I actually think he didn't notice it cuz he was too busy staring Will's painting, cuz if you watch closely you can see that his eyes were pointing in the painting

The duffers always love to foreshadow stuff. Mike and will standing between two couples in the end what exactly are they hinting at there lol 👀. And I just wonder if Mike and el are going to be broken up next season cause she was distant with him in the end they both look done with each other tbh. I mean you would think they would talk after that monologue but they didn’t instead Mike and will talk. Will basically told Mike to say all those things to her I mean if will didn’t tell Mike all those things would mike have said that all to el? Its like he said that cause she needed to hear it. It took her almost dying for Mike to finally tell her and he didn’t even save her max did and he focused more on her powers than her actual self not how he feels about her without her powers. So maybe she thought he didn’t mean it? Because it didn’t sound genuine at all people should really pay attention to details but it shows that they don’t if they actually believe what Mike was saying cause he said similar things what he said to will or what will said to him and if you watch the earlier seasons and every single scene between Mike and el you would know his monologue doesn’t make sense at all The duffers always said to pay attention to details cause it’s important in the show. Mike and will relationship developed a lot this season they were actually genuine with each other but Mike and el relationship didn’t develop and they weren’t genuine with each other. So I just wonder was any of that foreshadowing something. I think mike was better in season 4 then he was in season 3 so I think Mike Lucas will and Dustin will be front and center next season as the duffers said the last season will be similar to season one pairings and I know eleven is part of that group with the boys but she could probably end up becoming distant figuring out the whole thing with Venca and max and if there heading for character development similar to season one and season two vibes I think it does make sense for Mike and el to be broken up there to codependent and definitely need space. Mike and will relationship has been building up from the beginning Noah said this so honestly all this build up and focus with Mike and will relationship for what like at this point if there not endgame what was the point? It just makes sense if they are endgame sense all the signs have always been there. Mike having feelings for will but just not knowing how to deal with them so he pushes him away and will well it’s always been obvious with will especially after the painting scene the most and sense Noah finally confirmed it. Finn probably hasn’t said anything about Mike feelings cause that probably just gives out a spoiler. Duffers said there are surprises and twist in the last season maybe Byler finally happening is one of them who knows.
2:33 I commented this on the other video with vickie and robin, but that is a very similar shot where robin saw vickie with her boyfriend except will is the one who is blurred out here.
Is it just me who feels bad for Mike in this scene? Everyone thinks about Will but Mike was really struggling and nobody thought about that. I was just happy that he had such an amazing friend like Will who clearly made him feel a lot better
Another comment on the last scene on the sofa.... Will is almost ashamed when he says "he's not" he doesn't want to talk about this ... But Mike... Mike he can trust, not to judge him or blame him and there's such genuine fear in Noah's deliverance, and Finn was right there to go with it and be scared but reassuring at the same time... I have not seen enough edits or posts about that scene
I just want them to end up together. Because they’re first of all adorable, but I also don’t think Eleven should be in a relationship. I think she do love him, but I don’t think she’s in love with him.
It’s pretty obvious that Mike is straight and isn’t interested my guy. It’s for the best tho. Will needs to find someone better than Mike. Mike became such an ignorant character now and Will’s obsession over a straight person is not healthy.
@@Sassywizard I absolutely get what you're saying but if you search up "byler proof" or something like that they actually have some potential in ending up together. But it's also true that IF mike is straight its sad that Will is so in love with him
it's so damn obvious that wills talking about himself in the first scene i can't take it I JUST WANT WILL TO BE HAPPY AN INCLUDED AND FOR MIKE TO REALIZE EVERYTHING UGHH
In the beginning of ep 1 el says she doesn't know what hes painting. So Will is lying about El asking for the painting, and if you replace El with Will when hes talking about the painting thats really what he meant but he didnt want to tell Mike he loves him (which is now confirmed) THIS SHIT SO SAD GOD.
Will is literally holding Mike and Els relationship together atp im sorry 💀💀 El and Will both deserve better plus therapy and mike needs to open up to his emotions
