I’m new to the SDA church and absolutely believe that what is preached is truth! I initially struggled with Ellen White as being a prophet,and worried that I might be deceived,however the more I read and listen,the more it makes sense!

Ellen G White is a true prophet of God. Her amazing output of writing and the quality of it had no rival in the 19th century. It lives on today and is of immense value in the Last Days of earth’s history before our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, comes as King of kings and Lord of lords🙏🏼

Before Ellen White, God spoke to men, but they refused His gift.
When I talk to Jesus, I ask Him what to say to someone. When He guides me, I need to accept the mission. As all followers need to do.
What i love about her teaching are that all of them was through christ Jesus. When you think of the people christ will use to deliver his true message is all the more inspiring Ellen white was a small frail woman not highly educated at first grew up in other denominations loved ham loved her sweets was methodist for a good amount of time she had many questions herself about all aspects of religion and guess what God inspired her with the pen to write down everything she learned for all of us awesome

The Seventh-day Adventist understanding of Biblical truth is astounding and life-changing. I am so grateful my husband influenced me to study with Adventists, and the Holy Spirit took it from there! Please be not deceived, EGW has many failed prophecies. A true prophet does not plagiarized other inspired writings and claim that she received them from God. This is blasphemy. Please read the Psycho biography of EGW by Steve Daly. Your eyes will be opened. Study the history behind who she really was.

I was reading the wrong Scripture for Jeremiah 28:9. This Scripture is most definitely a qualification of a true prophet, which states: “The prophet which prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent.”

No. Ellen G White was a plagiarist. She did not fulfil the requirements. Do some research instead of just listening to people that don’t really know.
Ellen White often made use of literary sources in communicating her messages. In the Introduction to one of her most popular books she wrote:
"In some cases where a historian has so grouped together events as to afford, in brief, a comprehensive view of the subject, or has summarized details in a convenient manner, his words have been quoted; but in some instances no specific credit has been given, since the quotations are not given for the purpose of citing that writer as authority, but because his statement affords a ready and forcible presentation of the subject. In narrating the experience and views of those carrying forward the work of reform in our own time, similar use has been made of their published works" (The Great Controversy, p. xii).
Ellen White's use of other authors was not limited to historical or geographical material, but included other subject areas as well. Research has found that she enriched her writings with choice expressions from her reading more extensively than had been known, although the amount that has been documented thus far is a small percentage (less than 2 percent) when measured against her total literary output.
In 1980 Dr. Fred Veltman, at that time the chairman of the Religion Department of Pacific Union College, undertook a detailed analysis of Ellen White's use of literary sources in her book The Desire of Ages, a study which took eight years to complete. Copies of the full 2,561-page report were distributed to Seventh-day Adventist college and university libraries throughout the world. The complete report, including its 100-page summary, is also available online at the General Conference Archives web site: docs.adventistarchives.org//doc_info.asp?DocID=1158.
Because she included such selections from other authors in her writings, critics have charged Ellen White with plagiarism. But the mere use of another's language does not constitute literary theft, as noted by Attorney Vincent L. Ramik, a specialist in patent, trademark, and copyright cases. After researching about 1,000 copyright cases in American legal history, Ramik issued a 27-page legal opinion in which he concluded "Ellen White was not a plagiarist, and her works did not constitute copyright infringement/piracy." Ramik points out several factors that critics of Ellen White's writings have failed to take into account when accusing her of literary theft or deceit. 1) Her selections "stayed well within the legal boundaries of 'fair use.'" 2) "Ellen White used the writings of others; but in the way she used them, she made them uniquely her own"--adapting the selections into her own literary framework. 3) Ellen White urged her readers to get copies of some of the very books she made use of--demonstrating that she did not attempt to conceal the fact of her use of literary sources, and that she had no intention to defraud or supersede the works of any other author.
Ellen White "did not copy wholesale or without discrimination. What she selected or did not select, and how she altered what she selected" reveals that she used literary sources "to amplify or to state more forcefully her own transcending themes; she was the master, not the slave, of her sources" (Herbert E. Douglass, Messenger of the Lord, p. 461).

You are so correct. SDA leaders have put blinkers on their members. EGW has always "changed" her mind to justify her failed prophecies.
It seems that SDAs don't have discernment. They are lead like lambs to the slaughter, believing everything that they indoctrinated by their leaders. They should study the Scriptures objectively. Jeremiah says that if a prophet fails in one, they must not be listened to.

I'm SDA and still believe the true church is not a denomination but people world wide that follow the Lord as the true people can be in Any church or no church for some. The beliefs of the SDA church are spot on and have proven to be in over 150 years closest to the interpretation of the word of God, the church was put together by people of many denominations all with the same belief that we follow God and not man.

