- Most will agree that the new 2022 Toyota Tundra has a massive grill and bulky plastic bumper. I knew when I bought the truck that I definitely needed to do something about the ugly oversized front end and weak factory protection that comes on these trucks. So I took my Tundra to CBI Off Road fab to have their latest full protection plated bumper, skid plates and rocksliders installed. After cutting away the plastic bumper and upgrading to a steel winch bumper from CBI my truck not only looks much better but I can now mount a winch, led lighting and of course protect my investment. I'm a big toyota guy have a 21 tacoma off road loaded but I low key hate the new tundra the previous trd pro looked so much better I dunno maybe it will grow on me

Interested to see the balance of need for bigger tires to match the rest of the truck and still keeping a good setup for towing. Gears and 35’s seems like it would be solid.

The shutters/louvre helps he see t the engine faster in cold temps. Think how a diesel covers the radiator in the winter for more consistent temps.
Now the rear needs a bumper! Delete more plastic.

Curious, but how much length did the new bumper add to the truck? My garage is 240 inches and I know I could fit a stock Tundra in, but the bumper looks great!

I got the same bumper and a trd grill installed but my front sensors are going on/ off out of no where and when i reverse it doesn't start beeping when im real close to a vehicle did something get discalibrated
Put a winch and lights on that thang to cover that huge azz grill. Looks good B

Do you have the 10.5" rear axle with e-locker? Also, have you thought about the LSK +4.5" long travel front end kit?
LSK doesn’t have a 4.5” over for this Gen Tundra. If you have a 2nd and 2.5 Gen Tundra LSK has a great kit for kit. Works well with King or ADS shocks. Just have a fabricator that knows what they’re doing install it. I recommend SSBuilt. They have a great relationship with LSK.

Max how obnoxious is the prinsu rack while driving at higher speeds? I have a light bar installed on my tacoma and once I'm up after 35 mph it starts to get loud. I'm asking cause since the prinsu has that deflector I'm wondering if it helps with noise reduction
It will still make wind noise, but to me it’s pretty tolerable. I think the deflector would help you
The louver is suppossed to increase MPG on the highway. 4:30

Dude, it looks sooo good!!! Makes me miss my 2011 silver tundra so bad!! The thing I did that was so small but completely changed the look was a chrome delete. The black on silver just looks so good!

were you able to turn off all those annoying alarms? is there a workaround? or an update from Toyota to disable it?
I tool it to the dealer and turned down the volume and sensitivity!

Grill shutters are commonly used to help with drag and MPG. That is not going to help much were this Tundra build is going.
Need cut more of that grill maybe go straight across ? C4 fab got better front bumper in my opinion.

The new bumpers help but this truck will never be as good as the 5.7 second gen. I hate how heavy these new trucks are, and what makes it worse is its the damn engine drivetrain setup thats heavy so they make the body metal thinner and use shitty light weight plastic. I still love the first gen tacos & tundras better. 3 years ago now I spent around 20k buying/modifying my 03 taco trd 4x4. fully armored winch,supercharged new leather interior, navigation.. It makes around 400hp and is 2k pounds lighter than that tundra after the build. Its quick but was even quicker before all the armor. I just couldn't get myself to buy something half plastic with electric motors I can't fix when it breaks. only 1 thing could make it better, wish I had the supercharged 5.7 v8.
