    And by the way, i`m a gymkhana rider, and all this tracks, wheellies and high speed`s wasn`t interesting for me. But your channel make me feel like i`m part of the race. I`m laughing with you and all this things become clear and interesting.

    Yet another great video Alberto! If you have tried the electronic programs from other race bikes and they are producing the same bad results when downloaded into your bike, then it will likely be a faulty sensor on your bike. The sensor's give the programmed tune the needed input to work correctly. When all electronic traction control is turned off in the program your throttle wrist is the traction control, so you will be faster because as a racers you know how to use the throttle to keep power to the wheels. My EBR 1190 has only my wrist as traction control, for the most part, so I have learned the track without the electronic benefits of the new bikes.

  • @FCustureri
    @FCustureri 4 года назад +17

    I imagine the Dunlop/Pirelli/Metzler tires are all slightly different in overall height? Has that been adjusted in the ECU? If the traction control uses front:rear wheel speed difference, having different tire height F:R can make it think there is more wheelspin than actual, and then it may intervene more

    • @qscarbrough1208
      @qscarbrough1208 4 года назад +2

      You have a solid point!! My best guess is that Yamaha took that into consideration when designing the mapping for the Traction Control and Slide Control, and to compensate for that, they put 10 levels of traction control standard on the R1. 1-9 and "Off".

    Super again! Many thanks. It is so good to get such content during quarantine period. Thank you! BTW I think that progressive throttle opening from corner apex all the way to straitenning the bike up is not only applicable for 1000. It works on all bikes (my R6 not so much but much more on my GSXR750, probably due to mass and maybe geometry..) It helps lift the rear and find the suspencion middle "sweet spot" for maximum traction!

    At 13:00 " the more you accelerate the more the chain pulls the rear tyre to the front one making the bike shorter and more agile" I hope something has been lost in translation here as the only way the distance between the front and rear spindles can change is through the suspension travel at each end. I guess he's trying to explain the real compressing and the front extending as he starts to accelerate off the bend. Really enjoying the vids though :-)

    check your speed sensor , could be a bad ring or hall sensor , i would lift the bike up and run a probe on the sensor directly and look at the quality of the signal, if thats clean i would compare F and R to see if they read the same speed. if you are using OEM TC with a different sprocket , you could have an issue where the ECU is seeing too much RPM at crank for the speed compared to the wheel speed

    Ducati lower their rear shock height to combat wheelies and give better launches, they've just made that device to alter it whenever they want for corner exit speed increases too. Maybe lowering yours a couple of notches or softening the rear a little will help?

    Measure the sag.
    it sounds like your back was way to low, thats why you wheele all the time, your electronics cut with anti wheele. add a little spring preload at the back or measure the sag.

    I had a 2016 R1M with suspension upgrades, full system & ECU flash.
    The bike was very tricky and sensitive to setup, it is a great bike when in the right zone but one setup for one track doesn’t work for another track - the front needs to be higher so it is at more neutral angle mid corner, engine is heavy and weight transfer upsets the bike, if rear is too soft it will wheelie if it is too hard it won’t grip, other bikes are easier to setup ! I love the R1 but I sold mine, I got another RSV4 now much nicer !

    • @sk2283

    Honestly Naska I think it has to do with your setup the way you lose speed after each corner towards a straight. I mean like when the bmw overtook you, the moment he passed you the speed was the same until he braked too late.
    Maybe that also explains why your bike is quite slow trough the corners and others are able to gain on you. You said you felt like the front is loosing it when you try to make the turn more tight and the rear slides too much when you want to accelerate and help the bike turn or finish the corner.
    As a karting driver this makes to me sence that your rear grip is outweighing the grip in the front. So maybe trying to raise the front ride heigt and stiffen the rear spring and maybe another rake and trail setting might be giving you more flow out of corners? I am curious about your comment! Stay save Naska!😇🙏🏽

    Where's the balance between full traction control and no traction control? I've been doing track days for 10 years now without any electronics and just got my first bike with TC. I went in with the idea that it would be a safety net, but in your racing it looks like you rely on it more as a tool. You ask for more throttle then you need out of the corner and let the TC figure out how much is optimal. Would love to hear your thoughts or see a vid where we watch your right hand control. Super interested in how you manage that.
