Okay, Brian - I know you might not ever read this - but I just want to say this once and then move on. My Dad - to put it very mildly was not a good Dad, and I've put a lot of work in to not being like him. To do this I've needed examples of men that I admire, and the way you interact with the people in your life is completely and utterly inspiring. When I see you act well towards other humans, I have some sort of architecture of behaviour that I can embody and it helps me piece together a broader picture of competence, compassion and a full engagement with things around me. You're a good man Brian.
Prince, I can empathize with you. Although my dad was not bad, he was himself an only child brought up in a very 1800's family. I feel sorry for him because I came to realize he had always done his best with what he knew, and he did not get much education about being a husband or father from his family. There were many things he had little comprehension about one of which was being a parent/father. When us kids decided in grade school to change how we address our parents, from mommy & daddy to mom & dad, I believe that is when dad phased out tucking us in bed at night, good-night kisses and 'I love you.' After that, closeness was different, we were treated like 'little men,' a subtle change I did not recognize until I was an adult. And when he died I grieved for the fact we could never have a close adult relationship. I agree with you Brian is a good example of a good father, husband, brother, friend. Another person that I think is a very good example of is a friend I did not see often, Steven Covey, but he shared his beliefs in a book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Unfortunately Steven died following complications of a bicycling accident. Through out his book he tells stories of his challenges as a parent and how he made mistakes like we all do. It is very inspiring and I read his book often.

Great job with the wound care! You did great putting that kid at ease as well. I am an ED doc of 20+ years so I see all kinds of wounds. A few basic ideas for future use. Dermabond works best on flat areas that don’t flex at all. Think forehead. It also works best on clean cuts, not jagged ones. That said it will work for a little while to seal a wound and keep dirt out. But the main goal of closing a wound is to hold the edges together while it heals. Covering a wound with dermabond without pulling the edges completely together might even delay healing a little but I couldn’t see that close up well enough to say in this case. The body will close huge wounds given enough time and wound care, so that one would not necessarily have needed closing. Also closing traps bacteria and infection. I suspect it would have been fine with this one to just clean and dress with antibiotic ointment and let it heal up from the inside. That said, most people want a wound closed if possible so even though they often don’t need closure, people often ask me to do it anyway. So I sigh inwardly and stitch or glue them up. Cheers!

We love your vídeos. Surprises me that Brian can fix almost everything but forgot to change the old rusty gas filter on the dingy., we do the most dificullt but take the easyer for granted. I know it´s dificullt to raise a child on a sailboat, but I believe it would be a lot easy if you give her a brother or sis, but if you do a.s.a.p., so they grow up together. Talk to others couples about that. Take care, we wish you all the best winds and sunny days. Malu & Marcos, from Brasil.
I like the sounds (musical snippets) added to the video mix in otherwise empty spaces....it reminds me of the initial charm of the early Delos videos.....very nice touch!
Good job on the repair. A+ for the attention to irrigation and cleaning. People want to close the wound and get too focused on the repair and skimp on the irrigation. Sealing the wound with cyanoacrylate glue (Dermabond) is a bit risky because it seals the wound, and if not cleaned well you can seal in bacteria and foreign material. Also remember, petroleum products will dissolve it, typically someone puts an antibacterial ointment on the glue and ruins your repair, but gasoline, diesel grease, and petroleum jelly will as well. Good job Bri and Kazza. Saw you guys in Nap town a few months back but headed in opposite directions, same thing in Culebra two years ago. Gonna dinghy over one of these days. Cheers
Nice on the ice maker! Cleaning a thing corrects so many perceived problems it's crazy. Even those who don't feel they have mechanical talents can make progress just by taking a look and keeping things clean. Great job.
The flashing light looks like Saturn. When it's close to horizon and passing through more atmosphere the light is broken into colors like a prism. I have seem that exact thing through my old refractor telescope. Once I got a reflector, it was less pronounced.
@@schwags1969 Saturn is visible with the naked eye as it is right now! U have to know where to look but many apps solve that problem anymore. Right now Jupiter is the brightest light in the sky and to its left one can see a much dimmer Saturn, both for most of the night. Later, Mars shows up in the east. All visible even in cities where almost no stars make it thru the haze anymore!!! The moon is beginning to interfere with these observations as she grows brighter....
This video had everything in it: Celebrating love; cooking skill; yacht steering while teething; running repairs (ice maker and fuel filter!); parental wisdom and bonding; and all topped off by Doc Brian demonstrating his best Bedside (Boatside?) Skills! Loved it!
