That's a great idea with the audio books. They should check out O'Kelly's RUclips channel they're sailors also. He has an ebook about how to narrate and make money
I have been a tinkerer since I was a kid. In the past 20 years I have educated myself in Diesel and Automotive, but after watching your videos my obsession has grown beyond the simplicity of land based vessels ranging from Honda’s to Fire-engines. Including the Sausalito fire boat back in 2005. I never thought I’d obsess over sailing the way I do. I actually have some money saved up for a sailboat. THE HUNT BEGINS! I love you guys and hope to someday see you out there!
As a father of 4, I love seeing new parents find the right balance of safety and activity for their new little ones. Oh and the name of the fabric along the edge is called bias tape.
Nugget, gets to see all this when she gets older! Just think how great that will be! All the stuff Mom and Dad did for her when she was little! Priceless!
Brian and Karin you are making some nice videos. Sierra is the cutest. Good planning for her space since she is getting bigger. Keeping her safe. Looking forward to the Bahama anchorages.
As a pediatric nurse I must say I’m beyond impressed at the parenting skills of both Karen and Bryan! Sierra’s growing so fast and is such a happy baby, it’s wonderful watching her grow as you three navigate the high seas as a family (though I do miss Brady and Alex)! It’s hard enough raising a newborn baby in a home, I couldn’t imagine doing it on a sailboat AND off grid! I pray you all stay healthy and safe, thank you immensely for sharing your experiences and world with us, it’s such a joy to watch. ❤️👶🏼⛵️🌊🌞
They’re doing a fabulous job. I remember when My wife and I had our son. How overwhelming it all was. To think they’re doing it all on a Amel Ketch out in Paradise. That is a Ketch right?
@@Nicholas_Devine Yup, its a Ketch. Almost all models of Amel Yachts for the last few decades have been ketch rigged. Many years ago they had a couple models that were in the 40 ft range that you could get in a sloop rig, but what they have become known for is the general layout you see on the Super Maramu. They key features almost all models share is the ketch rig of course, center cockpit, aft cabin, the wing keel with integrated transmission for the prop, the drop down bow thruster, etc. Many boats also include a good deal of automation which may have been options but is mostly standard of current models like powered winches, the power furling on the Jib and the Main, in-mast furling on the main, the list goes on.... All of this was to make a solid world cruising yacht that is easily handled, comfortable, safe, and reduces stress on the crew.
I discovered Delos accidentally a few weeks ago. Since then I’ve found myself drifting away from my usual political podcasts and towards your oceangoing adventures, squeezing more enjoyment out of each day along the way. Your perspective is much appreciated and I’m having fun catching up on your past seasons. Thank you for such positive outreach. Much needed in this day and age. All the best from Michigan.🍻
I have been a subscriber since 2016. SV delos was the first channel I ever subscribed to on RUclips. While this season has a different pace to it, I still absolutely love each and every video. The pace may have changed, but the Delos spirit is still there 100%. Fair winds and following seas.
Hey guys! Wonderful video! It was a pleasure to meet you and to hangout in San Juan! Take good care! We are about to get a Catamaran, again!! Hope we can sail in a near future! Big hugs! And kisses to baby Sierra! 🤗🤗♥️🇵🇷 Glorimar
The transition from a party boat to a family boat has been terrific. Who knew? Keep up the great videos. They are a hit every Saturday morning for those of us landlocked in CV territory.
When I was a little kid, the TV special Winnie the Pooh was only shown once a year. There were no VCRs, certainly no DVRs. It was less than 30 minutes of sheer joy in a 365 day year, and when it was over, I cried. Every time. Watching Delos is a little like that. Sure, I can re-watch the videos, but I have a hard time waiting for Fridays, my world stops while I watch, and then I feel like crying when they’re done. Seven long, quarantined days until the next one. Really, guys. What you do means that much to me. Stay safe and healthy.
Today's super heros have the superpower of DETAIL ORIENTEDNESS. This is the super power that may just save humanity from destroying ourselves. Thanks for demonstrating how to do this so beautifully!
I am so addicted to this channel. Thanks for getting me through this covid-19 lock down. I love you guys. I have never given out money to a RUclips channel before. Beers are on me this time.. Cheers from Australia!
Kazza, my wife and you are both needle and thread junkies that regularly make "silk purses from sow's ears". We are so impressed with your professional standards for exactness and your frustration when availability results in less than the desired results. None the less your wrapping solution is most elegant and durable. Here's to your essential skills and a deep seated appreciation for your example of superior craftsmanship. Brian, do you realize that your "binding" to Kazza and Nugget is, likewise, by design? God bless you all.
Congratulations for a new milestone of reaching 500K subscriber! As a symbol of your strong SV DELOS tribe, hard work and adventure sailing videos which makes us excited for more. God Bless!
Saw your interview with some news channel reporting on the sailors in quarantine. Its great to see you guys being newsworthy. Keep safe and enjoy each day, day to day.
Another awesome video guys, loved the ending. Brian being Brian, funny . And for all your watchers out there those rash guards are awesome I wear one riding my motorcycle all day and never get sunburned. Take care you guys.
i swore i wouldnt buy another sailboat until my kids were older, and now that they are, i WISH i had bought one when they were born. What an inspiration you guys are! Great people, great parents. Lets meet up in new england(we are in NH). We can meet up and take you for a flight in the airplane up the New England Coast
That was great, as usual. I love the lesson on blowing into the diesel cans, Brian playing with Sierra, and the final 10 seconds of the episode!! GREAT work!!! Thank you!
So I'm curios about something. In watching these various sailing vids from all the different sources (couples) I don't see anyone using dehydrator or vacuum sealer. While I understand power and space is often a premium the ability to store foods that you normally could only have while around ports could be for extended periods would seem to be very advantageous. I dry all the vegetables I can when they come into season such as tomatoes and zucchini squash. I take tomatoes slice and dry them for soup or other stock or place them in bottles filled with olive oil them months later you can take them out to be used on dishes or toasted bread (sun dried tomatoes basically). Any of the squash you can shred, dry then re-hydrate to be used in bread, scrambled eggs, etc. A vacuum sealer keeps things dry and bug free. Even purchased foods will store better once vacuumed and sealed. Things like nuts, cereals and flour which are so good at attracting bugs can be sealed for longer term storage. Just curios.
So sad I missed the first 10 years of the channel, but it's great being able to backtrack and enjoy all your adventures. I love the sea and worked on several cruise ships from the Holland America Line. Your adventures and cruising the 7 seas of the World in a sailboat is just amazing. God's Speed...
quite the adventure y'all are on! now i'm following you closely to see how you manage all the country shut-downs you face. wow. the problems we land-dwellers don't even think about.
If you have a spare cap for the fuel cans you can rig a neat blow hole which makes it easier to pressurize. The cap has two holes one for the tube to the tank one for a tube to blow down for pressure.
Have been following you for many months but just realized I have never subscribed to your Channel. Your family reminds me of many years ago my children and wife told me one day they were moving on the boat! I was out of town when they decided this and I had business and home and all the comforts of land life, and was informed to just come to the boat which had been decided by side and kids was our permanent home! Very long story and the adventure lasted for 14 years. And Yes! My life was turned into my dream by their Choice! What a Privilege! Congratulations on your baby, and your lives on Delos. Thats So Awesome! The best of life. Family Minimal living and an adventure that most don't have the opportunity to experience. I could send you a book and wish I had you tube when we made our decision. I am now in my seventies and kids are grown, My bride of 42 Awesome years is now in heaven and I am wondering how I could jump back on a boat and finish my time here sailing, single handing at my age is possible in my mind I am in great health, however idk bout being one, living the dream of a life without others to share it with and haven't decided what to do. Glad to see you came back to the boat after Baby time! The Best choice especially the way life these days have become on land! My support and Prayers always with you and yours. Regards Lawrence Trapani
Ahoy Lawrence, wow quite a story you have there.... I only hope that I am as lucky as you to have spent so much time with your partner in life. Sending you good vibes and much love from the good ship Delos! Brian

