Not so lovely. He bullied people in auditions giving them stage fright and now he’s pretending he’s got stage fright in MelFest Semi. And suddenly not in the final. What a joke! Glad he lost.
@@hallaskjerah it is not at all true, he has, firstly, severe ADHD, which also means that he has poor self-confidence and he also has a high "stage fright" due to it.
Not sending Cornelia would be such a missed opportunity, feel like it’ll go down in respected Eurovision history alongside the likes of I Feed You My Love if it does
Anders Bagge might win because of who he is. He is a judge in Swedish Idol and a song writer. He has written songs for Celine Dion and Anastasia among other big world known artists. And the only reason he is competing is to challenge himself. When he was in Masked Singer Sweden, he revealed that he has a stage fright. But my favourites are Tone and Cornelia.
Really liked your takes on the songs! You said Cazzi Opeia reminded you of a k-pop song. It's funny cus she's a k-pop writer and has written some famous k-pop songs.
I dont know if the knew this, but Cornelia’s father(Jakob Samuel) was in melodifestivalen 2006 and 2008, he was the singer in the rock/metal band ”The poodles”. I think they reached like 4th or 5th place in the final 2006. In 2008 they performed together with the swedish king of eurodisco from the 90s ”E-type”. But i think they ended up in ”Andra chansen” and didnt reach the final. Im not a huge fan of mello, its usually not my first choice of music in the competition. But i will always give any kind of music a chance, because if i didnt, i might miss something good.😉 My favorite this year was ”Run to the hills”. I liked this video, you really show how much you like this and you know a lot about it and passion for music is always a good thing. So keep up the good work!😊👍
And you’ll get more! Once all 40 Eurovision entries are out, I’ll be reacting to them so I hope you’ll be here for them too! Thank you for the love 🥺❤️
This was a really fun video! I enjoyed your take for every song, you cut each song down to a good length and the obscure clips and references like Benji's celebratory dance were great. The only thing I wish you keep in mind was that the transitions between the songs was louder than the rest of the video so listening in headphones it was a little harrowing every time it happened, and it was a slightly unpleasant sound at that. It could be a fun little video if you listen to the songs that were lost in Andra Chansen and gave your opinions on if the right songs won (Anna, Tone, Theoz, Cazzi)
Appreciate the feedback! I don’t often edit with headphones so it’s good to have this to consider but thank you for all the lovely things you had to say! Very encouraging ❤️
I'm sure Rob has already seen this, so for anyone else wondering: Cornelia Jakobs - Hold Me Closer is Sweden's winner this year. I don't like Sweden's international voter system to pick a winner, but this year it did save us from having Anders Bagge's Bigger Than The Universe in the final and I really disliked that song (though Anders does sing very proficiently).
Do I agree with the jury picking the winner instead of the publics overwhelming favourite? No. Am I happy to overlook it for Cornelia’s sake? Absolutely xxx
Maybe? To me, it was like an elevated version of something the U.K. would send. Sweden love Anders but nobody else would know his story, is my personal feeling. I guess we’ll never know but super happy for Cornelia’s deserved victory ❤️
5:48 Not sure how experienced THEOZ is standing on a stage, but I think he is a really big Swedish Tiktok "dancer", so he is well known among the kids :P
Anders bagge is like every swedes uncle we LOVE him here. He have written songs for Madonna, Janet Jackson, Santana, J.Lo, Jessica Simpson, Céline Dion och Enrique Iglesias.
You're quite right, her voice control isn't there for this song, so she didn't try the high notes in the final. The thing with änglavakt is the lyrics, which doesn't make it a brilliant eurovision entry, but it's very beautiful
Every time I hear Run To The Hills, I can’t help think how good KEIINO would’ve sounded doing it? What a return to Eurovision this could’ve been for them 👀 I do love Klara though!
i totally feel the same about Cazzi Opeia, i actually dont think it would work that great in the context of ESC. BUUUUT, its the only song that litterally got stuck in my head.
@RobPOP It's ironic how he got half a million more votes than Cornelia by the swedish people (but thankfully the international jury saved us there), and Cornelia got ripped by the swedish Idol jury (where Bagge was a member) as a 16 y old. "You're crazy! And not in a good way, i see a lot of red flags. You're not as good as you think you are". (She sang the song Crazy and these words were not said by Bagge, but another jury member) She didn't touch a guitarr for 10 years after that, and now she won over Bagge. He apologized on the jury's behalf all these years later. He did say "bullshit" in response to Cornelia claiming Bagge was rude aswell, but I haven't seen the full audition so I don't know there. Excellent reaction video though! 😊
Theoz is not exactly inexperienced, he has had a numbers of hits singel His breaktrough at age 12 ( I think), and he has like 2 million followers.... Yeah, he is definitly coming back, probably already next year... And John Lundvik has actually done a English version of this song, Lights go low, that in My opinion is much better...
My reaction to the "Emmelie de Forest impact" comment: 🤨🤨🤨 Wasn't Loreen barefoot in her performance the year before? Don't know why I got hung up on that 😂
Just have to comment before watching the whole thing: Me, my sister and her husband is Metal. Okey. And besides Cornelia, Cassio Peia is our go to. Hugs from Sweden.

Hey, for some more Swedish music, but in a quite different style, you should check out some Sabaton! I'd suggest starting with Christmas Truce
My absolute favorite were lillasyster who unfortunatley didn't go to the finals but I also LOVE Medina's song, it got to the finals straight away so I think it has a good shot at winning.
How haven't I seen your reaction videos before? This was great! Although in my opinion Liamoo stood out with the best song while Cazzi Opeia and Medina had the better performances. Cornelia Jacobs was good but you are completely right when you say that this is a common genre in Sweden and I'm kinda tired of swedish pop-emo with a touch of rock-wannabee. Oh well, that came out quite nastier than I intended. It is a good song.
I’m pretty new to RUclips so you haven’t missed much! Love your favourites and Bluffin has grown on me a lot since this video (AND he added dancers for the final!) I’ll be reacting to all of the Eurovision entries once they’re out so I hope you’re ready!! ❤️❤️
I’ll be reacting again when I cover all the Eurovision entries in a future video! I’m a full Hold Me Closer fan at this point, nearly made me cry at the finals 😭

He seems lovely! This video probably seems harsh on him just cos I didn’t want him to be sent but I do like him and the song!

nice to see Cazzi get her moment (imagining a timeline where Batman & Robin was a melfest entry and how wild that would've been lmao)

I feel like the best comparison to Cornelia’s song is Laleh. It def has the same wonderful qualities

Anders bagge is very scared of singing in public
The reason why i just disliiked Medina so much is that 90% of that song is just a blatant ripoff of Bella Ciao.
You keep skipping the good parts of the songs