It was a star. One of the ways that we astro-photographers gauge the seeing is how low on the horizon stars don't "shimmer". The lower toward the horizon that the stars are not shimmering, the better the seeing is. This means a stable atmosphere is present and great for photography. Since you had rain the next day (per editing of your video) the atmosphere was likely becoming unstable and causing your phenomenon. Also, stars are direct light and planets are reflected light. Reflected light does not shimmer thru the atmosphere. So they were definitely stars. Next time google online planisphere to help you identify what you are seeing.
If your UFO is just sitting there in the sky and moving roughly along with the stars, then it's probably a star or a planet. If it's moving slowly, it could be a plane or a balloon. If it moves crazy fast and bounces between points in the sky, alternately stopping and instantly accelerating, making impossible 90 degree turns at speed and the like, then you might have a "tic-tac" on your hands, and not even the US Navy knows what those things are. Well, at least not publicly. ;-)
Jim Walton maybe not navigational lights. Maybe have something to do with however their propulsion works. Maybe interaction with gravity make light in some way. Like you it would never be navigational lights on interstellar craft
Let's see where do I start? At 2:43 I learned that Delos' anchor is more than two feet wide. : - ) As far as the lights in the sky, it would be necessary to know the day/date, location, time and which way you were looking in order to tell you if the lights were bright stars or planets, or if they shouldn't have been there at all. But I will say that stars "twinkle" and can appear to change color due to atmospheric distortion. You can download Stellarium for free. It is a program that can show you what the night sky should look like at your exact position. You can set it to be equal to your actual time also. However, on a sailboat, you'll have to plug in your latitude and longitude unless you are near a coastal city/port. It has lots of (world wide) locations already included in its data base. Oh, and it was really COOL Brian how you found and fixed the problem with the ice maker!
I live out in the country so I can see the stars really well. There's always a few stars that look like they're flashing different colors & it's the same ones in the same place nightly. There's a reason for the appearance although I don't think the stars themselves are changing colors. I don't know the reason though lol
@@kit2130 If "the same ones in the same place" are "out" before the true stars are out, then they're geosynchronous satellites. The changing colors (scintillation) is because you're seeing them through a big sideways slice of the atmosphere. If they're there every night, year round, they are not planets.
Brian you have such a calming manner about you, and such a calming voice. It’s so heartwarming in this crazy world to be able to come into your little bubble every week and feel happiness and joy and calm and beauty. Thank you guys so much for taking me out of this crazy rat race every week. One day I’ll have my own boat and hopefully be able to feel the same way. Thank you family. Love from California ❤️

I went to the where's Delos tracker yesterday and noticed you guys are off the Maine coast now. Hope you took great videos of your journey! Maybe you're going north to pick up Brady and blue? Hmm.
Yes the lower on the Horizon that stars get the more they twinkle different color due to refraction through our atmosphere. The brighter the star the more noticeable it is.
marc varner nope a buddy of mine and myself were high one night. We saw this amazing twinkling light changing colors. My buddy swore up and down it was moving. I swore up and dow it wasn’t. So I downloaded a star app, coolest thing ever by the way. You can point your camera phone anywhere in the sky and it will tell you what stars are in the sky where the camera is pointing. That proved it was a star and this other cool thing called google told us why that star was twinkling so bright with different colors. This was in Uganda over Lake Victoria absolutely beautiful place.
Great job with the first aid, back when I was in the Royal Navy I was the medic on-board a fishery protection ship called to help a Portuguese fisherman who had a bad toothache we were hundreds of miles away from port so with the dental kit a temporary filling was put in place, the reward a large bottle of Brandy and a bag of fish! Keep up the good work and keep safe.
Wow... I was writing in my book about those lights you saw in the Bahamas! It was in 2015 and we all saw it - I wrote carefully about and thought something btw US Air force or eventually UFO. Funny that you managed actually to film EXACTLY what is in my Book published in 2017 on Amazon "Weniger ist Meer". Now I wonder even more what it is as it seem to feel comfortable in this area 🤔😉
Rarely in the history of humanity has there been as happy and healthy and well-adjusted child as Sierra. Hey, I'm not complaining about mine - it was pretty awesome, but she's at a whole new level. And the latest updates show her walkin' and doin' some ealry talkin' and hand gestures, so she's rearing ahead with her development.
