    Just watched parts 1 and 2. You answered my main question which was about spoke to spoke traffic. I don't get time on the routers so it's nice to see all the steps involved. Great job!

    Why did you configure tunnel destination to hub explicitly on Spoke-2?

    • @NetworkDirection
      @NetworkDirection  3 года назад

      that's the way it works. The spokes have to know where to find the hubs.
      The hubs don't need to know about the spokes, as the spokes will find them and register themselves

    I don’t understand what’s the difference between spoke and normal router also what’s a hub router?I really would appreciate if someone could help

    • @NetworkDirection
      @NetworkDirection  3 года назад

      These are DMVPN terms.
      A hub router is a router that other routers connect to.
      Spoke routers connect to the hub router
      If you drew a picture of what it would look like, you would have something looking like a star or flower. The hub router is in the middle, with spoke routers connecting to it

    thanks for tutorial
    one question if we need configure dmvpn or vpn we need certificate

    • @NetworkDirection
      @NetworkDirection  4 года назад

      If you configure IPSec, you may need a certificate. GRE and DMVPN are for the tunnel, and are not encrypted by default. Adding IPSec encrypts the traffic.
      They support using PSK and certificates for authentication. So, yes, you could use a certificate in this case if you want to.

      @@NetworkDirection thanks for answer? how i could find certificate for IPSec

    • @NetworkDirection
      @NetworkDirection  4 года назад

      You would need to generate one. You could get a free certificate from someone like letsencrypt.org/

    And btw, what about the LANs behind the spokes and the hub?
    Will they be part of the next videos on other versions of DMVPN?

    • @NetworkDirection
      @NetworkDirection  5 лет назад

      Yes, we will touch on these in video #2, especially when we talk about phase 3 and shortcut routes.
      We'll have a special video on routing with DMVPN in the future (but I haven't written it yet).
