Please know that all of you are not just making a difference for those who are part of the LBGTQ+ community. I’m a 75 year old straight woman and you all have touched my very soul. I’m so beyond grateful for your authenticity, wisdom and heart! You’ve allowed me a beautiful glimpse into your “world”, your life experience. You shine a light on the darkness of all of the barriers to the freedom to just be exactly, unapologetically who you were put on this earth to be. Keep on keeping on...for the sake of all of us. First of all, what an informative roundtable, I am not in your community I am a 74 year old white straight female who has been guilty of a lot of unjustified criticism of your community in the past, ( I said in the past not any longer) I think it is really important that you have these roundtables available for all of us to listen to , to be able to understand and accept your feelings. For us all to be able to live in the same world we need to understand what we are about. The only way that can happen is for everyone to be honest and realistic and know that we are all human beings , that we all have feelings and emotions and personalities but we are actually all the same. we are all equal and really should never have to explain our idiosyncrasies and individualisms to any one . God gave us that right when He created us. God Bless you all and I pray that someday you won't have to feel any kind of inadequacies of any kind. Take care . Jessie Cole, I went on Netflix and searched for that and I watched it and yes it was very very good, I liked it a lot!
I watched it on RUclips because Netflix doesn’t have it “in my country” lol (that’s Romania, but it may be European Netflix that doesn’t have it because I’ve heard others couldn’t find it - it was originally shown on ABC if I’m correct.)
This was long overdue! As a straight women, I learned alot. Thank you for sharing your stories.
Watched this last night and found it very interesting. Enjoyed listening to all of the different experiences of the struggle that such wonderful creative people have had to navigate to promote their work. Great props to Adam and the Feel Something Foundation for arranging this panel. Hopefully a lot of people who may see this will gain a different perspective of the particular difficutlies faced by LGBTQ+ artists.

Great meeting.. I hope in the future ,you will all find ways to make the LGBTQ Community support their artists to a much greater extend.. They are a big force and if they can change the destinies of so many girl singers with their support,from Garland to Gaga,etc. they sure could help their own folks.Campaign to buy LGBTQ music ,to go to concerts ,after pandemic.. well you know what I mean.. Look what Motown did....It's posssible. In the meantime your progress in music has been fantastic.. Adam to you I owe a very happy 10 years of bliss for your voice,for your passion for your advocacy .. For being YOU.

This was very very interesting! Thank you all for joining this event and sharing with us what you had to tell. I learned a lot but I have a lot of questions running through my head right now, and I need to process this whole conversation. In fact, I have to listen to it more carefully again just because my English sucks and I don't understand everything. But one thing I'm very sure of, we, the world, need a lot more round tables like this. And I'm so happy that finally some amazing women were introduced to me. I failed a little by getting to know them by myself. I will go and learn more about them, for sure. I wish you all the best. You have people around you who just care about who you are, not what.

It’s so frustrating and I’m coming into myself a bit late, but struggling with people I know and who care about me telling me to tone it down.

It’s so endearing to see Adam is still that super-involved school kid, listening with interest and participating - in childhood it can mask one’s loneliness rather, but with a nice round table like this one it’s a great talent to have, puts everyone at ease.

I found this highly interesting. I think I'm starting to realize more as I get older that the complete burnout point of going from hopeful and creative to entering society/the workforce has a lot to do with gayness. I didn't realize I was bi until I was 26, and when I looked back it was incredibly obvious. I almost wonder if there was no gay things to have as examples when I was growing up, or if I just didn't recognize flamboyance because I thought it was normal. I watched a lot of MTV when I was little from circa 1985-1993, but I don't remember knowing what gay was at all as a concept until maybe middle school. I was accused of being gay by some kid (who by chance was a Jehovah's Witness), and I don't remember honestly seeing anyone who was gay until Ellen came out on tv (1997?). I find it miraculous that small children have a concept of gayness or trans-ness, and how beginning with the globalization of the internet, the world has changed entirely in the last 27 years. I'm 37 now and I'm still essentially learning how entirely gay I am. And I facetiously wonder why I wasn't able to do the marriage and the kids and the desk job thing. >.
I guess it's hiding it/repressing it because of fear of accusations and having no examples, yet having the feelings. I think being bi is very common, but maybe I just have more friends who are... you wouldn't know that they are on the outside though because often having hetero relationships. Also, it isn't as friendly online as you may think...