Dear Couple, well and Sierra :). Thanks for your videos and... could I send you a request? 1 full hour with just Delos sailing by nigth with only waves sound could be my medicine to sleep. Think about it please and sorry if my english is not quite good enough or I have grammatical mistakes :/
My father worked for the US Weather Service back before it was NOAA in Norfolk, Va. One of his duties was to launch weather balloons to sound the atmosphere with small devices called radiosondes. One day back in the late '60s he and a buddy at the weather service strung a series of small water activated lights on one of the balloons and sent it up. Those lights took about 10 minutes to reach full brightness and would last about half an hour or so. They made the front page of the newspaper and also got chewed out by their bosses for all the UFO sightings that came pouring in. I think your UFO was likely Venus low enough on the horizon that atmospheric distortion caused the colors. On another theme: Cooking Channel announces "Cooking on Delos" a show for world cruisers and salty pirates.
The world needs to see this video and how we should work to take care of each other and not be judgmental. It’s always great to see your videos and how you live your life.
I've seen Jupiter behave like that when it's low on the horizon. I see Sirius do that too just after it rises over the mountains to my south. But I couldn't tell you what you're seeing definitively without having been there and seeing the context.
Sir... You both are sooo sweet couple.. And yes you are living actual life.. I am seeing your every video from last 1 week... Your living life given me 1 more dream Thanks a lot.. Love you
With regard to identifying things in the sky, I recommend that you download the free program "Stellarium". You can set your exact location, and then it will tell you what everything within your sight is. And as for Sierra... How ironic that you named a sailor baby after a mountain range. Plus, you're going to spend the next year and a half teaching her to walk and talk, and then the next twenty years after that to sit down and shut up....

End everybody looking up and like- yea we see it too.... laughing what a strong stuff we thought.... glad you guys captured it on video 🤣🤣
6:27 That, my friend, is Planet Rave. At least that's what we called it when I was working camp staff in the 90s. Not sure why, but there are stars that have kind of a strobe effect. I just attributed it to atmospheric / distortion. Seems to only happen when those stars are low on the horizon.

Brian.... I have been involved in all aspects of emergency services since 1984...(police/fire/EMS/communications) as well as 17yrs coaching youth & high school football.... the way you dealt with than child bv was textbook amazing.... down at her level, speaking directly to her, talking your way through every little step to keep her engaged.... yet when you needed a too you were on point with Kaza to get the tweezers. This might seem like gushing.... but I cant count how many times I've had to coach my team members to do exactly what you did.....
You're a great medic Brain, so sweet to the girl explaining what you did. Rule one, if a wound is open for more then an hour better no glue but stitches. Then a Tetanus injection is needed. I got no tip for a long marriage alas. Better go with the flow you've got at the moment. Hope it was Sirius twinkling, the dog star. Else you've seen a UFO indeed XD perhaps that app, Stellarium for info. Thanks for this lovely video.
I have used super glue and applied it as if it were sutures before. In that application it still allows the wound to breath and heal from the depth to the surface.
There is surgical glue and veterinary glue. Different variations of superglue. A good doc can explain them to you. One advantage of glue is that it reduces the need to remove sutures, and the infections they can bring. Having Dermabond in your med kit is certainly the best way to go!
Damn if I can remember who is doing it but there are ballons that are being launched to help cell phone service and they can actually be manuvered and steered using the winds at different altitudes and stay up for months at a time, there is a web site that you can track aircraft around the world and these ballons are on it.

We are at 41 years and counting ... thank God. And I couldn't love my Jo any more. In fact, I'd have to say that I love my wife more now, more than ever! Every time I watch your videos, I am SO impressed by your little family. Amazing people. And I knew when Kazza was pregnant that your baby would be very special, but OH, what a beautiful child Nugget is. Love you guys.
Those four front teeth may be the cutest thing on the planet! And Brian, you’re a born leader! Awesome video!
You guys amaze me! My blood pressure goes down when I watch your videos. I don’t know if it’s the sound of Brian’s voice, the baking of bread and waffles, or the visuals of the ocean and sunsets 🌅, but I sure do thank you for all of it. Fair winds and following seas. Linda in N.C.
I am so impressed with Mr. Delos helping the little girl.
OMG, add Dr. to a long list of credentials for Cap't Bryan. On top of engineer, mechanic, sailor, discoverer, camera man, editor, producer, loving brother, husband, Father and ON & ON & ON. You are one gargantuan impressive human being. You are writing a wonderful piece of personal history for folks to enjoy and cherish for a very long time. Kazza & Sierra ( and many others ) are associated with human gold !
