    Fiat reliability has been poor since the 80s. Fiat Uno, Fiat Panda etc. When Dodge/Chrysler partnered with them, that was a recipe for disaster.

    Fiat, Ford, VW, Chrysler and BMW. What a shock. 😧 Same today as it was in 1980. Nothing changes.

    I’d like to throw in a lot of Hyundai/Kia products because they’ve been blacklisted by most insurance companies after the “Kia boys” figured out how easy they are to steal. I bought a 2018 Elantra 6MT to use as a daily and when I tried to insure it I found out it had been blacklisted. GEICO still covers it but I pay over $200 a month for insurance.

      not only that, both brands had engine failure, literally millions of them. Hyundai and Kia push back on repairing many of them.

      That's funny because they're not even the most stolen vehicle in Canada or the US.

      Higher trim levels that have keyless Start-Stop buttons rather than the traditional key cylinder ignition switch, and most V-6 models aren’t affected.

      @@JBM425 yeah but Kia Hyundai cheaped out on the lower trim models and tens of thousands of them have been stolen. Don’t forget about the ones that spontaneously combust because of leaky brake fluid so you shouldn’t park them in a garage SMH

      @@Blue-moon12 In my neighborhood, they've been targeted a lot. If they haven't been stolen, the window was broken and an attempt was made. Happened to one of my co-workers. Last year, her window was broken and the ignition was messed with and broken. She got it fixed then a few months later, it was actually stolen. But they're already cheap as it is. Can't make much from them

    It’s not just BMW. Mercedes-Benz and Audi are also expensive to maintain. It used to be that least M-B and BMW were reliable, but over the last 10-15years they have been using cheaper plastics on engines that used to be steel or more durable plastics, guaranteeing more frequent trips to the mechanic. Also, if you follow most luxury brand dealer maintenance schedules and change oil every 10,000 miles, you are guaranteed to have major engine damage before 100K mikes. Get the oil changed every 5K… oil is cheaper than a blown engine.

  • @MJA5
    @MJA5 29 дней назад +9

    You can’t really take this list seriously if Hyundai and Kia is not on it. Both brands had literally millions of complete engine failures requiring engine replacement that the company was sort of willing to pay for if you fought with them long enough. They were finally sued snd the NHTSA got involved. This huge problem covered both brands and was usually preceded by massive oil consumption (the problem is in the engine internal oil system being blocked from debris in engine manufacturing.) Do yourself a favor and avoid all years all models of Hyundai Kia.

      I see a lot of Hyundais and Kias driving around. If these are that terrible as you say, wouldn't be this many around. I had a 2018 Stinger GT, ran up to 50k miles before I sold it. 0 issues, and only regular maintenance.

    • @JBM425

      Most of those defective engines were four-cylinder models. The V-6s have been much more durable.

    Hyundai-Kia is not on the list, because they are so great, they doubled USA sales in only 20 years, surpassing Stellantis and American Honda. Now, only behind GM, Toyota, and Ford.

      They doubled sales in twenty years because they were hardly selling cars in The USA 20 years ago. Try to get parts for a 15-20 year old Korean car. Good luck.

    BMWs (and other german cars) can be reliable, you just can't neglect maintenance. That's the difference between German cars and Japanese cars. German cars are made with high-end parts aimed at high performance but they'll degrade if you don't take care of them. Japanese cars are made with durable parts but not really geared toward performance. You can get away with not being on top of the maintenance schedule. American cars just suck. And American drivers usually don't take such great care of their cars
