I refuse to eat organ meat. I like seafood, but not really fish. I will eat tuna and some salmon. I usually run into carbs when I eat out. It's expensive to eat two steaks so I'll eat some veggies then. I eat no wheat products and no sugar. I just can't eat sugar and not crave it. I can now have sprite zero once in a while. It doesn't affect my blood sugar, but at first anything sweet made me crave sugat. It took 5 months to finally whip that beast of a craving. I drive a lot so I'll eat nuts and beef jerky when I'm bored. I buy small bag of pistachios so I don't gorge myself. I had to change my shopping habits so I avoided the things I craved. It was hard driving by Dolly General and not stop and get a pecan cluster. But I finally arrived at a time where I don't mind the chips at a mexican restaurant or bread at steak house. It's liberating and took about 5 months but I'm there. The onlybthink I haven't given up is my Marzetti's french dressing an blue cheese. I use it sparingly and stir it up good so the salad is blended.

I weighed about 110kg. then I gained weight by 2019 up to 120kg, and then stop all achohol, cut all sugar. no rice, no pasta, no porradge, no bread. Red meat, eggs, some times peanuts. avo and some fruit from time to time. I fasted 16hrs a day for 4 months. I weight came down to 100kg by 2022. Then I did the test again, my fasting insulin was down to 15. That was a fantastic improvement. Weightlost was not just about my figure but a change in lifestyle and health. Drinking was a good way to let go of stress. but what i did was to stop the drinking and the money I saved on that, I used it for every weekend massage at the spa, that was also good to let go of stress. But 16hr Fasting, no sugar, very little carbs, more water. going strong with meat and eggs did help a lot, but its a long term lifestyle change not something you can quickly do for a week.

Fat in the meat is literally a lubricant for your bowels -- you need it, but our subconscious remembers the misinformation that fat is bad for us. I have also never had any food sensitivities, and the actual amount of spices is so small that I don't worry about heavily spicing my meat. Dr. Berry, I have been watching your videos for a long time, I am obese and have all of the symptoms you mention here. I was diagnosed with Viral Cardiomyopathy after having covid in 2020, and struggled with loss of energy etc, so I got even heavier. I was on the keto diet for over a year with some success, but then was tested for and found out I was positive for multiple autoimmune syndrome. I want to thank you for your educational videos delivered with such empathy! I am almost one month carnivore, still eating more of a variety of meat and some (less and less) dairy. Maybe it shouldn’t take getting so sick and being so overweight to follow such sage advice, but for me it took seeing such a change in Larry and Cassie from Carnivore Quest, along with your advice to finally get me to go for it. I am seeing major health gains (and weight loss) already! My blood sugar is better, I am able to lower my insulin, and I have zero cravings! My first really provable gain I can show my doctor is my blood pressure is 122/47! I haven’t had a “within normal range” reading since 2007! Even with meds! Soon I will be able to lower my blood pressure meds, and I am guessing go off them altogether! Thankfully my nephrologist (yes, I have kidney disease as well) is pro the ketogenic diet for me. I’m not sure what he would think about the carnivore diet but he was also pro my no longer eating high oxalate foods, so, once he sees my health improvements I think he will be on board. Sadly even though I have been asking my doctors for more extensive/autoimmune disease testing, my new nephrologist was the first doctor to test me!?! Anyway back to my point, thank you, your videos are unbelievably helpful, even if it takes some of us longer to come around, I know how many people are being helped by you!

I was diagnosed in 2022 for metabolic syndrome. I’m also type 2 diabetic induced my steroids and have pcos. My insurance cancelled me during pre op. Had lips and metabolic panel lab done. A1c is 9.6. I’m trying to accept the fact I can’t get surgery right now and to find other ways to reverse or make things better. I did have creatines above 20 points so I need to make different changes asap. I’m now 31 and have a family. I m going to try this Doc.

Wow, I've been seeing so many Dr.s for 10+ YRS and not a single one has ever put these together. I meet 4/5 of these factors, have high Inflammatory markers, positive ANA, iron deficient anemia, ongoing low ferritin, insulin resistance and a pre diabetic glucose for many years. No doctor can seem to figure it out. Nobody has ever discussed a menu plan with me. I am so overwhelmed.

Thanks to low carb eating (at one time strict keto and Dr Berry!) I lost 90 lbs. I regained some weight after developing osteoarthritis in my hip and now BMI is high with other factors good. Part of the way I lost weight was by walking so the bad hip took that advantage away from me.
I feel I have metabolic syndrome since I can't lose weight anymore by eating low carb. My A1C is 5.0, bg daily reading is consistently under 100 and ranges around 90-95 with levels dropping below at times.
I don't eating sugars thanks to learning how to do keto. No white foods etc and no veg oils. I have good blood pressure. I've seen a doctor and was prescribed ozempic - it didn't do much but probably did drop my A1C a little.
When I first did keto/low carb high fat weight just seemed to drop off and I thought I was genius, I was telling everyone how easy this was but things have changed. Now, nothing seems to budge the scale.
"metabolic syndrome" - something I want to understand.

I was diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome X....My Doctor never talked to me about it or how serious it is....I would have never known had I not received a print out of my current conditions after an ER visit!!!!!
I researched what it was...and was shocked at what I found!!!
I had run across you in my search, became a binge watcher of your videos. Went Ketovore then Carnivores 6 months later... I IF 16-24 hours between meals, down 70 pounds. Off high blood pressure meds, NAFL gone, Fibromyalgia, Renaulds, Prediabetes, Psoriasis....all gone. A1C of 6.9 down to 5.4.
I am NOT anemic, but instead of High Ferritin levels, I have EXTREMELY LOW FERRITIN levels.
    What's up with that Doc?
I went from size 24 to size 12.... STILL have 40 pounds to go.... overweight but no longer obese. Large stomach, upper arms and thighs.
I really needed this video to remind me how far I have come.
My doctor has not even acknowledged my reversing my Metabolic Syndrome X!!!!
Just said I was STILL overweight.
    VERY discouraging!!!
THANKS DOC for what you do!!!
You and Neisha saved my life.
    Keep up the good work!!!!

Hi Dr. Berry, Excellent video just like all your other videos. I however wish to seek clarification to assist me in helping my clients better as a Wellness Coach. Please explain the relationship between Metabolic syndrome and the progression from Fatty Liver to Fatty Pancreas to Insulin Resistance to Type 2 Diabetes as explained in another of your videos. The reason for the question is that both seem to lead to Type 2 diabetes. So are they the same path or two different paths to Type 2 Diabetes???

I'm so glad that I have found your videos. But I'm wondering how long it should take before my fasting glucose settles in? The week I started it dropped to 70 then back up to 85 then down to 74 but today when I checked it was 106. It's never been that high and I had less than 20 g of carbohydrates yesterday and fasted for 16 hours before I tested. So it's only been about 3 weeks and I realize I could be rushing but I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions?

I didn’t necessarily think this was wrong about carbs but after fasting 18/6 that has helped me lose weight and lower my blood pressure. I tend to eat only single ingredient foods which are non-processed. It’s a struggle. I love bananas and other fruits. Gotta limit them to once a day. That’s a must. With working out this is more than proven to me. This is my life now. I’m no longer the young person and I was and my eating habits need to reflect that.

I have three of the five. So any advice would be helpful. How about steel cut oatmeal? I was led to believe that they are the least processed type of oats. If no oatmeal, then what can I replace it with for my breakfast go to? I am already having a couple hard boiled eggs for protein in the mornings. What would you suggest for a balanced and nutritious breakfast. An occasional avocado as well. What and how much can I combine to balance it all out? Someone can go crazy trying to balance all this out.