Great episode. A little of everything. Thank you
I’m not an astrologer but my brother was a volcan he said when the moral on a space ship gets low they all get on there pissand get there disco ball fired. Up hope this. Was helpful
You guys are awesome! Always willing to help others is a trait that many lack in today’s society.
you guys are awesome
The famous Brian waffles, in action, with accompanying music, and recipe for all, true selfless love for all, the waffle! Great episode.
I think so ... lido nugget needs a play mate ... so they could say , it wasn’t me or he/she did it not me 🤣
Thank you Delos!
Sierra looks like she is always smiling and happy. I believe that is a reflection of her parents being happy and smiling.
I like the sounds (musical snippets) added to the video mix in otherwise empty spaces....it reminds me of the initial charm of the early Delos videos.....very nice touch!
What an incredible way of life to bring up baby nug.
Isn't she just the happiest baby? Either that or the Delos crew have remarkable editing skills, but I think it's the former.
Please keep on doing what youre doing. I like the evolution of Delos. At first i missed the team. but now i cant live without the fam.
That baby is already determined to take over the helm.
New sailors begin to train early now a days.
Kids emulate their parents. If you let them, they'll start to like it.
Well, her full name is DELTA ECHO LIMA OSCAR SIERRA and she’s been steering since before she was born, what dya expect? aha ;)
Вы замечательные люди! Спасибо вам за вашу историю жизни! За возможность наблюдать за вами с экрана монитора!
Delos to the rescue!!! Smooth sailing and safe seas! And nugget is the cutest!!!⛵🌊💖💖💖
From MacGyver to Mr. Mom! Excellent role playing Breeyawn, you never cease to impress. Fair winds to your beautiful family.
Cheers
Happy the wound was treatable !! Great job, Captain / Doctor Bryan !!! Loved the anniversary party. You guys just seem to make everything happen !!!
you guys make me smile so much. I'm not a happy person, so thank you so much!
Man, Brian, you are one capable, down to earth and absolutely charming fella. No wonder kaza latched on. Never change bro, world needs more of you.
makes me want to hook an LED to a Kite and freak people out.
6 Color changing LEDs in parallel and a 18650 connected with 80ohms resistor in series with the LEDs. Can make a pretty good UFO on a kite.
I put little LEDs on my tiny RC plane, freaks me out even though I'm the operator.
Exactly what I thought it was!
Good job Brian. It’s nice you were able to help someone in need. 👍
Great to see you again for long sail journey. Love from India 🇮🇳 .I'm Palwinder Singh here
Chak de phatte bro.
@@thomas7770 lol... I've used that line many times... never fails
Depending on where you are Saturn is very dim and you would need a telescope to see it properly. My 2 cents.
Maybe Jupiter, satellite or ET!
My first thought, jupiter too. Maybe that was probably another air force ship of some kind, spying on their favorite sailing channel aha
Planets light do not flicker when hitting the earths atmosphere.
You guys ROCK !
Great video !
Cheers mates 😄
Dang it. I want some waffles. Lol. Dr. Breeyawn to the rescue. Your giving/caring personality always shines.
How come it only happened to two specific stars?
I saw the same thing during my Navy days.
Thanx Delos for proving I'm not (totally) crazy!
Well done Delos crew 👏
If your UFO is just sitting there in the sky and moving roughly along with the stars, then it's probably a star or a planet. If it's moving slowly, it could be a plane or a balloon. If it moves crazy fast and bounces between points in the sky, alternately stopping and instantly accelerating, making impossible 90 degree turns at speed and the like, then you might have a "tic-tac" on your hands, and not even the US Navy knows what those things are. Well, at least not publicly. ;-)
just a question, why would a "spacecraft" capable of interstellar travel need to have navigational lights? thanks in advance for your consideration
Jim Walton maybe not navigational lights. Maybe have something to do with however their propulsion works. Maybe interaction with gravity make light in some way. Like you it would never be navigational lights on interstellar craft
Like you I agree is what meant sorry for typos
It could have been the SpaceX starlink satellites.
A tic-tac in your hands? Are you talking about hallucinogen drugs?
At 2:40 in, I have never seen you happier Brian. Awesome dude!
Geosynchronous satellite. Altitude 20,000 mi. Appears to be "still" however we're all rotating 1 earth revolution per day.