watching this brings back memories from summer because i kept getting st content on my recommended and shorts so i decided to watch it for the first time and holy shit i got addicted so much. the main reason (not like there are many other reasons, which there is but whatever) i was like, “fine. yk what? let’s watch it.” was because i saw a byler short with the s3 fight on it and i thought, “holy shit. what a cute ship,” and then i slowly got into byler while watching all of the released seasons (which took me two weeks to watch. i watched it everyday and i remember screaming at some scenes because my parents weren’t home, it was 5 PM, outside was gloomy, the house was dark with no lights on and the setting was ultimately perfect). i grew out of my stranger things phase until now, when i decided to just binge watch through s4 and i think i’m slowly getting hooked again.
That’s it 🤓I mean I don’t even doubt these two are in love with each other, like come on and I binged watched the whole show in like a week and a half a couple of months ago and I can’t call myself a shipper but I can’t deny the obvious…like just look at the eyes they’re making towards each other and their facial expressions, that alone tells you everything there’s to tell 🫠
Me also thinking how in the last scene everyone was in pairs, like Joyce and Hopper, Jonathan and Nancy and then there's Mike with Will 👀 I mean don't get me wrong Ik full well it's bc El as the main was standing on the front so they stayed together, BUT you never know if later on it could change into a clue or just a hc.
I feel like that could be a clue but at the same time i don’t really know because if Nancy and Jonathan stayed together it would be pretty odd for their younger siblings to date
@@-Jada- I meant the relation between Mike and Will isn't that of blood or anything in that matter so why should it be wrong? If we go by that logic, El is technically adopted by Joyce so what about that? I see no logic in this.
@@sasusakuuchiha12i understand what your saying except el isn’t actually Joyce’s daughter while Mike and will are blood related to their siblings who are dating eachother
asdfghhgfdsdfghjhgfdsas okay I'm gonna ramble for a moment because there's a specific little moment in the van scene that not many people talk about that still drives me insane: Will hands Mike the painting. As Mike unfolds it and sees it, realising it's a gift for him he says "This is amazing. Did you paint this?" But that's not what Mike means. Mike knows Will is an artist, he has his drawings hanging on his fucking basement. He already knows Will painted it, he told him at the airport [It's just this painting I've been working on.] What Mike _REALLY_ means is "This is amazing. Did you put all this effort and time to make this _for me_ ?" It means so much because Mike was denigrating himself, saying he wasn't special or that he didn't have anything to offer, only for Will to show him the complete opposite. They mean so much to me I swear 😭😭😭💙💛
I appreciate these comps bc the byler storyline has absolutely the most real-feeling dynamic to me this season, but I do want to make the argument for a positive future for these two where they don't end up together (bear with me.) I agree with others who have said that Mike's looks at Will this season are great acting and very significant---they clearly communicate a deep care, concern, and love for Will. HOWEVER, I think they serve as more of a parallel with Jonathan's looks this season than with Will's longing heartbreaking ones. I think we can all agree that Jonathan knows Will is in love with Mike, and that is communicated to the audience through his knowing concerned looks as Will edges closer to heartbreak. That's very similar to what I see in Mike. After the "what about us?!" fight with Will, he starts paying more attention, and I think we're meant to see him putting the pieces together and sort of waiting to see what Will is willing to share, in a similar way to Jonathan but in a slightly more immature, not comfortable talking about emotions, very Mike™ way. He has known for a long time that Will "doesn't like girls." He knows that El didn't commission that painting, and that she perceived Will's intensity over it to be that of a crush. I think a major part of Mike's growth this season is in realizing how his actions affect the people who love him, El and Will specifically. His conversations with Will are real and tender and important as he grows his understanding of what their bond means to Will and how important it is that he not push Will to the side. He obviously cares a lot about Will, we've seen it over and over again. But here's the kicker: I don't think he has or will have romantic feelings for Will, and THAT'S ULTIMATELY A GOOD THING. I know, I know, hear me out. I obviously don't want a full on queer bait scenario where Will never gets to come out and they go on their merry way as "best friends." I do see great value for both Will and for the representation we see on screen, however, if their future involves an opportunity for Mike to openly share his care and understanding with Will and with whatever world remains, for this to be his version of the Robyn/Steve moment where he shows Will he's his ride or die friend and ally, even though he's straight. Will deserves closure and growth of his own, he deserves to learn from himself and his friends that HE is in fact the heart of the group and gain a new level of self acceptance and self confidence as his brother and his friends learn that he is gay and continue to love and support him. He's going to be a big part of defeating Vecna, and I expect and hope that this personal growth coincides with that. I want him to get past the crush on the straight best friend phase so many of us had as queer teens and have opportunities for a blossoming romance with an adorable gay boy who Mike encourages him to talk to. Learn from Steve, Mike, being the supportive straight best friend can mean a whole lot to your nervous gay 80s bestie. End of essay.
