Flats may include quicksand. Always helpful to quicken laggards past a sinking sensation. Usually found in water channels where sub- surface flow is in progress. Halfway-bury a' disused bike frame at entry and exit for speed encouragement.
Find a construction contractor in your area that has clean Phil from an excavation that they did and then have them dump it someplace Weatherby your backyard a public park or wherever you could make anything from a pump track or dirt jumps just be sure to plant some trees preferably fruit trees to make it feel like a forest and then yeah. You could also take things a step further and have several dump trucks full of dirt make a small 10 to 20 foot hill and then I actually have a skills area in an area which is previously flat just be sure to plant plenty of fruit trees so you don’t have to leave for snack so you can be there all day if you have enough water.
Something else the city that I may actually build a mountain bike park I still think they could do twice as much as what they’ve already done but that’s besides the point they build it on approximately 130 foothill and the Flagship trail only has about 30 feet of dissent over about 400 feet and yet it’s still awesome. You’re practically squeezing the brakes to make sure you don’t go too quickly.
I've quit my 2005 trail to a speleology recreation site. Other people seeking a steep cycle run on a forest slope found me doing maintenance on my 2015 path. Which was built to deter bike use. Including tight gaps between thick tree trunks and lots of climb- over timber. I was asked to assist their needs and dig them a tunnel between 2 house size rock slabs . Deposited during an Ice Age by a glacier. A hairline gap is between the pair. They volunteered to assist with building wood ramps and cuts through fallen timber. Which I estimated to be years of weekend labor since they were all school children. I'd be expected to work at least two days weekly for three years given distance between summit elevation to valley floor. I declined to step up for a path I'm not using anymore. I've got multiple caverns to explore and aren't interested in the three seconds of transit speed they wanted dug. I recommended an ox team skid road used to harvest timber in 1943-44. Has a spring-fed pond at upper end . For skinny-dipping. Leaving them to build their run off a summit road. Going halfway down an evergreen forest slope to their personally refurbished WW2 industrial road. Yesterday I heard their work noises going uphill in berry brambles. Cussing, yelled so I'd hear them. Yeah, they've got 'team' building, but not me.
I know I personally don’t like my tires leaving the ground, at least not yet but I still wanna build features for everyone including myself as I progress. What I would personally recommend do for jumps is to have the straightaway for people who do not want to have their tires leave the ground, then have a roller which doubles as a berm into either a hip jump or another berm that then goes into the jump which goes into another berm berm roller back onto the trail and other words alternate line choices build features for everyone. They’re awesome. I don’t mean to be harsh it’s just a recommendation to enhance your awesome trails going forward. One thing that I’d recommend and I know I’m personally going to do this eventually is to build K through 12 skills areas at public schools which allow for massive skills progression. My thinking with the former is that with trails like we did as awesome as they are and I’m not trying to be discouraging quite the opposite especially in the long run but what my thinking is is if people go out they could build the best trail but if its way out there in the Middle of the sticks all it takes is someone getting hurt and the landowner getting sued a change in land ownership or people growing going to college moving away or whatever for the trails to become forgotten abandoned and overgrown. Where is if someone over to take the other approach still in the long run want to build that super cool trail but instead build a skills area at a local school/Local public park wait 5 to 10 years for a trails club to emerge naturally or to be planted there but grow naturally both allows time for people to focus on other things as well as time for an organic writer base to emerge were then instead of maybe having a core group of 10 people building that awesome trail you might have 100 people and then it’ll become a local cultural institution rather than something that has forgotten about within a decade.Think long term man and it will repay you in triplicate and dividends
That intro alone was enough to make me subscribe. Top job chaps!
