Help! Anytime I use my homemade products on my face, I end up with large bumps under the skin. Not pimples. Nothing pops. After a day or so it goes away. This problem happens when I use Shea or coconut oil. I can use the products anywhere else except the face and neck. Do you have any advice for this situation? Is it an allergy? What should I use instead of those oils? Love your channel. Thank you for any advice you have.💕
This may be an allergy but you are likely having a reaction because heavy products like coconut and shea are comedogenic (ie acne causing), especially coconut oil. Do not use these products in your skincare because there may be longer term issues you will cause you skin. Try small drops of jojoba oil in your existing skincare (maybe your skin tolerates less oil and potentially more linoleic rich oils like jojoba). Also avoid all essential oils for now, or learn online how to dilute each essential oil to the right level (don't do what Oily House is doing) and spot test on your arm before you add to your face products! Stay safe! And watch channels like Dr Dray - she is great at telling us what to avoid putting on our faces. I'm not sponsored or linked to her - most of the time I like what she has to say.
@@megroux I would suggest seeing a dermatologist. You most likely are having a contact allergy of some kind. Performing an allergy test will help you determine the allergen causing ingredient/s Do Cetaphil or Avene products cause you problems? They are the most gentle/skin friendly solutions (one is drugstore and the other is slightly higher end). If they do then please see a dermatologist
that could be milia. you really shouldn't be seeking advice for treatments on skin condition from youtubers without any medical background or someone who has no liability if the advise they give ends up harming you.
Coconut oil is severely comedogenic and can cause milia in the eye area and potentially cause acne as well. I would recommend swapping coconut oil for a much less skin problem causing oil (jojoba or avocado). Also avoid any citrus or flower essential oils because of the propensity to irritate the skin and longer term cause breakouts/severe sensitivity. For more information on what is safe for skin and what isn't, please refer to Dr Dray's channel - she is a board certified dermatologist whose videos will attest to everything I've mentioned above.
@@savvyk3713 Hi, sorry to belabor this conversation but the comedogenic properties of coconut oil are skin agnostic and very real. The irritant properties of some essential oils does vary across skin types but over time the usage of essential oils will cause greater sensitivity as one ages. And I say this as one who believes in holistic/natural ingredients. But just because something is natural does not mean it is good for you and does not cause adverse reactions. I've studied skincare, cosmetic chemistry and naturopathy for much of my life so I am not sitting here being an armchair critic without reason. I've seen many people touting the benefits of coconut oil for skin/face without realizing the real problems this ingredient causes people, especially Caucasian/white skin, over time. You are welcome to disbelieve me - but please speak with any dermatologist before you start a coconut oil skincare regimen just to be safe.
@@savvyk3713 We are the same ethnicity 😊 and I can't use coconut oil AT ALL so I guess it depends on the person, but it's better for someone to not take the risk if they have never used it before and the side effects are unknown to them. Actually alot of brown/South Asian dermatologists in the US/India will tell you to avoid using coconut oil on the face/body. Hair & scalp is ok if you wash it off within an hour.
You're right... She literally has no idea what she's talking about. She's so uneducated and never uses the proper disclaimers. Some people can use coconut oil and some can't and she doesn't even mention that. SO irresponsible I'm getting insanely frustrated with this channel!
Can i use Virgin Coconut Oil which i have, and how will i buy other Essentials oil is it best if Raw or Pure? Does this have a difference..And lastly what brand are you using for your Oils, i know this will help in buying products on the Internet. Many many thanks in advance..Best regards and more power to your channel❤🙏
Great recipe. Can I substitute vit E oil for vit E capsules and use the oil within? If so, how many capsules for this particular recipe please? Thank you xx
Can’t wait to try this! I don’t have a vitamin E oil though, we have vitamin E capsules do you think that would work if I poke a hole in them? Or could the measurements be off too much?
derma lmd eye serum is amazing. The under-eye recovery gel is very soothing to the eyes. Dark circles start fading away after 4 uses. Pump a few drops on your fingers and massage it under your eyes at the night. It reduces eye dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles.
Great recipe ! Thank you ! have been looking for a easy recipe from sometime. Question though Could I use Mango butter instead for its added vitamin c properties to help lighten the skin as I am not a big fan of Coconut oil and also the fact that it liquifies in warm weather. I could melt the MB and add all the ingredients pour it in the container and it will solidify so it stays in that state even in warmer weather I mean that's the idea but need your thoughts on that Please... Just a thought I could make a roller bottle blend using these EO's with sweet almond oil right? yay way less fiddly & easy to apply Thanks
I have been debating on getting rose oil. I have enough points to get it absolutely free but still on the fence. I like to get as much as possible with my points so using them all on one 5ml bottle is a difficult decision for me (sill I know). I have the rose roller bottle but would love to have the pure oil for things like this......ugh
Hi, I LOVE your videos and recipes, I wanted to make this for my mom and myself, went to the pharmacy to pick up some of the essential oils I don’t have, unfortunately , one tincture of the chamomile oil (it was Roman chamomile ?) was OVER $50 ... I was so embarrassed cause I had to ask her to put that one back...lol is it normal for chamomile EO to be so expensive?? Wow. Guess I will substitute the other oils..lol bummer tho.on the upside I found avocado oil for face serum, so thanks for the tips 😃 oh, I just found some on Amazon for ALOT less . Yay! For anyone wanting to source theirs for less than the local retail cost. Thank goodness!
Make sure you are getting you EO from a reputable supplier. I personally would not trust the oil off Amazon as Roman chamomile is an expensive Oil. Research the process to create it and research the distributor you found on Amazon. If you are getting it for less than 50 you may not be getting anything other than a fragrance oil.
Thanks Dear for this wonderful recipe but I have 2 questions. 1can we also apply above eye lids too?means where we apply eye makeup. 2, Does this cause milias on skin?cz I have milias prone skin,so here in this recipe your are using coconut oil which is comedogenic.so can we replace this oil?

Coconut oil and the essential oils are anti-aging. Essential oils are safe for topically use on the face as long as they are diluted first. Several skincare products, especially for the face, contain essential oils.

Yes you can! Replace equal parts with the carrier oil.
I have only rose essential oil..can i mix it with coconut oil and vitamin E without adding other essential oils??will this whiten my dark circles?
Rose is a great one for that.
could you also add castor oil? (sorry if this has been asked?)
