    Our review of the Lectric XP Lite revealed a bike that was hyperfocused on offering the lowest price possible while being fun and lightweight.
    The XP Lite is a follow-up to Lectric’s ultra-popular XP 2.0. Some slimming down occurred from components and features to deliver on affordability, but the nearly 20 lbs worth of weight shaved off makes the bike sportier and more agile-handling than its older sibling.
    The bike comes spec'd with a 300W motor, 374 Wh battery, 160mm rotor mechanical disc brakes, and a single-speed drivetrain.
    For our XP Lite review, we put the bike through a series of tests including braking tests, hill climbing, and range tests.
    Let us know what you think about XP Lite in the comments below!

    E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡🚴 Would you go for the Lectric XP 2.0 or XP Lite? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

    • @DanielLight
      @DanielLight Год назад +8

      I bought the XP 2.0 a year ago and love it. But if I'd had the XP Lite option then, I would have chosen that. I often throw the bike in the trunk of my car, and also have to carry it up and down a flight of stairs for storage, so the lighter-weight bike would really be a better option for me.

    • @thomassmith7174
      @thomassmith7174 Год назад +5

      I purchased the 2.0 last fall or myself and the Lite version for my wife this spring. I am 200 lbs and thoroughly impressed with her Lite! If I had it to do all over again I would buy myself the Lite version instead of the 2.0. I have NOTHING bad to say about the 2.0 but the weight difference when we travel with the bikes is substantial.

      The lite with a bit more battery capacity would have really hit the spot, I think some buyers will start having regrets once they realize there is a lot of range anxiety.

    • @thomassmith7174
      @thomassmith7174 Год назад +5

      @@pedrofernandez8729 I understand why people think range might be an issue but it's not. I rode 7 miles on the Lite in peddle assist 5 and use 2.3 volts. The exact same 7 miles on my 2.0 used 2.7 volts. My bike was 1 minute and 43 seconds faster than her Lite. Range between the two is likely a wash!

    I've had one of these for over a year now. It's great. If you're considering one, I couldn't recommend it enough. My only complaint, as noted in the video, is I wish it had some kind of latch to lock it in place when folded. But even that is a minimal concern. Totally worth the investment. Would buy again.

    My husband and I have have one. We use it for cruising around the neighborhood, around the camp grounds, and on paved trails. We love the design, that it still feels and looks like riding a normal bike. The ride is still very smooth and nice even though you don’t have a suspension. Being a single speed for us doesn’t make a difference. It does everything we need it to do. It has plenty of power and is quite torquey. They are very easy to ride and maneuver. The cruise control is nice for when you are tired and want to cruise.

    I recently purchased the XP Lite. I am still getting used to it. But I believe it is fair to say that the stock bike seat is uncomfortable and the bike will probably significantly benefit from a suspension seat post and a more comfortable bike seat. Perhaps this is typical for bikes with this build type and more upright driving position.
    I ordered the Lectric comfort package to help- but I am disappointed that I needed to do this. It wasn't a nice to have- but a requirement for a comfortable ride and avoiding injury. I let Lectric know how I felt as well.
    I was reluctant to order the comfort package because of the extra weight and because the so-called "giant seat," while better than stock would not have been my first choice. I looked at a Cloud 9 Seat + Zoom suspension post as an alternative to the Comfort package- but the Zoom post is too small for me (I'm taller).

      Quick take on a short 6 mile loop today in the bike lanes and my 4 mile commute home: Smooth ride, the wider tires take away any road bumps/cracks. I could be spoiled by the throttle of the Ejoe Epik I had, the XP Lite is a bit weaker, though you can look at that as giving a smoother transition re speed. Plan on getting an inexpensive gadget to convert the half-twist throttle to thumb, easier to tap it uphill or at intersections. Had to go to PAS#3 to reach my usual 14-15mph, and PAS#4 too! (I'm a #1-2 PAS rider). Didn't like fussing around to find my average/max speed and ended up shutting the display off and losing that stat. Yes, happy having an ebike commute again (beats the bus LOL), so I am satisfied with it for that. Recommend XP Lite for those who need shorter rides for commuting, bringing on vacation, up to 30 miles maybe for nice reservation bike trails, etc.😊

    Griffin, have you been having bike races with Sam or something? Looking fit these days.
    I think the XP Lite is a great fit for people that want a small and lightweight bike that is easy to transport. Seems like it could be good for RV users and others who might load and unload the bike often or people that want to commute and take the bike inside. I just think Lectric went a step too far by eliminating the gearing on their new Lite. Sure it is $799 but compared to a XP 2.0 it already saves with smaller frame, smaller battery, smaller motor, smaller tires, no fenders, no luggage rack, and no suspension fork. Keeping the 7 speed would have been worth the extra 2 pounds imo. It is always best if you have efficient pedaling options through gearing but you need it even more with lower wattage bikes.
    I'm sure the $799 price point was important to Lectric and idk if they could have included the gearing at that price. But I suspect that if they added a 7 speed option on the Lite that sold for $829 it might outsell the single speed version.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  Год назад +1

