@SCOTTLMCLEOD I remember before I-75 included Alligator Alley. I studied my atlas diligently as a child as I had never been to Florida and always wanted to go there. I still have my 1986 Rand McNally I got new way back then.
@SCOTTLMCLEOD Actually, where I go (Blue Mountain Beach) is very close to Ft Walton Bch. It's in the Panhandle. I remember Knoxville highway construction for the 1982 World's Fair. I was a child then, but I still remember it. I don't mind I-75 in Ga south of Atl, but I think the ride south of I-10 in Fl is boring. I've never been south of Sarasota on I-75, so that might be cool. You're right, those highways are quite a feat of engineering. Have you ever driven I-70 in Utah?

@SCOTTLMCLEOD Haha, I have hit Atlanta at rush hour and that is no good! I usually leave Columbus about 12 or 1:00 AM and hit Atlanta at about 10:00 so it isn't too bad. Actually we usually go to the Florida Panhandle about 45 min west of Panama City. It would be a little closer to take I-71 on to Louisville and run I-65 to Montgomery, Al where I pick up US 331. I simply prefer I-75 through Kentucky and Tennessee and don't mind the few extra miles. From Atl I take I85 to Montgomery
Does anyone know if this place has 4 seasons? It looks gorgeous and we are looking to relocate but being from the north I need a chill in the air at some point lol
I'd have to say that yes, you're good on the seasons. The area is beautiful in the fall and winters are shorter than they are up north, but they do still exist. How far north are you coming from?
Nice ride, and I agree with you, that probably is the most scenic part of I-75, some really nice views in there, thumbs up!
Tennessee is always beautiful in the morning. That's why I love living here!

Used to make drive through this area about once a month going from London to Oak Ridge. Very scenic indeed
never had the pleasure.... for me I've experienced that feeling leaving Montreal on summer evening around 9ish and entering NYC at sunrise...
