    I have this model. I'm not prepared to wash my dishes before putting them in the DISHWASHER because of a poorly designed filter! We constantly get the E1 error. You can see that the supposed "filter" doesn't stop anything. Food gets through to the pump, which clogs, or allows food through to the drain hose, and clogs that. Then the dishwasher beeps and gives the error code, and stops. You then have to press cancel drain (sometimes twice). We then run the rinse cycle. Maytag replaced the pump, the drain hose (twice), in the first 3 months. That worked only for 3 months. I've just scheduled the 4th callout in 15 months.

      who tf doesn't rinse their dishes before putting them in the dishwasher?

    • @MyFocusVaries
      @MyFocusVaries 2 дня назад +1

      @@johnernest5505 to quote many articles, Experts uniformly agree that rinsing dishes is a waste of water and makes the dishwasher less efficient. (Feel free to Google "should I rinse dishes before I put them in the dishwasher." Scraping food off is all that should be required. I've been using dishwashers since I was a kid, so for nearly 50 years, and this is the first dishwasher we've had this problem with. PS no need to swear.

      I'm sorry to hear you had all those problems.My dishwasher is good so far. I think at least rinsing a big chunk of food should help to avoid cloging.

      @@averagemaintenance3875 from lots of Google searches, this model has lots of problems with the pump clogging. I'm not new to dishwasher use. This is the first dishwasher that we've had this problem, with constant draining problems.

    Bought it beginning of the year and i dont use it very often. I try to use it today and the time always shows 0.02 (2 minutes), and when i try to select the wash cycle the buttons don't work, it gets stuck on 0.02...tried all the buttons and also switch the device on/off many times, something seems to be stuck😢

    • @averagemaintenance3875
      @averagemaintenance3875  Месяц назад

      @ritaritata3457 Try to turn it off for longer than one minute and then turn it back agai. Switch braker if hardwired. One more thing that comes to my mind is press the Cancel button and hold it for longer than 3 seconds. Try it even when other buttons if Cancel does not work.

    Thanks for the video. Very helpful. We have the same dishwasher installed about a month ago. It cleans the dishes very well, however, there is water left in the spray arms after each wash so when I pull the racks out the water drips down and wet the dishes below. Do you think if it's an installation issue or the machine has defects? Thanks!

    • @averagemaintenance3875
      @averagemaintenance3875  Месяц назад

      Some water will always be there, but I believe that heated drying should get rid of it. Also, try to empty the bottom rack first to avoid water dripping on dishes.

      @@averagemaintenance3875Thank you so much for your response! The top one holds quite a bit of water (almost like a running faucet) so I was not sure if it was because there is a leveling issue or the arm has some problems. It’s good to know it’s normal to have some water there. Thanks again!

    • @averagemaintenance3875

      @hannah67368 That seems like a lot of water and it makes sense to check the level of dishwasher, If you did not already. An additional question I have is, does that happen with all the cycles?

    • @hannah67368
      @hannah67368 Месяц назад +1

      @@averagemaintenance3875we didn’t check the level when it was installed. Yes it happens with all the cycles. Some of the times there seem to be more than the others. Thanks!

    • @averagemaintenance3875
      @averagemaintenance3875  Месяц назад

      @hannah67368 it is easy to check the level with adjusting two front legs, after you take bottomfront cover off, I think you can do it yourself. Good luck.

    Thanks for video of it actually running! Just installed mine and pleased so far, but didn't realize it made that swishing noise. My 2005 Maytag was a superb machine but was having computer issues so decided to replace it with this model. The water swishing sound had me a little concerned since my last Maytag (all Whirlpool now) could barely hear any water moving or swishing. However mechanically this is much quieter, so far so good. Rumer has it the drain has issues after about a year, so getting ready for that.

      I did not have any problems yet, thankfully, and I am using it about five times a week. It is good dishwasher overall. It cleanes very well. I like stainless still inside versus plastic. Third rack is very helpfull.

      @@averagemaintenance3875I notice you say that you wash your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher. For people who only scrape dishes, the pump will be a constant problem, causing drain problems

      @@averagemaintenance3875 I love the 3rd shelf I just can’t justify getting rid of a perfectly fine whirlpool just for that feature. I’ll dump the whirlpool if it ever becomes prohibitively expensive to maintain. I had the pump and circuit board replaced on mine under warranty around a year ago. No longer under warranty tho so next repair would hurt.