Thanks for your comment. God does have a true church. After Peter preached on the day of Pentecost, those who accepted his message were added to the church. Jesus says in John 10:16 that his true sheep will join the one-fold. So, God will guide his people into the one true church at the end. The Seventh-day Adventist church is not just one of the many denominations. It is the only church whose rise has been prophetically mentioned in the Bible. @@HL365 blessings. It takes a good lesson to learn and I feel hungry to learn more. I watched to video and I am still not yet convinced but I have the hunger to know. The Advent movement was many denominations brought together with one commonality and that was to follow God and not man, they (back in 1844) followed all 10 commandments and did not let man deceive them away from the word of God. The second angels message who had the everlasting gospel to preach unto every one who dwell on the earth and to every nation and kindred and tongue is meaning the bible is the church and those who follow the word of God. The people in SDA church are definitely part of that church of the Lord that began after his baptism, all those people who followed the til 1844 are the church as well as those who continue generations after who follow the Lord and the word and keep God's commandments so that means it's not an actual denomination but a nation and kindred and many tongues (actual languages that can be interpreted).
The church is everyone because God will lead us to his kingdom and that can be done in any building any denomination and where the word has not even reached. The prodigal sons are those who have yet to be part of the family of God. The SDA church is the best way to understand the word of God and keep the commandments especially those perverted by man. I still don't see proof that the bible is talking about the SDA church, I only see how God can Remind us of God's commandments and how to understand his word. One reason is because it's the people in the church who can be like warm ( like any church) I don't believe the Lord will come get the SDA church in the end. I do believe the Lord will come for HIS church, the word the bible the people who were true believers who followed God's commandments as best they could no matter what denomination.

Do all the explaining you want but the bible dictates that the Holy Spirit gives the gift of prophecy to whoever He pleases. Revelation 19:10 says "And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." Notice how it didn't says the Seventh Day Adventist church is the spirit of Prophecy?

I am a believer but my question is did E G White say in her own words that she was a prophet because if she didn't it's a misconception that the evil one is using to discourage believers pointing to things that some so called prophecy didn't fulfill so she gets disqualified as a prophet of God. My understanding she said she was a messenger

I say no man can say who is God's prophet except the One who appointed him as His prophet. By this I mean one cannot say, "You are non-denomination, therefore you are not the Lord's prophet." Nor can they say, "Only 7th Day Adventists can be appointed as prophets." Prophecy is not relegated to a single denomination, for anyone who is appointed by the Lord will speak what is spoken to him by the Lord. Nothing has changed. People are still persecuting God's prophets to this very day. Calling the truth false, false the truth. Let false be false, and truth be truth. And more than this show love and mercy with godly compassion to one another, gently correcting anyone who is in need thereof. Blessed is anyone who hears this word and put's it into action.
And this is the truth: Love overcomes hate; mercy triumphs over judgement; and compassion dismantles heartlessness, taking the heart of stone and transforming it to a heart of flesh. And these three come in great abundance from our Father in heaven through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Indeed, SDAs are deceived. Cognitive dissonance does not allow them to to believe otherwise. They are guilty of idolatry, uplifting EGW more than Jesus and the true Gospel preached by Paul.
Test things for yourself. Read the bible for yourself and read Ellen White's writings for yourself. The only thing is that you must seek the Holy Spirit's presence and guidance as you read.

It doesn’t answer the question: Why would a so called prophet need to copy others literary work and then claim that God spoke directly to her? Did God tell her to copy? I asked the Lord what was the true church and if he wanted me to keep the sabbath to lead me to a sabbath keeping church by a sign. He sent a bus driver to invite me to his church which happened to be a sda church. That was 35 years ago...I still believe.

I testify that President Nelson and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have done all four things. Alot of things in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do come to pass as prophesied such as Temples being rebuilt, the truth being restored etc etc etc. President Nelson is today's true Prophet of God because he does follow God, he believes in God's Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, he harmonizes with scriptures and he has Christ like qualities in his character.

Every writing I have read of Ellen G White only makes me love God and Jesus Christ more. And I have understood even better the power of the Holy Spirit in my life and the lives of others. And I can see where the Holy Spirit is sadly lacking in the lives of too many so-called

Nah, what I see is people doing as they do for their own religions such as Roman Catholicism, Islam, Mormonism etc. They are uplifting their Church Establishment and comgregation only. They are uplifting a prophet, not Christ. This is so wrong!

What do yall experience by keeping Sabbaths?
Sabbath is a day where we set aside to spend exclusive time with God, His word and His people. Putting aside all distractions and mundane tasks, we delight in God as the Bible says (Isaiah 58:13,14).

@HL365 The Whirlwind of Fire appears by keeping Sabbaths in Righteousness by the Spirit of YaH. The glory appears in other words. 24 hour holy gatherings to cease from all worldly distractions to pray, praise, magnify, and celebrate unto YaHUaH, the only Almighty, who never slept. 2 to 3 hours praise sessions 45 minute dinner break, sleep on mats. Etc. at gathering locations. Everyone wakes up 6:00am and praises and magnifies YaH until the Whirlwind of Fire appears and do havdalah until 10:00pm or so. 45 min breaks are needed between each 2 to 3 hour praise sessions. No traveling allowed on Sabbaths. So need mats. Etc for everyone to sleep on.
That is false.....there are many prophets not from a denomination.....and their prophecy have come to pass...what's with the glasses . And not all prophecy come to pass in this day ... remember there are some prophecy from the Bible yet fulfilled

Christ, in the wilderness of temptation, stood in Adam's place to bear the test he failed to endure. Here Christ overcame in the sinner's behalf, four thousand years after Adam turned his back upon the light of his home. Con 32.1
The point I would like for you to see is from the time Adam fails the test till Jesus in the wilderness in 27 AD. is exactly 4000 years meaning from 27AD to 2027 is 2000 years. If a day is to a thousand year, the one thousand year millennium is next. But the Bible also speaks of a delay but the 6 thousand years is on 2027.
Bible never says that the world will end after 6,000 years.

I completely agree. I became a Seventh -day Adventist because they were 100% bible based. I purposely chose not to read Ellen White's writings for a few years after joining, as I wanted to read the Bible through first and get a good biblical grounding. When I eventually did read her books I was very pleased to find that they were in complete harmony with scripture. I have found them to be very helpful and valuable.