Really like the music choices in this one!
"Cooking with Brian"---point on music and all.....I cracked up! Good one! Yet more...followed by "ER Doc, Brian, in What's Your Emergency"? You folks are great.
I went to the where's Delos tracker yesterday and noticed you guys are off the Maine coast now. Hope you took great videos of your journey! Maybe you're going north to pick up Brady and blue? Hmm.
Hi Richard, How do you do to track Delos ?..
Just go to Google and type "where's Delos ". There's several links.
The vesselfinder website is a little more up to date than the delos website.
What a wonderful "beside manner" from Brian!
Yes the lower on the Horizon that stars get the more they twinkle different color due to refraction through our atmosphere. The brighter the star the more noticeable it is.
Jason McGehee youd especially notice it when you see an unobstructed horizon like at sea or on a mountain top, no?
You must be an astrologer!
marc varner nope a buddy of mine and myself were high one night.
Thank you!
Captain is a born family nurse, must be weird to be the big boat with the big med kit but B rises to the occasion real well.
Cheers
The end of the video with the people, sunset and fire...priceless.
Sorry Im late , Amazing man, Super brave lil lass.
Great suggestion! Like a Slow-TV Night Sailing :)
@@svdelos Exactly, thanks for teach me in my future project. :)
Brian your the best! So calm with that girl. Well done!
Great Doctor MacGyver !!
Use the wound glue on the fuel pump leak! 😀
someone commented earlier that petroleum products dissolve dermabond. btw, i know you're joking, im just saying.
So nice to see you enjoying life in these difficult times. Good work on the wound care. Stay safe👍✌️😊🙏🏼⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️
HAHA...Sierra drinking from the bottle! Im pretty sure I have seen Brady drinking like that! Hope you all are happy healthy and doing well!
Sir... You both are sooo sweet couple..
And yes you are living actual life.. I am seeing your every video from last 1 week... Your living life given me 1 more dream Thanks a lot.. Love you
That's why they call him captain much love from DETROIT
Nice job, Doctor Brian!!
GO GO LITTLE NUGGET!! Looked like I missed the waffles, what a treat. What a great bunch out there. Good job helping out the little girl and family. Congrats to a great couple. Sail on my friends
Good job Brian taking care of the little girl. Such a gent. Nugget is crazy! The helm is hers now. Hold me whilst I steer grown up hooman😂.
Pigs in blankets in the UK is chipolattas wrapped in bacon and my god they are delicious. You made mini sausage rolls.
Everyone is going to be on such a downer when all the quarantine family dismantle the boat club and sail off into the sunset but you will see them again. Love from Greg in the UK
Great vibes - what a lovely family you are
Watching from Iceland🇮🇸 dreaming of an adventure on a sailboat 🥰
Best regards.
Fannar I was just watching Itchy Boots and dreaming of an adventure on Iceland 😄
Paying it forward! What great ambassadors you are!
I was sitting with my friends the other night, smoking a joint... later that evening I ask everybody- guys, am I stoned? Or these bunch of stars shining green and red?
End everybody looking up and like- yea we see it too.... laughing what a strong stuff we thought.... glad you guys captured it on video 🤣🤣
Dr Brian. Perfectly handled. Your mellow way of being and total humanitarian is why your so loved by us all
6:27 That, my friend, is Planet Rave. At least that's what we called it when I was working camp staff in the 90s. Not sure why, but there are stars that have kind of a strobe effect. I just attributed it to atmospheric / distortion. Seems to only happen when those stars are low on the horizon.
Dr. Brian to the rescue 😁. You are amazing!!! Is there anything you can’t do ☺️???? Loved that you showed a clip of Laura Vitale!!!!! She is an amazing cook, I’ve been following her channel for years. Enjoyed this video as always guys. Have a nice evening! ❤️👍🏻😉⛵️🌅
I envy you guys looks like fun with your little COVID free party stay safe!
You guys inspire me to live my life to the fullest and depict how there is a life apart from studies and job.
"This is Captain Kirk of the USS Starship Enterprise, is there a doctor in the house?" 😱
Hi Doctor, congratulations on the excellent service! Greetings to you all...... Klaus - R. de J. - Brasil
Damn if I can remember who is doing it but there are ballons that are being launched to help cell phone service and they can actually be manuvered and steered using the winds at different altitudes and stay up for months at a time, there is a web site that you can track aircraft around the world and these ballons are on it.
Project Loon
