I work out in the Imperial Sand dunes in California. While I was driving through the dunes doing my normal routes. I seen a couple atop of a dune waving me down. Happened to be a dad with his father and all his young boys having a guys trip in their new Rivian. They ended up stuck and spent the night out there and could of spent another night if I didn’t stumble upon them. They said they called 911 they day before and the sheriffs never made it out or called them back. But, once I checked out the Rivian. I aired them down to 20psi and had the owner put the Rivian in an off-road mode and it drove itself right out. I was pretty amazed how far they made it into the dunes at 60 psi tire pressure.
WWWWOOOOWWWW!!! 😯😮😳 That is an amazing vehicle! The Rivian handled the trail like a boss!!! Better tires would make it go anywhere. I'm very impressed!!!!! I'm serious happy to see Tucker, Trevor and Ruby band together. Looking forward to watching more of them.
Good stopping point. Anything harder and the next Rivian collaboration would be with Robby Layton Autobody. That was a super impressive performance by the Rivian.
Ok this is the first real rock crawling video for the rivian I've seen. To be following around that cherokee on 40s is a testament. Had to be some serious obstacles judging how all that rivian clearance shrunk to nothing. Thanks guys
@@NickDeubert I suspect it's because of the range/on-road performance deficit on the off-road routes is not worth it for a daily driver. Still would have been worth it to buy a set for a real test.
George seems like he just likes to have fun. I am glad for this "spinoff" or new channel with all the old favorites. Excited to see what other MisAdventures you guys have in store!
I freaking LOVE that you guys are doing collabs with Rudy! Two of my favorite channels right now. Hopefully Rudy has a video coming out soon. I've had to watch Bleepin Jeep and the OnX Offroad Challenge videos to get fix of Rudy and the RAD CHARGER!

Nah, you guys literally just wanted to see what it was capable of and what kind of obstacles you could overcome with it! Y'all are very respectable reviewers and content creators. 🙌🙌
Yeah it was nice not to have all the snark or fake jeopardy we normally get with this sort of thing. Just some guys having fun seeing what their cars can (or can't) do. I was very impressed how well the software did when one side was high-centred with essentially no grip.

@@moabman6803 Still when is working is great those air-struts are not that weak for such a heavy truck.. Rivian testers spend a lot of time developing and testing the truck capabilities before sales took off in very different environment conditions : sand, dirt gravel, mud, snow and ice on Norvegian ice-lakes, even crossing up to 1 meter deep in rivers so, is a pretty neat pack from the factory.. Other fact that is not at all mentioned in the clip when the Rivian descend down-hill all the way down (and this is a heavy truck) all 4 motors re-generate & recuperate energy filling back the battery pack, which is also very cool.. those tires are not for off-roading are mostly for streets, yet the truck still manage to keep-up & follow that heavy modified Rudycon that cost how much in total to get modified with all crazy gismos for off-road and filled up with expensive gasoline ? i mean yeah this just prove one more time if was necessary that Rivian 's are GOAT...
@poplaurentiu4148 Even with regen Braking it will still burn a lot of power offroad. On the rubicon it used 70% of its battery in 12 miles. I've worked on a lot of high end vehicles with similar components. They are nice until they need replaced. I'm guessing 3500.00 per strut. The weight ultimately is the biggest negative. It's just too heavy. Thats a lot of mass to stop in a collision.
I know you're all friends, and family, but this really captured everything missing from the other channel. Thanks so much for being you and sharing it. 👍
George must do well or have done well for himself for the toys he has. I’m glad he did so we get this content because I wouldn’t do something like that w a new Rivian. Very impressed w how it did. Thanks guys.

Every time I’ve seen Georges driving anything off-road it usually incurs some rather large repair costs hope this one doesn’t. Thank you for putting this out for our viewing pleasure😎
Impressive! Showed this to my bride and asked her if she was willing to let me take a run with her MDX, well let's just say the short answer was No! Glad to see all of you guys having fun!
I love watching you guys!! ❤️. You crack me up! George, I'm really surprised your wife let you do that with her truck!! Love your videos. Good to see Rudy again. 😎
Not the first channel to off-road a Rivian but still one of the most entertaining. The technology in that allows it to go where that suspension should never allow. It really is quite impressive.
The Rivian has a huge advantage. It is built here in Normal, IL. Our roads ARE whoops. Also, I keep wondering why George has Illinois plates on his rides when they cost more than Utah plates. At least we have proper stickers this year! The R1T's biggest problem is the weight. It weighs as much as 2 XJs. That said, it is still impressive and shows what traction can do, even when lugging 7,000lbs.
That was something different!! LOL!! I am amazed at how well the Rivian did. I guess I'm old fashioned but I still would never buy an electric vehicle. Somewhere, sometime all those batteries are going to have to be disposed of and so far... no one has explained to me the process of doing that and how it's NOT going to be a major pollution problem!
Look for a recent video by Jerry Rig Everything, he tours a facility that recycles lithium batteries, from cellphone to EV size. Basically turns them back into lithium ore, plus several other materials. The materials are far too valuable to just throw away.
Thanks! I'll give it a try. I'd like to see how that's done. The carbon footprint from the mining and processing is bad enough. So if they can recycle the batteries with creating more of a footprint or polluting the ground or water that would be a big plus!! @@om617yota8
Duuuuude that was awesome, George has zero cares about his wife’s truck 😂 just like sandy Monroe did in his rivian! On Munroe live 😂🤑 I was super excited to see you guy partnering up with Rudy! This is fantastic!
I want to reply to the offhand "tank turn" comment because I've worked on a smaller scale project where we were using 4 mobility scooter motors to power a 200lb vehicle, and one thing I had noticed was the insane amount of twisting pressure you get when you try to do a "tank turn," no matter how much fiddling we did with our code. With conventional steering mechanisms there's no way to relieve that pressure because while you're turning the tires, they'd have to move perpendicular to their direction of travel and the 2 thing I had noticed on my project was that the pressure would cause the tires to fold inwards and under the vehicle itself and our 1 inch square tubing frame would start to irreversibly bend under that pressure. I imagine that in order to solve that, you'd have to be able to make the vehicle steer all 4 tires independently so that the front could toe in and the rear could do the opposite, but it would have to be able to rotate at such an extreme angle, that if you were to make the 4 contact patches of the tires 4 points on the edge of a circle, they'd have to be able to turn and be parallel to the tangent line at those points of the circle. It's not physically possible with conventional steering mechanisms.
What the...what the...ah man, I've been looking for you guys to collaborate and low and behold .... genius stuff boys!!! Excited to see what's next! Good luck!

Yeah, like these weren't even Rivian's off-road wheel and tire set, so it was really incredibly impressive.

The all-terrain tires for a Rivian are 34" tires, they would have definitely given you a little more ground clearance and tread for traction.
First thing I noticed lol, a set of nice all terrains would help immensely
@@jaydenrodger117 yeah. Impressively it made it without them. Funny that they opted for the underbody shield but got the street tires.
