I really like your content and I plan too join the Royal Marines Commandos next year at the age of 16 and your videos give me an idea on what to expect which is really helpful and also thank you for your service
The application process has changed a lot since then, i signed up in December 2017, took 3-4 weeks to hear back cause their systems were down. When i heard back i was given a date to go do my recruit test which is just a written multiple choice test. 18 people sat that test with me and only 3 of us passed. After i passed i was given an interview date and i smashed that. I then had to fill in a medical form, they ask you about everything in that. Now i am waiting to get my face to face medical then i will be doing my PJFT (Pre Joining Fitness Test) that is different from your one too, i have to run 1.5 miles in 12:30, rest for 60 seconds then 1.5 miles in 10 minutes or less. After the PJFT i will be going down to Lympstone for my PRMC and then training after i pass. Few differences since you signed up, might be because you were the youngest age you had to be, im 20 years old so that might be it
Prmc video please also did you ever get an injury? I’ve passed my recruitment test and interview, I’m TMU on my medical but I have shin splints. I’ve been told to completely rest for three months before I can even begin to train again. Any tips on beginning to train for PJFT and PRMC with out my injury reoccurring when it eventually heals?
Ik it's not about money but how was it did you struggle with finance after leaving (I want to join but my close family advised me it would affect me later in life you know with money and stuff)
You said you'd become a marine in 2008.. Did you ever do a tour? Or perhaps you weren't in a warzone and conducted operations in different parts of the world. What was your experience like?
Roget Allain I finished the recording last night for the Q&A and even though I didn’t answer your question specifically I definitely spoke about my experience during my career. It should be uploaded at some point today :)
OriginalHuman appreciated. Thank you for your service. I wish the marines were taking in Commonwealth overseas. I want to smash the Commando and earn my green beret.
Connor Duggan yes! It was easy. I did it just before I went to my PRMC. I think that I was good at it because I just got out of school, I still had it fresh in my mind.
I recently joined a Royal Marines cadet group and it’s amazing. I want to go into the Royal Marines and this will help a lot
