Harsh treatment is the worst decision to make. AI or not. All it does is reduce RR by... what? 5 points? 10? You pay hundreds of mil mana for that (depending on development) and get nothing out of it. "Nothing how?". Because conquered land with RR is going to revolt whether you like it or not. Dropping harsh treatment only extends the time to the revolt by a few years. The optimal way to go about this is: 1. Conquer land. 2. Reduce autonomy. 3. Provoke revolt when it reaches 50% chance. 4. Wage new war. 5. Put down a secondary revolt on the previously conquered land. 6. Stuff. Now, the absolutely atrocious thing ive seen people (and AI...) do after conquering land is actually raising autonomy. To that i say "Nice job, buddy. You have a revolting province with over 60% autonomy, which youve increased to 85%, so now you get nothing out of it, while still having to fight the rebels. Brilliant plan."
@@dr0g_Oakbloodit is a like 2012 strategy game, AI being complex in that manner with the sheer number of AI nations would've made the game a slogfest lmao
I think if he continued this game he would just be devasted Thirty Years War Germany style between France and Commonwealth juggenauts. Leaving Rome and Naples as smoking ruins.
I think the main problem that the AI faced in the early game was player warmongering, honestly. Players, especially decent and above ones, pick fights that both aren’t historically accurate behaviour-wise and which seem suicidal. Rather than trying to stabilize in that war, the AI peaced out - but with their debt it didn’t feel safe so didn’t take independence. Or Naples just didn’t feel like winning today. Who knows. Paradox AI is in another realm.
what i do is play with one nation for 30 years then switch to another nation play for another thirty years and see what the AI does with the previous nation, and repeat . its much more interesting than sticking with one nation.
I had something similar one time. But it was multiplayer we were both playing the same nation and when my friend left i had an option to Allow AI to control and i did. You should to... it'll be great
Update: it has been nearly 12 days since the last Laith upload. I can feel myself slipping without my daily dose of Laith’s dulcet tones in my ears. At the current rate, I can feel my sanity flatline within the week
15:28 Sicilly is occupied by Naples, suddenly they peace out, there is a cut and 2 second later we are back in different date and war icon in bottom right corner appeared again HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, i don't mind but kinda what's the point with save-scumming.
I was looking at this reddit post about unique national ideas, and i saw there was quite a lot of strong ideas for Alaska, an interesting run could be as So, form a pirate alaska 😀
You should do it again with Majapahit because that’s a nation that needs the player to be in charge for it to be successful due to the AI not knowing how to deal with the disaster
With all the random shenenigans burgundy can get up to how about doing a coop on them? Perhaps you'll die in a PU but until then the randomness will be fun.
prehaps you could, instead of every 5 years, do it for every government change swap out? ruler dies, swap. regency councel to new king swap. become a republic or monarchy, swap. things like that to better fit a roleplay
I think it is possible to actually play the same nation as the ai at the same time if something goes wrong while joining an mp game. Has been a while tho cant remember how it happened
that was very fun to watch, i would love to see that again. if not the same thing, maybe play as japan, and every five years swap to a diferent dymyo. could be fun to watch you having to fight one of the other tags you were just playing as.
Why would you not have level 2 advisors? I dont get it, you only spend the money on corruption and having like 8 cav regiments, its fine just get the extra mana
AI in India. Unfortunately, the AI in the middle east would probably die to the Ottomans real quick. New World doesn't has a tough enough game that doing it with the AI would just be a painful death. Ethiopia could be neat; as could the far east. Its tricky to think of places that you could do it reasonably.
I've been wondering what happened to will and tom, Ive been watching since it was just social streamers and then one day it was laith social streamers and Tom stopped doin his history videos, and I don't think I ever saw a video with the will guy in their channel art, was it a falling out or just separate ways lol
It would be interesting to let the AI rule but for every monarch death, like you die, AI takes over until their king dies, then you take over and so on
Also would be interesting to play this with a kid that has no understanding of the game to purposefully ruin it lol, just more """"flavour"""" to the nation
For a future video it might be interesting that instead of co-oping with the AI you co-op with an inexperienced player. Either someone who never played EU4 or simply someone with little experience. No communication though obviously, that would ruin the point methinks.
Do one where you switch between two minors at opposite ends of the same continent so that you can se the AI play your other nation but can't do much about it.
Did the AI 🤖 really cause problems, if you take the time it ran the nation as downtime for you? I feel if you just did something else during the time, it would be a faster victory than if you used all your time doing it if you measure by the time you invested.
Naples' AI is hard coded to lean hard into the corruption. It's part of the role play.
It seems the devs know the Neopolitans well.....
Part of IRL Italy. A country where everyone is so proud, but they also all hate each other
I'm glad someone else made that joke so I didn't have to. :)
And getting invaded by sand people
Not funny
AI carried this vid
It's crazy how much the ai seems to harsh treatment and still fails to rebels regularly.

The devs probably made the AI spam Harsh treatment because it’s easier to do than making a more complex anti-rebel behavior
@@dr0g_Oakbloodit is a like 2012 strategy game, AI being complex in that manner with the sheer number of AI nations would've made the game a slogfest lmao
I bet the AI gave land to Castile instead of demanding independence because it wanted to avoiding losing trust with Castile
Now you can co-op with an AI in a Vicky game and give Tunis an actual chance
What do you think laisse faire is
I’d like to see a part 2. Or you doing it again. This is so delightfully cursed though it would be a shame to not continue it.
I think if he continued this game he would just be devasted Thirty Years War Germany style between France and Commonwealth juggenauts. Leaving Rome and Naples as smoking ruins.
I legit clicked in thinking "there's no way he found an AI that could be taught to play EU4"... I don't know how to feel right now.
Unfortunately for poor Laith, you were absolutely right.
How do you think the NPC nations run?
@@UniDocs_Mahapushpa_Cyavana They don't
@@Dark_Detectivehe use counsel command s
This looks like an incredibly fun way to play, the AI truly is a wild card making the game more difficult and interesting for seasoned players.
This is just Paradox Mp when someone out of syncs and letting the ai take over simulator
Disconnecting every 5 years and coming back 5 years later, yep seems like an average EU4 MP.