I'm happy to see you all back in motion lol lil nugg is getting so big hope ur new trip is safe and you reach worth no problems I still wanna go on a island tour hint hint lol love you guys 💜
Noticed you were able to use footage from Culebra to illustrate the fuel provisioning. Thanks! I was supposed to be there in mid-March, but... for now any little glimpse of that place will have to suffice, and you guys provided. Fair Winds!
Hey guys! Good to hear from you and hope all's well. If we would have know this virus thing was gonna be so crazy we would have tripled that shopping trip, easy. Sending you much love. Brian, Karin, and Little Sierra
I just love when Kaza says "Brian is turning crazy" with his playing with your lovely little Sierra and says "I'm gonna eat your belly now !". Just love it ! Thank you for these wonderful instants you share with us ! Lol, Patrice (From France)
Hey been watching for a while now and just wanted to thank you for choosing Scott toilet paper I know that sounds funny but my father worked for them for 35 years and I live five minutes away from the plant so again thank you ❤️🎅🤶😎👍
You guys are really amazing.... I had like found you guys two days ago and believe me I binge watched nearly fifty videos ..... You guys are sincerely legends🤙
Brian, that's a cool trick re siphoning. While changing fish tank water, I discovered if I pre-filled the siphon tube, holding shut with my thumbs, then push the top end into tank and release both ends, just a few "thrusts" into the tank was enough to evacuate the air bubble and start the siphon. You may not have to suck or blow, IOW.
I see the transition from getting supplies in San Juan, to fuel in Culebra on the "same clip" the power of behind the scenes ;) good luck crew on the next leg!
for the fuel cans, you could also just squeeze the line to hold the fuel from running out when transferring from the first jug to the others, that way you won't have to pressurize each tank when switching ;)
Beauty the scenery is so beautiful and stunning.Very enjoyable! Reminds me of my trips where I take the good music like the Guns N Roses, Imagine Draongs or the Delta Parole and then enjoy the powerful feeling of the sea. ¡vamos!
Your videos just keep getting better. You've really upped your game. You are likely at the point that you could do video consulting on camera equipment, video editing, continuity of story line, etc. I'm not just talking about the usual "how to make it on youtube" seminars. It would be a valuable service.
Can I just point out how well-spoken Brian is? he speaks very clearly and it's very soothing. That man needs to record audiobooks!
I was about to comment the same thing until I saw yours. Extremely pleasant listening to Brian narrate.
Brother Brady has a wonderfully resonant voice as well. Must be in the genes!
That's a great idea with the audio books. They should check out O'Kelly's RUclips channel they're sailors also. He has an ebook about how to narrate and make money
That's about the only positive thing that can be said about a provisioning video.
Diy boat repairs audiobook. Id buy it ahah

