to the wanted posters. There's also yout favorite octopus and mermaid duo in the backstories and lots more
Wake up babe, a new Korotos' video is up
Oh fisher tiger 😔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 makes me tear up everytime
This Arc really shows how much Luffy needs his crew.
He fails to build a raft (Franky)
he wouldn't be able to navigate anyways (Nami).
He eats a live threatening mushroom which could've been prevented/treated (Sanji/Chopper).
And on an unrelated note,do you know about the yellow line? I heard it's just like the Red Line, but yellow.
The scene of him failing to build the raft almost killed me. 😂
Though yeah, that yellow line really is a curious place 🤔
don't worry about haki. you'll get an explanation dump on what it is, at least the basics.
I've still managed to put out content on a semi weekly basis, so the next one will _hopefully_ come in 2 weeks or so.
luffy is too in love with adventuring to get hit by the love love fruit
In Chapter 100, the Straw Hats reach the Grand Line
In Chapter 490, they reach the other side of the Red Line
In Chapter 1200, after they find the One Piece, they're gonna reach the Yellow Line. At which point, the prologue will end, and the REAL story is gonna begin
i have to point out Korotos they have boys as well but they leave them with their father than take them back with them
12:25 *chuckles*
Don't rule out anime added scenes. Oda leaves hints for future events everwhere. There's even hints in east blue for future arcs nobody catched on
It dose suck sometimes that Oda dose not kill characters.
But will it be interesting to watch/read if he would?
That's the thing tho:
When I first watched this I was like "fuk this (women) she just kicked a cat".
Now, I'm like "fuk you cat how dare you be in her majesty's way!?"
I mean, Americans also diss the imperial system fairly constantly. It's pretty much only 50+ crowd that like it.
Thank you god, for another video
Birdman Island is over the yellow line.
Its mentioned that Boa Hancock also has Conquerors
also just noted you got a bit confused about the sisters
Boa is their surname
Boa Hancock, everyone calls her Boa cause..., Oldest Sister and also the Empress of the Kuja and Warlord, noted as the strongest among the Kuja, has the Love Love Fruit and having Conquerors Haki and who hopelessly fell in love for Luffy
Boa Sandersonia, everyone calls her Sonia, Second Sister and Second in Command of the Kuja, the one with the Mantra like ability and Anaconda Devil Fruit
Boa Marigold, everyone calls her Mari, Youngest Sister and Second in Command of the Kuja, yes there are 2 Second in Command, thats to say their strengts are about equal according to the Kuja ranking sistem, strength rules supreme, also the one with the palm reflecting like power and the King Cobra Devil Fruit
A lot of people mistakenly think Luffy is asexual because of this arc, but really he's just a Sigma Male.
😂😂😂😂😂
He could be ace, or demi, or gay, or just plain not into her (body) type. There is like a million ways to headcanon it.
@@asthmaticbee Right but if you're a normal person the most straight forward conclusion is that he's just not focused on women or romance because he's driven towards his dream.
So ace's death will play like merryo go's death huh
The separation episodes are all cannon .
I know you wont read the manga but can you please look up the cover stories. As Oda puts a lot of work into it and they are amazing
I forgot maragetts existence until this Video.
Damn it
Funny enough, Zoro does have Conqueror's Haki
If you are a slave and found out in the world with the mark you are to be captured and returned to the world nobles
spoilers but just something that just came to mind. DO NOT READ unless caught up
something i find really interesting is he brings up how much stronger they have to get and how long that will take. they all get back to sabaody solo aka the entire first part of the show they did by themself sure they stayed out of joining literal wars (alabasta) or going to the sky or fighting tons of warlords. but they did the grandline solo. i mean they have a little help but outside of sanji whose with a full crew of fighters its not like they were with some crazy powerful allies that would make the grandline a breeze. the only one who wouldnt have come across other pirates or sea troubles is nami who was on a literal cloud
Brook landed in the coolest spot
Conqurers haki would be better translated to kings haki. Only people who have potential to be a ruler can use it.
Im just waiting for next 2 arcs and dressrosa....
yellow line
About the cover pages being turned into episodes, they are canon, also for your theories keep in mind space aliens are also real, that’s revealed in the Enel cover pages (they didn’t adapt that to anime so it’s not a spoiler)
Also keep covering the filler scenes and eps, in one of your other vids in the segment where Luffy is able to talk to the dragon that’s a serious power that I don’t even think was in the manga at the time so yeh, Toei knows more than we think they do about the future of OP
WAIT WAIT WAIT HOLD UP. Luffy being able to talk to the dragon wasn't just some shtick?!
@@Koroto that was entirely filler but with current events we find out that it’s actually a serious ability, one that you’ll be finding out in the fish man island arc and we still know very little about it
I don't need no fishman island for theory time - either Luffy has 2 fruits and we don't know about it or that's the "voice of the universe" AND BOTH ARE... WHAT
@@Koroto it was also hinted at in the in the sabaody arc I think when we find out about Roger being able to hear the Poneglyphs, that’s all the examples I can think of that you’ve seen so far tho soooo, have fun mulling that over in your head
Ill try not to say too much but watch @Merphy Napier reviews she does reviews on books with "yellow lines" and one piece was her first manga/anime but now she's all caught up lol so its up to you if you want to wait but both of you have similar reviews.
Yeah, her name has popped up a lot since I've started the series, but I'm trying to not watch literally anything to do with One Piece until I get caught up myself. It's certainly a bit weird existing in this bubble of sorts, but I think it makes for more a more interesting viewing experience as my opinions are 100% my own.
Once I'm caught up though, I'll definitely be checking out other OP creators!
@@Koroto sounds good it's the best way to avoid spoilers, hope you're enjoying the arc and I'll just say that I would consider the war arc on the level of Naruto war arc status it's 🔥
@@El_MEM3 I've never seen Naruto, so I wouldn't know what that means anyway 😅
@@Koroto honestly you saying that makes me feel better because you don't know what's coming 😂
cover stories and their adaptations are canon 👍
Idk if i should say this so i will put it behind
Spoiler *
Mantra and haki are the same thing it's only called mantra on skypiea
Kinda like how they say "hesso"