Dang, I wanted to see the birth of Italian Columbia, the very real and very historical colony of Italy.
what i do is play with one nation for 30 years then switch to another nation play for another thirty years and see what the AI does with the previous nation, and repeat . its much more interesting than sticking with one nation.
the pain you felt from the AI is the pain I feel when you throw your entire army onto a siege, especially when the enemies have no more armies
I had something similar one time. But it was multiplayer we were both playing the same nation and when my friend left i had an option to Allow AI to control and i did. You should to... it'll be great
Hope this becomes a recurrent format. It's wierdly pleasing to see the pain the AI can inflict you

The AI took laith out
Alternate clickbait title i Co-op Eu4 with Drew Durnil
So this is why eu4 had the "psychological horror" tag some time ago. xD
Thank you Sneako Rami Malik for the great EU4 content.
Continue this game, or if you do another AI co-op we gotta see some colonial gameplay
Man i forgot this video was an hour long at the end i just felt like i just watched a 16 minute video
Keep playing! This is a cool save

I really want to see colonial Italy
I was looking at this reddit post about unique national ideas, and i saw there was quite a lot of strong ideas for Alaska, an interesting run could be as So, form a pirate alaska 😀
Alaska's national ideas are ridiculously strong.
This was a great video concept:)
Would love to see this again some day in the future xD
id like to see you go for a world conquest as co op with the ai
You should do it again with Majapahit because that’s a nation that needs the player to be in charge for it to be successful due to the AI not knowing how to deal with the disaster
very much enjoyable. Would love to see you do this again
Would be fun to see you do this again with either Ming or maybe Mamluks
Now there is only one thing you should do.
Do a world conquest like this......as a horde
really enjoyed the concept of this video :)
POV: you’re the president in a two party system
I clicked on this vid so fast. This is hilarious. Please give us more!
Should've co-oped with the synthetics
This was so good, would love to see another one of these.
This was a lot of fun to watch, I felt the dread everytime the Ai was about to take over.
In HOI4 you can do human_ai into the console and have the ai work while you are controlling a nation
It ruined so much...
This was actually such a funny video please can you do more like this
With all the random shenenigans burgundy can get up to how about doing a coop on them? Perhaps you'll die in a PU but until then the randomness will be fun.
Laith made a video again where he gets bullied by the AI? Always love these ones 😄
Of course you pick Naples for a co-op game
This is just like a democracy! Every 4/5/8 years policy gets suddenly radically altered.
co-op with the ming AI
Could you do another but you switch every time the ruler dies?
prehaps you could, instead of every 5 years, do it for every government change swap out? ruler dies, swap. regency councel to new king swap. become a republic or monarchy, swap. things like that to better fit a roleplay
you should do this again but you swap every 1-2 years

Why
So just two bots?
absolute disrespect
I love my wife.
Hell yeah dude

that was very fun to watch, i would love to see that again. if not the same thing, maybe play as japan, and every five years swap to a diferent dymyo. could be fun to watch you having to fight one of the other tags you were just playing as.
nice a drew durnil collab
The only upside of this cursed game is that you can probably bully the Ottomans.
So, you can colonise the Americas from Italy by the 1500s with diplo tech 10 or above ? Seriously ?
If yes, I am both confused and excited.
Yes
do this, but with the byzantines lol

commonwealth was a menace in this game
Day 6 of asking Laith to play as a Viking Samurai in Rajas of Asia
You should do this but instead of every 5 years, you should switch with every ruler.
thats such a good idea for a campaign
God I have an anxiety attack with the ai in charge cause it seems like all they want it to destroy their own nation
Day 129 of asking for an Oranje Free State Playthrough of Vicky 3...It's surprising how long it's been now in retrospect.
AI in India.
Unfortunately, the AI in the middle east would probably die to the Ottomans real quick.
New World doesn't has a tough enough game that doing it with the AI would just be a painful death.

How about a co-op with redhawk to make a gran tunis
Day three of asking for Laith to play the Trolls in Anbennar.

if you ever do this again consider using the xorme mod. the ai would actually be useful that way. great video btw
Is their a slider for how good the A.I is when taking over a nation is or that just for multiplayer?
38:53 oh no...oh nonono France what is this, that succescion war seems worst by the day

I like the idea of a multiplayer of this
More of this!
this was awesome!

Should have given it 10-50 years. Just so it could mess up your game even more.
Thought you were going to use ChatGPT or something. Maybe in the future?
You should do an ai co-op as an opm in the hre.
do this for ck 3
mabe switch every time your leader change
You say the AI is bad, but I have seen on your very channel the Burgundy AI upstage your Montferrat run
It would be better if you did it every time your king died, cause it would make sense, like the russians in the 7 years war
Day 105 of asking for you to play Victoria 2 as cuba and become Fidel Castro
whats the command to switch from AI to Human?
Which video is it from?
looks like my average Tunis game
Ai coop as Ming :))
Wtf is that nightmare fuel mrbeast-esque thumbnail