As a father of 4, I love seeing new parents find the right balance of safety and activity for their new little ones. Oh and the name of the fabric along the edge is called bias tape.

Loving these behinds the scenes video segments and great that you can call on friends for help when you need to do a BIG shop.
Glad you like them, and thanks so much for watching! Brian
Brian and Karin you are making some nice videos. Sierra is the cutest. Good planning for her space since she is getting bigger. Keeping her safe. Looking forward to the Bahama anchorages.
I love the provisioning videos. Weird, right? I've gone back and watched them years later. Especially fun when you had to cover 7 adults.
Not weird for me, I love them as well lol.
They are my favorits. I think its a gatherer-thing, we all love to shop food.
I think them provisioning in Asia for 6 months and 7 people is in my top ten Delos videos.
@@ZachD555 - I think I've seen that 3-4 times. Best one!
Stan Ruud I’m the same
Little Nugget is becoming even more gorgeous! Such a cutie!
I'm slowly catching up here! And I can't help to say how amazed I am by all of your skills and how organized you are!! So inspiring !!!

I imagine the workload n the boat is too much already specially with the baby now. But it makes perfect sense.

Music was so good this episode! Kaza great job on the baby safety hold.
for the fuel cans, you could also just squeeze the line to hold the fuel from running out when transferring from the first jug to the others, that way you won't have to pressurize each tank when switching ;)
Seeing the island was the best part!
Beauty the scenery is so beautiful and stunning.Very enjoyable! Reminds me of my trips where I take the good music like the Guns N Roses, Imagine Draongs or the Delta Parole and then enjoy the powerful feeling of the sea. ¡vamos!
I wish I knew that siphon trick years ago. Always learning something new. Thanks.
That siphon trick is genius! Love and care to all three of you.
Your videos just keep getting better. You've really upped your game. You are likely at the point that you could do video consulting on camera equipment, video editing, continuity of story line, etc. I'm not just talking about the usual "how to make it on youtube" seminars. It would be a valuable service.
