- Author JK Rowling has slammed the Head of the Safe Sport Unit at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Thursday.
Rowling responded to a video posted by IOC Media where Kirsty Burrows discussed how the 2024 Paris Olympics is tackling mental health.
Burrows explained how the 2024 Paris Olympics offered “the most comprehensive package of mental health and safeguarding initiatives”.
The Harry Potter author criticised the video and labelled the IOC’s safeguarding “a joke”.
“A young female boxer has just had everything she’s worked and trained for snatched away because you allowed a male to get in the ring with her. You’re a disgrace, your ‘safeguarding’ is a joke and #Paris24 will be forever tarnished by the brutal injustice done to Carini,” she wrote.
On Thursday, Algeria’s Imane Khelif defeated Italy’s Angela Carini after just 46 seconds.
Carini decided to end the match in under a minute after taking several punches to the head by Khelif.

She got to the 1/4 finals in Tokyo 2020 and lost to Kellie Harrington, she got silver in the 2022 world championships and disqualified from the 2023 ones by the IBA head they later claimed she failed a gender test or perhaps was XY which is what started all this.

That volleyball player wasn't just injured at the time. She's *STILL* permanently disabled even to this day. Partially paralysed on her right side, has trouble walking, has a learning disability that she never had before, and so on. Her life was permanently changed and ruined by a dewd who bashed her with a 70mph volleyball that she was knocked unconscious, and then he laughed about it immediately after.

This is getting ridiculous. If a man goes through puberty, he will always be stronger than any woman regardless of when he transitions. That person will have higher muscle mass, which means higher oxygen levels, less lactic acid buildup, less fat content. When did biology take a back seat to politics?
Many people with Swyer Syndrome don't actually go through puberty. This isn't a trans athlete but one born and identified as a girl at birth and raised as a girl. Try reading a bit about DSD and Swyer syndrome.

We also have the IBA letter (to the IOC) online. The actual tests were conducted by Sistem Tip Laboratory from Istanbul and Dr Lal PathLabs in New Delhi. From the IBA letter "Khelif and Lin were informed accordingly about the decision and acknowledged it by signing the papers. The test details were attached to the letter". Note that the labs were CAS approved.
