    Math Error: 6 euro/day X 30 days= 180 euros (not 360) so even cheaper!

All good sensible advice Bart. Hope people watching the video take it on board.
    Buen Camino. Nigel.

Yes at times I sensed your weariness and frustration with new cultures, but that made the experience more authentic, and you got the balance about right.

And I've gotten some negative comments that I was being too real, or complaining.
Most RUclipsrs try to condense the entire month down into about an hour of videos in total. When you do that you only show dancing, laughing, sunshine and lollipops.
When you do daily videos, especially some/many lasting over 20 minutes...you get more reality.
At my age, walking 20 mile days for 2 months straight...with only 4 days off...is still fatiguing.
Nigel is different. Nigel is a superman. I doubt he'll take a day off all the way back to his house. But then Nigel is only a days car ride from home too.

Excellent tips and tricks Bart ! I miss your daily adventures 😢

      Yeah, I miss it too.
It's funny, when you've been out on the trail for a couple months...you can't WAIT to go home.
Once you're home for a couple weeks....you wish you were BACK out on the trail.
I don't know what to make of that. Gypsy life.

I miss the daily uploads as well. One of the best hikes I have ever watched. Saw parts of France and Spain that I didn't know existed.

Enjoyed your final installment of your Camino Frances series. Your insight on trail runners, base layers, outer layers etc., was excellent.
I also used and will use again a 70 liter dry bag to check my backpack. My version is Amazon and much cheaper than the Zpacks option. I also bring a knife and trekking poles. Also use a packable daypack to carry gear on the plane and stuff around town end of day.
Did you have a umbrella holder on your straps for handsfree carry?
What do you suggest for water?
You were being kind to the bus pilgrims!
Again enjoyed your installments - great fun

Yes, I have a hands free clips for my shoulder strap.
Water? I only carried a half liter bottle. There was water in most towns as a fountain. If it was cold, a lot of days I didn't drink any water from my bottle. Nigel and I stopped enough to get 2nd breakfast, then a cafe con leche stop, then a cerveza grande stop. Turns out, Beer is much better than luke warm water.

@@onthetrailwithbart523 this evening I attended a local Camino Society event here in Calgary. A lady asked if anyone had expetienced experienced the trek from LaPuy. I suggested to her watch your videos and if she had queztions, do not hezitatw to ask you.

WHAAAT? 1100 miles on a pair of Altra's! Amazing!!! I don't think you would get that on the AT, PCT or CDT but the Camino looked shoe friendly. And then there were all those hiking boots on the trail...The back scratcher is a great idea. You are the first person who mentioned having one. My back always itches in the spot you can't reach! It always drives me crazy when I come across people with ear buds in. They cannot hear you. I come up behind them on my bike and I'm ringing my bell like crazy and they don't even know you are there. It applied to hiking trails too. Some people listen to podcasts while walking but I like to hear the sound of nature. Excellent video; especially for anyone considering this trail. Thanks for doing it. John from MI

Having your back sweat with a backpack leaves salt on your skin, and salt always drys skin out and makes it itch.
And, on the Camino, not hearing a bike coming up in back of you will get you center punched by the bike doing 20 miles an hour.

Great trip and gear review Bart! Not really a gear question, but never heard it discussed. Did you have an international data plan, or use local wifi to upload your daily videos? I think there was only one time we didn't get a consecutive daily upload. Were you able to make calls and texts back to the US?
I personally would always pack a headlamp or small flashlight. I know the phone has one, but a dedicated unit to me, is more convenient. Thank you for documenting your incredible adventure!

Verizon has a free international plan.
But most people use What'sApp to message people.
I had to rely on Wifi to upload videos. Some Wifi was amazing. Some Wife was just good enough to check your emails.

Bart, more great information. Could you do a quick video on how you booked your rooms? Was it all pre planned, did you book as you walked? Did you happen to make a Google map of your walk and your breaks/stays? It would be great if you could share. Where to next?

      I'll work on that.
We're moving in a week. First work the house then will see.
I would like to do the Oregon Coast Trail again, (and every summer) until I just can't do it anymore.
I would like to repeat sections of the PCT like Washington.
I would like to, gulp, do a Yo-Yo FKT on the AZT where I would ipso facto be the oldest person to ever do that. BUT...

The puffy jacket looks really useful. Could you please share the brand and place of purchase? Thank you.

What type of Altra’s did you have?

Those are Timp 1.5. They don't make them any more. I just buy them off of Ebay whenever I see a pair in my size and that's still in really good shape.
After the company that owns The North Face bought out Altra, they completely changed the Timp line and don't offer Timps in the "Original Shape" any more.
I emailed Altra if they were ever going to make the Timp in the Original Shape again and they said, "We have no plans to offer the Timp in the Original Shape."