    Impressed.... not the bike the the quality of the review ! You did pretty good job! Thanks!
    I was looking for simpler and lighter version of folderable eBikes and this seems the perfect fit (no plan to go uphills).
    For those who worry about single speed, it actually make sense for eBikes with hub motor because the motor works regardless of how hard you push.
    If the bike has center-drive motor, now that is when you need gears because the motor replaced your foot power. This type of eBikes are for mountains and uphills.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  Год назад +1

      We always remind people to not write-off a single speed drivetrain if the motor has meaningful PAS help across the 5 levels. In this case, it does a pretty good job!

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    I really wonder just how 'useful' a single gear is. I would imagine you would have to spend most of the time just using the throttle. As with any speed, you'd be spun out with just one gear. (Or, it would be impossible to peddle without electric assist).

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  Год назад +3

      Tougher without PAS, but not impossible. On any single gear you can treat the PAS level as a type of gearing system if you think about it. Makes you a bit more dependent on riding with PAS, but this particular bike is lighter than most so it can be pedaled without it.

    Engwe c20 pro is a much better option for the price and same size. C20pro has a massive 20ah battery

      It's a little more expensive and a 36v though. Could be interesting though.

    I would like one but I don't know the price but I'd like to have it shipped to me it together so I don't have to put it together I'm not a problem putting bikes together but would really like one send a comment back to me and I will be glad to order

      It does ship fully assembled as it is a folding bike so all you have to do is unfold and go. We do recommend a caual / safe first ride though to make sure everything is in order.

    If you are going to have a channel with "detailed" reviews, you NEED to include the following:
    1) Fit makes or breaks a bike. You need to have a short, and a tall tester, and verify if bikes will fit them (5'-0" to 6'-4").
    2) Fit 2.0: How much ability is there to adjust the bike? Is the stem adjustable? How much space is there between the seat and handlebar (are you too stretched? are you too compressed?).
    3) Ability to lift the bike. Especially on these folding bikes. They are useless if they are so heavy smaller/older riders can't lift them into the trunk.
    4) Step over clearance. Uber important for shorter, and elderly riders (key demographics for this bike). The step over height should be called out, and because frames are different, you should have a tester will limited mobility try and step over, or mount the bike.
    5) Gearing. Does the bike have enough range of gears to 'keep up' with the electric motor? For example, when going 20mph, are you 'spun out' or is there adequate gearing to pedal smoothly? Or on a steep climb (assisted and unassisted) is there enough low end gearing that you are not grinding? Etc.
    Otherwise, great review.

    No fenders, no racks, at $240 more if you want extra battery power! Not a deal in my opinion! This is also a very cheap E bike it’s one step above JETSON’s and Onebot and ebikes! Personally, I’d rather have a one bought a six bar nicer, looking less expensive! This thing looks big and clunky, and really isn’t very inexpensive! If I were to order one of these in Canada, it would cost me well over $1000. Once the exchange rate is added in the shipping, the duty and the taxes! I figured this bike would cost me about $1200 or more and that’s plain Jane with no accessories! Not a deal at all in my opinion ! I got a Jetsson and Haze’s I paid $627 for in total! Personally, I love it, it cost me half the price! So I ordered two of them! And I’m satisfied with the speed! Looks far nicer than this thing does do as far as I’m concerned! electric bikes are on the low end is well it is not a high quality bike! I want a $3000 bike it would be levels above this thing! It’s just another cheap bike out on the market and not even a good looking bike! Therefore, I give it to thumbs down! 👎👎

    I am wondering why this bike got such a pass on poor braking and not making the hill climb. This channel trashes one brand for poor brakes and just gives this company a pay on the back. How about we all demand with our wallets that e bikes all have a minimum of 180 hydraulic brakes? This is a light weight bike that didn’t pass YOUR test. Just be honest. Please. We need it.

      If you want one with hydraulic brakes, you can just go and buy one. You don't need to come down all the way here and trash talk about what you don't like. No one is forcing you to like this bike or to buy this one. What is wrong with you...

    OBVIOUS THAT THIS IS A TOTALLY BOUGHT AND PAID FOR EBIKE REVIEW! Not to mention that this ebike design is quite ugly, as far as being aesthetically, pleasing goes! That, it is not!😝👎👎

  • @6636860
    @6636860 Год назад

    Also, there are no shock absorbers at all, the rear tail light is ugly the way it’s sticking out on some kind of a metal rod, and the cable management looks terrible as well! The bike is ugly!
