Seen Little Feat ten times, including the first time WITH Lowell George waaay back in 1978. Still one of the best concerts of the over 500 I have seen, very memorable. "Old Folks Boogie" is sung by Guitarist Paul Barerre, he also wrote it. Favorite Feat song is "Spanish Moon" from the "Waiting For Columbus" live album, "Tower Of Power Horns!".
Okay big Little Feat fan here. I have been listening to this song probably since my early twenties and loving the lyric ”you know that you’re over the hill when your mind makes a promise that your body can’t fill”. Now at 66 years old I have been living it because my mind tells me I can complete a house project or outdoor work in a certain amount of time and then my body tells me otherwise and my one day project becomes two. 😂
Little Feat lineup at this time: Lowell George-Guitar and Vocals, Paul Barerre-Guitar and Vocals, Kenny Gradney-Bass, Sam Clayton-Congas and Vocals, Bill Payne-Keyboards and Vocals and Richie Heyward-Drums and Vocals.
So glad you enjoyed it (and loved the chair dancing). Little Feat never had a break through song but were always so good. One of the few American groups my best friend could listen to consistently. Now to listen to the album Waiting for Columbus,
I like your description of them as a fun band. But to be a fun band takes much more sophistication and skill than the word implies. Just listening to their music is simply pleasurable. They are an extremely talented band.
Want to add that many people including myself thought based on their sound that they must be from Louisiana or some southern are when in fact these are LA guys. Their lead guy who passed at a young age was Lowell George who was for a time part of Frank Zappa’s band Mother Of Invention. Crazy right. They have many great songs and not all have the humorous tone as the ones you’ve heard so far. I believe you are i for a treat going done this rabbit hole.
52 here. Lol. Little feat is tied fir my favorite album band ever, with Steely Dan. Keep it Rockin Now 💯

66 this year and I can relate.
Do the Fat Man in the Bathtub live version from the Waiting For Columbus album. It's fantastic.

"Oh Atlanta" is a good one, either studio or from the Waiting For Columbus album.
