There are always hidden gems in the lower parts of the charts. Thanks for including the whole top 100 this time. Please continue to do so. We’re discovering songs we’ve never heard of before.
Got to say it's hard to believe this will be 40 next year. Once again, thank you. I'm glad to see even lower down the chart (below 75!) I will be discovering a few of these last places. 'Steppin Out' is a gem. Stood the test of time that has. Excellent start with "Down Under'. Eddy Grant is an amazing singer and 'Electric Avenue' is a gem. Both his entries are fire. 'Sign Of The Times' is a great song - stood the test of time. 'Shiny Shiny' is a bit of a guilty pleasure 😉. 'New Years Day' one of U2s best songs. A lot of The Jam re-releases I have to say. Not complaining mind. One of the best groups we've produced here. Indeep have a classic. '1999' - I was surprised that didn't do better! Everyone knows that song. 'Billie Jean' is a classic. Deserved it's place at the summit. 'Africa' a classic. 'Photograph' one of Def Leppards underrated songs. 'Baby Come To Me' one of my absolute favourites in this list. I'd put it joint first with Bonnie. Gorgeous ballad of two great voices. 'Communication' of Spandau Ballet's underrated songs. 'Sweet Dreams' of course. Massive hit and Annie's voice really adds that eerie feel to the song. 'Boxerbeat' a forgotten hit. 'Never Too Much', can't beat a bit of Luther. Can't beat Madness either. I absolutely love 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart'. My joint #1 on this list. 'Rip It Up' and 'Drop The Pilot' amazing. I prefer Forrest's cover of 'Rock The Boat' over the original. A young Sinitta in the video. No Problem was I believe the first ever all black comedy in the UK. Quite a good song too. 'Joy' a proper disco gem. 'Run For Your Life' excellent pop track. 'Visions in Blue' is an underrated song. 'You Can't Run From My Love' a forgotten and unknown gem. 'Lets Dance' amazing. 'China Girl' should have been #1. 'Words' a classic eurodisco song. 'Johnny B Goode' a reggae gem. Grace Jones she is amazing. She don't give a shit and I love her. 'Rosanna' classic. I prefer Falco's version of 'Der Komissar'. 'I'm Never Giving Up' was our Eurovision entry and a good one. In case anyone is wondering 'Gis a Job' is from a British drama 'Boys From The Blackstuff'. Ann Breen tried to sing for Ireland in their 1990 Eurovision heats and came fourth. Keeping with the Eurovision theme, one of the members of Mezzoforte; his daughters were this year's Icelandic entry.
I had just turned 16 in this time period and was in my last year at school, this brought back some great memories! A few forgotten favourites in there too, such as 'No Problem' by the Powell Family, which was the theme tune of the Channel 4 sitcom of the same name, and favourite viewing of me and my mates at the time! Many of these are still in my record collection to this day. 😊
Late comment. Much much appreciated vid. Many obscure to me, but many others spark real memories - and songs nearly always missed on the "150 top hits" type vids.
@SluttChops Ah, makes sense now. I was just about to take my O Levels in early 1983 and music was my life, but I have no recollection of all that Jam stuff being re-released. I couldn't figure out why it would have been!

And them singles that were lower parts of charts, were big/very big hits in other countries!

Great video!!!
"Too shy" and "Words" are two of my favorite one-hit wonders from the 80's!!!
Просто 🔥!
Спасибо за твою работу! ⭐⭐⭐

so many hidden pearls to rediscover - the UKS Top 100 during 1981-1990 were so dynamic... and so full of diversity💛💚💙💜

So much Jam
IKR?
They broke up that year, that's why.

How many songs did the jam re release it must be the lot
I'm shocked Toto Africa wasn't a No 1 in uk. It's one of the best songs ever. Incredible.
What other countries will be featured in this rubric?
Man, what about all The Jam's re-releases ?
It was around this time The Jam officially split up hence all the re-releases.
@@doughnutdoney997 Was thinking that. The Style Council came out the same year?
They did like The Jam didn't they??
