      I have watched 100's of them too, and this is one of the best. I have come to the conclusion that the #1 requirement I would have is a hydraulic bed. A Murphy style bed would be my 2nd choice.
      It's really surprising to me how hard it is to find a cargo trailer conversion that I like compared to finding camper van conversions that I like.

    That in floor storage would be a great way to put in a shower that you could hide away when not in use

    • @wiresbringit
      @wiresbringit Год назад

      Bingo! A 20L (5 Gallon) Sea to Summit Collapsible Kitchen Sink and a KEDSUM Portable Camp Shower would hide away perfectly. I use it with a 5 gallon bucket and the sink for more sink like things as the summit sink is wider so it would get shallow sooner and so run out of water flow faster but it would still work well! With the sprayer instead of the shower head I only use about 3 gallons anyway because it's not constantly pumping.

    2. Cargo-to-camper trailer conversions are so danged cool. As you know I'm in the middle of doing one myself and seeing stuff like this continues to motivate me. Thanks Rick, Linda and Anthony! Now, back to the vid.

    Where was Anthony when I was DIYing my van interior? His trailer is filled with awesome innovations. He could start a new career in building these toy haulers. That is my goal to add a toy hauler to my van. I plan to pick up a small 4X4 ATV or UTV. I have a GMC Savana 2500 with the Vortec V8 and my gas mileage averages between 12 and 13mpg. Adding a trailer will surely impact my fuel mileage. It's the price you pay to have fun.

Yes i take it on the ice and fish from the inside so i don't have to freeze my but off lol.

    We’re getting a flat nose so we can use the tongue for 2 propane bottles. We ordered the trailer with no ramp or doors on the back, and will have a large egress window back there, 3 windows, and a fourth window in a 36” rv style door, with a screen door so we should have plenty of natural light and fresh air.

    Brake addition is GOOD. I usually purchase adapter to match tow vehicle bolt pattern. He has generated a LOT if wind turbulance/drag. Jacks should be INSIDE trailer corners (becomes anti theft). The back corners can bolstered and reinforced with alum skidplate that protects the light frame that is easily bent if bottomed out. .

    • @reidcrosby6241
      @reidcrosby6241 Год назад

      @@gonagain on the skid plate have a custom bend from edge to edge width wise and have it bent in a U shape to capture both the back frame channel (usually below rear door will be visible as channel terminated near door frame) and have it run to second frame cross brace and terminate at plywood floor at top of that cross brace. At rear aluminum skin I use Dymonic sealant and use a counter sinking (flush) stainless machine screw to pull it tight to aluminum skin and squeeze out sealant. I predrill and use a self tapping torx to establish threads for the stainless as stainless is soft and can't cut threads. This also enables ypu to have a mounting point for rear internal leveling AND anti theft jacks (only accessible from INSIDE the trailer. I am also an advocate for a custom removable tongue so it can't be towed away if left somewhere unattended. Basically would be criminal would we so frustrated they'd likely just burn it to the ground because they can't steal it. Lol.

    • @johnfarthing6174
      @johnfarthing6174 Год назад +1

      Even on a budget it can get expensive! I’m at about $20k on mine. It’s a 7x16, double axle. That total includes the trailer as well. You have to keep in mind that it’s built in most cases better than a traditional camper and it’s built and customised by yourself. I finished mine last August and I’m going to post a walk through video once I complete the solar panels.

    Great video and some good ideas.
    Your videos have inspired our build for the last year and a half. If you’re head up the coast we are all n Myrtle Beach area and it would be great to show you our build in process. Thanks again for the videos!

      Thanks for watching, Mike! We're already back in MT but our road trip videos will keep coming for another couple of weeks or more. We would have enjoyed seeing your build.

    Could Anthony please share the brand of toilet and holding tank he has. We are interested in adding it to our converted trailer as well. Thanks! Nice build btw!!

    Very nice build. I'm not a fan of the on demand hot water heater for boondocking. Mine wastes way to much water. Im taking it out and replacing it with a regular one.

    on the outside its great but why all the obstruction on the side , a few is ok, but the side mounted units is a blocker of wind when traveling? the ladder is strong to hold someone heavy but its heavy in weight, and it extends higher then the roof ? he could put a handle on the top to hold on to when climbing down. i dont like to tank location due to the fact that the tank frame is an obstruction in bottoming out, think the frame is below the axle? , the axle is the lowest point of the trailer, he could have gotton flat pan tanks for the black and grey to tuck up in the frame making more room under the trailer. other then that it looks good, /
