Noone in the history of sports probably, in football for sure, has ever been in Messi's place. And he did it. For most greats, the world cup was the reason they became greats. That meant that they won it without pressure. Messi is the only player that was first agknowledged as the best and afterwards a world cup was demanded of him. Mbappe has already won it without having to carry. So he has already checked that box. When Pele won it he was 18, noone knew him. Maradona was not considered the best before the world cup.