well articulated, but they've already done that with robin and steve. so it would make mike and will look like a rehash of that dynamic, especially with robin's nervous energy. they will do everything you said re: will - his journey will be his own, not just revolving around his love for mike - but the shocking twist that would elevate this show is to have mike being in love with will in return; especially because it reframes so many of his actions in earlier seasons, where he may not already have developed feelings, but certainly cared greatly for and accepted will. in s5 I imagine mike will be on his own personal journey, and it will collide, at the end, with will's to bring them together and perhaps leave hawkins together too.
I don't know why but I never felt mike loves eleven ..yes he loves n cares for her so much but not as she is her everything..he said all that love thing becoz he doesn't want to lose her ..he has already said countless times that he us scared of losing her that's why he never was able to confront n tell her that what she thinks is not true ..there are scenes where he is trying to talk to her and want to say something but always interrupted by someone...
At this point I just wanna say one thing.... Jonathan please do some justice, like you're literally the only one at this point who constantly looked at will when he was breaking. Like literally someone say something for Will I can't it's so hard to see him suffer..... Like I'll be happy if Will becomes free by leaving literally everyone behind and going somewhere else and just yeah starting anew.... Aaaaaaaaaa!
I feel very bad for Will, we all know in season 2 Mike was with him the whole time conforting him, and taking care of him. But tbh I kinda hate El I mean I never liked her. I know she has nothing to do with Mike being rude to Will tho. Mike is a selfish brat all of a sudden. It breaks my heart. We all see in 2:59 that Will feels left out. And Jonathan notices that. It breaks my heart how much Mike has changed. Will was his closest friend in season 1/2. We all saw how he protected and took care of him the whole time he had the Mind flyer thing. He slept on the floor just so he can take care Will. People can really change a lot these days. Well I hope Will will tell Mike how he feels about Mike not giving him any attention and being rude to him. I feel really bad😢
I dont mean to add more negativity here but in season 2 did you notice that he was fully focused on Will when he thought El wasn't coming back but still made so much effort to contact her every night? I really do think if El had came back earlier in season 2 Will would have then took a back seat in Mike's eyes, yet again. Its really sad how much Mike ignores will when El is around, and yet that's nothing to do with El that's Mike. Hopefully in season 5 he starts to treat him with some respect as his bestfriend
what if season 5 theory be like vecna take control over will and will confess his feeling to mike and while mike reject will decided to fight eleven cause he is controlled by new vecna while doing it will byler die
Yeah don't worry, we know it's not gonna happen, Will clearly likes Mike, but Mike likes Eleven, and I just feel really bad for Will. But I am glad Jonathan is accepting even though Will hasn't told him yet, he tries to be supportive and it's great
I want byler to happen only bc I want Will to be happy but you are right. After that love confession (as underwhelming and bland as it was) , I'm sure that they won't break them up
@@snowchips9596 I don't know to be honest eleven is after the monologue really distant and in the end mike & will are standing between two couples lmao
if anything it made it stronger. i'm not a byler shipper necessarily, but the duffers purposely made that monologue unauthentic for a reason. don't you find it strange that mike used will's exact words in that monologue? that he was only able to say all that to el after will told him to? the duffers did that on purpose, we're supposed to notice mike's unauthenticity. mike also only focuses on el's powers yet again. he doesn't romantically love her, he is fascinated by her. and el realizes this. that's why they stated el hasn't spoken to mike since he said all that. mike and eleven are not getting back together. the duffers have stated that their relationship is like a cringy middle school one and both millie bobby brown and finn wolfhard have implied that their relationship is over. we were supposed to take notice of that, especially in the end when the couples are all standing next to one another and then the flowers mike gave el died, a metaphor for their "love" officially being dead. mike's monologue was will's words, we're supposed to notice that. we can assume it's supposed to connect to what the episode's title is "piggy-backing." if we connect it to this scene, mike is piggy-backing off will's words and using them to save eleven. we are supposed to take notice of the unauthenticity, just as el does.
I have to be honest her, if The Duffer Brothers wanted a Mike and Will romance to happen. Don't you think that they would have done that back in season one, instead of dragging out the Mike and Eleven romance. I mean y'all can't be this blind or oblivious.
They are very much a real ship. Noah said Will is gay and in love with Mike and it’s been implied that Mike could possibly feel the same way towards Will as well. All the clues are there weather you like it or not.

