avoid miami unless ur fluent in spanish, have flooding and hurricane insurance, and have a tolerance for rude and shallow scam artists. so much nicer cities in florida. miami is a joke
It was tough, but after 20 years I left San Diego too. For about the same reasons. Taxes are insane. I’m in Colorado now but seriously considering moving to Miami sight unseen as well.
I just went for my birthday a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved my week in Miami. I was encouraged by her friend prior to that because I have been on the fence about where I could see myself moving to. I’ve been to Vegas. I’ve been to Massachusetts in a bunch of other great places, but Miami just fit me so well so I am making plans to become a resident down in Miami. I’m glad I found your video as I am an author, Podcaster, maker of fragrances, and I’m looking to add wine to my lifestyle brand. Thank you for the inspiration for having me consider Miami as my place of residence since I live in New York currently. Definitely will be subscribed to your channel.
@Ravi Abuvala I almost moved to Miami from NYC about 20 years ago but at the time it seemed like the party lifestyle was too prevalent. Seems like Miami has changed a lot based on what you say in your video. I also lived these last several years in San Diego so it’s interesting to hear your viewpoint. The state income tax rate is definitely a concern-it can be up to 13.3% of your taxable income in CA. So yes, I’m intrigued by the idea of moving to Miami…thank you Ravi 👍
I’m in tech working remotely I’m not 7 figs yet just 6 figs yearly ..California is killing me bruh I feel what you where saying I currently in LA I just left Miami last month loved it looking to make that move from LA to Miami this year
Yeah we are also thinking about moving to Miami. On the corporate side, we can save very little in the 1000s in tax owed (also because we have little net profit) but we save around $12k per salary in income tax gain which is awesome. Thankfully we outsource employment for most of our tasks so we don't have to think about unemployment insurance etc. Its scary but we might make this move. We will see.
What are your thoughts on humidity? Lived in California my whole life, but when I tell people I want to move to FL humidity is the only thing they talk about.
I have 4 income streams, but only 2 are making me money!! I'm unpatiently waiting over here living in Las Vegas to increase my monthly income to more than $10,000. a month in order to enjoy everything there is over there, as I grew up there? And not just Survive and struggle! So, I feel stuck out here now waiting till I start getting some huge money flow from my 2 other streams😢 So far, also the Real Estate situation over there doesn't look like it's going to get fixed anytime soon either!
Miami is definitely the most overrated city in the U.S. I have lived here my whole life and let me tell you that I can't wait to leave this city. The people are rude/superficial, salaries are significantly lower than the national average and yet cost of living is actually HIGHER than New York. Also do not get me started with the humidity. It is not for me. However, I respect your opinion Ravi and I'm glad you found Miami.
Went to miami for a mastermind meet up and the people and business connections were incredible - felt like I finally belonged. Also heard Austin is good. How would you pick between the two (in the most unbiased way possible from your perspective)? I know your time is valuable - would appreciate any insight. P.s. I know pena
@@Notpublic4719 I’ve lived in Miami for over 15 years and don’t have to speak Spanish to live or work here. The need to speak spanish usually only happens in certain areas of Miami, not the majority of Miami.
There are more Billionaires in California (or formerly were due to Exodus); and in Miami there are Trillion-dollar assets held in vaults awaiting acquisitions. With No income tax in FL for Biz and personal, it make sense to be in FL at this scaled-up level. If you see yourself at $B, then Florida is for you IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN US. Many options overseas that give you less living expenses than US. Are you US-born citizen? Want me to make video on this subject to help others? Hey Ravi, since you are a pilot, then you noticed CA hangar requirements vs FL hangars due to insurance. Those darn hurricanes make you adjust. We lived in FL since 2003 and tried CA and setup businesses in UT, OR and FL.
Some of what was said doesn't ad up. For example, if you moved due to tax reasons then why can't you disclose how long you were in CA for? You make it sound like you weren't paying CA state income tax since you don't want to disclose how long you were there for. But then you turn around and say you were paying 50%+ of your income to the state of CA... Are you a W-2 employee at this time or do you own a business? Either way it doesn't make sense, surprised no one has called this out in the comments.
I just moved to Miami Beach I am looking for my health team I want a personal trainer Massuese and acupuncturist! Then the best networking connects for conscious entrepreneurs!
I get to choose where I do my med school clinical years. I was thinking about moving to Miami from LA but I keep hearing that a lot of people down there only speak Spanish. You think this'll be an issue? I need to be able to impress the doctors etc so I could get a residency down there. so if there's a lot of patients like that whom I wont be able to communicate with cuz I dont speak spanish, that might be a problem. Thoughts? Thanks.
I live here and I'm not yet an entrepreneur I struggle every single day to pay my rent and my groceries, get your POV but I barely afford to live here and I have never been into a club or have a good life. I feel depressed and desperate to create my own bussines HELP ME 😞 😔
This seems to only apply to those who have the money to move, their own plane, money to buy a million dollar condo ect. You dont see Californians living paycheck to paycheck just up and moving.
