      Game 2 of the 91 Finals vs Magic and the Lakers. Bulls came out flat in Game 1 and lost on a last minute three by Sam Perkins (a stretch 4 by 90’s standards. People were wondering if MJ wasn’t ready to take the mantle from Magic just quite yet. Game 2 is the response.

    The 1980s version of Jordan was very good at drawing fouls. That would be increased significantly today. Though, 1990s MJ could probably do that to a degree.
    However, simply scaling 2023 Lebron and how he drives to the hoop, Bulls MJ can do that today at a greater degree. And his efficiency would be absurdly high. Either way, MJ should draw plenty of fouls since he practically jumps into people challenging them directly to block

    Prime MJ had a first step faster than Ja. Bounce off one or both legs equal to Zach Levine. Finish through contact a smidge below prime Bron. Mid range at least at Derozan's level. Footwork and body control a lil better than Kyrie. Post game from perimeter position better than Luka. Was dunking more bodies, by far, than any player today. Free throw shooting thismuch below Klay. Off ball game below Steph & Klay, but I'm not sure who else is even in the convo today for off ball game. Hands like Kawhi. Playoff Jimmy level seek and destroy opponents at all times. Running endurance of Steph.
    Don't even give him an improved 3pt, at his peak, he shot 37% from the current 3pt line. One of 2 things is happening if you took '88-'92 MJ and dropped him in today's game: He's averaging 35-37 on 60% shooting, or he's averaging 40-45 on 50% with high volume. The rules took away the only thing even remotely effective at slowing MJ down.

      The only factor I feel that would require is that Jordan could play in today’s league with his era’s knowledge and experience. Jordan played the way his era’s league played, now if he didn’t have that knowledge or experience and began in today’s league, it would have a different outcome based upon the fact he wouldn’t have that previous era to draw upon. So I wonder how much that would factor in and what impact that would have on Jordan’s game overall. Competition breed’s greatness, Jordan played in a lot more physically dominating league, that played a factor in his competitiveness and overall performance, take that away and I would think it would also have an impact on his competitiveness as an individual, to what degree or level that impact would be is completely speculative however I feel it would factor in regardless.

    the fact that MJ averaged 37 pts in 82 games, without using the 3 pt shot to pad his stats (I think he averaged 2.2 3-pt shots for the season) is why I consider him the greatest to ever do it because while he was torching the toughest era in the NBA, he was busy on defense racking up over 200 steals and over 100 blocks for the season...no one in today's NBA is performing like that and the defensive rules are much softer than they were when MJ played...great reaction video, keep'em rolling!

    It wouldn't be fair if MJ played in this Massengill ointment soft NBA where cats' psyches are Cardi B WAP. Metta wanted world peace soon as he faced AARP member (Wizards) MJ. I agree 100% with him - MJ would average 50 ppg if he really wanted. That Black Cat averaged 37 ppg when the league still had perimeter pitbulls (Moncrief, Alvin Robertson, Rodman, Michael Cooper, Dennis Johnson, Gary Payton, Joe Dumars, Pippen-in practice) on guard. Once he was able to get past them beasts in the paint he was faced with bloodthirsty goons in hockey masks (Laimbeer, Mahorn, Oakley, Mason, Barkley, X McDaniel, Larry Johnson, Thorpe) ala Jason Voorhees. When he was able to finally get to the rim he had to contend with some of the greatest defensive bigs all-time (Hakeem, David Robinson, Mourning, Mutombo, Ewing, Eaton, Rollins, Parish). And in a much physical era where today's flagrant twos were just common fouls. Jordan had the maniacal mental of killers in serial. In Windy City MJ made John Wayne Gacy rock envy. Back then MJ was Chicago's most prolific coroner but today he'd be a Dahmer cadaver hoarder. First he'd instill fear. Then he'd get in these pussies like the anatomy of a pap smear.

    I don't think of 50 a game, but 45 to 47, for sure. I saw him play and he would adaped to the rules, shooting 3 pointers. If he really wants to, maybe 50 would be possible, but only if he really wanted to push for that. The one thing that sometimes worked for defenders was to try to bring him out of balance while shooting. You can't do that today. Reggie is right, it would probaply be lights out. He would be shooting so many pull ups in peoples faces...

  • @BrettShadow
    @BrettShadow 5 месяцев назад

    He would average 52-ish shooting about 51-52% and 38%-40% from 3 with around 14-18 trips to the line. He would drop 80 multiple times per 82 and hit 100 once every 164g.
    You gotta remember too that the game isnt just less physical now... its slow as hell. Tv timeouts, replays, nobody press anymore nobody breaks, nobody hustles. So Jordan would be so well rested he would play every minute of 82. He would run circles atound entire teams and when they forced to try to run with him he would gas em by halftime. He would have nothing but open looks from anywhere he wants. They would start hackin him just because his 85% from the line is better than his 100% breaking the rim all night. He would have the same effect today as he did then... the entire league would have to adapt and try to play his game to even be a little competition. So they would have to start playing basketball again instead of glorified team HORSE like they doin now

Usually you're drafted to terrible teams if you're a high pick, which MJ undoubtedly would be, but that just means that his scoring average in his early years with a terrible team, would be ridiculous. Honestly draft him to the 2023 Pistons, he's averaging 50 and I wouldn't be passing anyone else the ball on that team. Think about the rim defenders Jordan had to worry about. Hakeem, the most blocks ever. Mutombo, 2nd in blocks. David Robinson, Ewing, Shaq, Eaton wbo was averaging 4-5 blocks for multiple seasons. These guys playing are more athletic bigger and faster than the 90's. Why didn't Kobe avg 40...because of defense. He avg 31 shots a game. Use your brain. Why was the game more physical in the 80's and 90's. Because the players were not that agile. Scottie a 3 that could guard a 1. How many of those were back then? Jordan was guarded 1on 1. Today the ball would be gotten out of his hands. He would be double teamed and forced to give it up. Someone else would have to beat you. Look what just happened to Tyrese Haliburton. Stop the foolishness. Another thing...today's players are not putting up with what Kerr and Scottie and that team put up with Jordan. Just because you say a thing doesn't make it so.
