Everyone is a clone of someone. Eminem probably a clone of someone too but we dont know we he probably copied aside from people he mentioned he grew up listening to.
Its better to have multiple influences of sound because it will get harder to figure out who you're influenced by. You might say ok so and so sounds like this person. But they also sound like someone else.
For example look at lil b.
Many people especially gen z rap listeners dont know who the hell he is. some 15 year old debated me around two months ago saying lil b is irrelevant.

Sure these rappers would still exist but the sound would probably be completely different if it wasn't for lil b bringing this weird cool and different aesthetic to the music during his prime time.
Point of all this someones music is going to bring out the next big thing that can probably leave a long lasting influential impact whether someone thinks its good or bad up for debate and very subjective of what someone considers good music. Theres no objective opinion on what is good music.
You have people like john cage who claimed no sound is music because he considered 433 whatever is around you that micmics a sound wave like coughing and etc is music. This is someone who is highly controversial and discussed in college classrooms.