You literally took the words out of my mouth.
Thank you❤
2:33 I commented this on the other video with vickie and robin, but that is a very similar shot where robin saw vickie with her boyfriend except will is the one who is blurred out here.
Yeah I noticed that too, it's gotta be intentional. I think they're setting up a love triangle
Yup that was 100% intentionally done
1:43 "and she always WILL" dang if the duffer brothers didn't make it obvious enough that he is talking about himself :(
2:45 i love this little clip sm
@4:56 Notice all of the couples standing next to each other. Its probably a hint that these couples are end game.
Is it just me who feels bad for Mike in this scene? Everyone thinks about Will but Mike was really struggling and nobody thought about that.
I was just happy that he had such an amazing friend like Will who clearly made him feel a lot better
Ur not the only one I agree with you!

Writing a Fanfiction and this serves as serious inspiration.
sameeee

Notice in the last scene how the couples are on the hill Johnathan and Nancy Joyce and hopper and mike and will :0
y'all notice how in the last scene their breathing was synced...

I dont think any of the 3 should end up together tbh

watching this brings back memories from summer because i kept getting st content on my recommended and shorts so i decided to watch it for the first time and holy shit i got addicted so much. the main reason (not like there are many other reasons, which there is but whatever) i was like, “fine. yk what? let’s watch it.” was because i saw a byler short with the s3 fight on it and i thought, “holy shit. what a cute ship,” and then i slowly got into byler while watching all of the released seasons (which took me two weeks to watch. i watched it everyday and i remember screaming at some scenes because my parents weren’t home, it was 5 PM, outside was gloomy, the house was dark with no lights on and the setting was ultimately perfect). i grew out of my stranger things phase until now, when i decided to just binge watch through s4 and i think i’m slowly getting hooked again.
I want this to have a happy ending but realistically-😩

why is mike looking at will up and down 🤨🤨
That’s it 🤓I mean I don’t even doubt these two are in love with each other, like come on and I binged watched the whole show in like a week and a half a couple of months ago and I can’t call myself a shipper but I can’t deny the obvious…like just look at the eyes they’re making towards each other and their facial expressions, that alone tells you everything there’s to tell 🫠
this hits different now
ok but like watch mikes eyes when will says "can i show you smt" in the van

I think will is the heart not mike, he just has wills heart.
@@-Jada- I mean there's no real relation so I don't think it's smth bad.
@@sasusakuuchiha12 Mike is Nancys younger brother and will is Jonathan’s younger brother, you don’t see something wrong with that?
@@-Jada- I meant the relation between Mike and Will isn't that of blood or anything in that matter so why should it be wrong? If we go by that logic, El is technically adopted by Joyce so what about that? I see no logic in this.
@@sasusakuuchiha12i understand what your saying except el isn’t actually Joyce’s daughter while Mike and will are blood related to their siblings who are dating eachother
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!
will's whole storyline this season was gay yearning and suffering, and i'm TIRED
I know this was like 2mo ago but I saw mike look will up and down multiple times
asdfghhgfdsdfghjhgfdsas okay I'm gonna ramble for a moment because there's a specific little moment in the van scene that not many people talk about that still drives me insane:
Will hands Mike the painting. As Mike unfolds it and sees it, realising it's a gift for him he says "This is amazing. Did you paint this?"
But that's not what Mike means. Mike knows Will is an artist, he has his drawings hanging on his fucking basement. He already knows Will painted it, he told him at the airport [It's just this painting I've been working on.]
What Mike _REALLY_ means is "This is amazing. Did you put all this effort and time to make this _for me_ ?" It means so much because Mike was denigrating himself, saying he wasn't special or that he didn't have anything to offer, only for Will to show him the complete opposite.
They mean so much to me I swear 😭😭😭💙💛
0:36 see how mikes smile quickly turns into a frown when he said el tpld him to make it
I know what you are Micheal

I don't know why but I never felt mike loves eleven ..yes he loves n cares for her so much but not as she is her everything..he said all that love thing becoz he doesn't want to lose her ..he has already said countless times that he us scared of losing her that's why he never was able to confront n tell her that what she thinks is not true ..there are scenes where he is trying to talk to her and want to say something but always interrupted by someone...

sorry but the very beggining. Mikes voice croak …

Mike's monologue to el in ep 9 RUINED any chance of byler happening. Sorry shippers.
After that love confession (as underwhelming and bland as it was) , I'm sure that they won't break them up
Sorry but this monologue sounded so bad and forced 😭
But then why are they bothering with this storyline now if it’s not suppose to go anywhere?
pls do mileven 😩
byler isnt even a real ship 💀
Boo, you better be joking
They are very much a real ship. Noah said Will is gay and in love with Mike and it’s been implied that Mike could possibly feel the same way towards Will as well. All the clues are there weather you like it or not.
LOL ?
Knowing that Will's breakdown in the van was improvised gives me a bit of hope, like Mike noticing it wasn't in the script directions so... eh idk.
