In the future I think it would be great to film in the view we see out clients in. Maybe behind Suzanne, above or over the shoulder from the Esthetician perspective. Great video, thanks!

Is the lymph fluid not supposed to be directed towards the heart? Down the neck to the décolleté and the then the heart? Also I’ve also heard that for moving lymph fluid you’re to use very light movements ?

Susanne: Where did you get your jade tools? I have the rollers but I'm now in love with the skin scrapers!

Good question! You can get a roller like the one in the video at www.noreenyoung.com, and the scrapers can be purchased on Amazon. Just search for "gua sha", and make sure the ones you order are made from real jade!

Hi Susanne, How would you include the scrapers in a treatment? Someone mentioned first doing an enzyme peel, then doing the scraper and then doing the rollers. Would this not over stimulate the skin doing an enzyme peel and then scraping the face. I have never done this before, however I would love to incorporate with my enzyme peel. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks. By the way your videos are amazing. Isabel

Thanks for the kudos, Isabel! I would not do an enzyme peel first before using the scraper. If you have a heavily keratinized skin (dead skin cell build up) then a gentle enzyme peel after the scraper would be fine. It really depends on the client and your product strength. I like a gentle enzyme peel after a mechanical exfoliation to enhance my results-just remember to use products that help repair your client’s skin barrier. -Susanne

Hi Susanne, Thanks for professional opinion. What I wanted to do was as you mentioned do the scraper first and then incorporate the cocoa enzyme from circadia (By Dr. Pugliese) and then using the cold jade rollers to calm the skin. This is a very gentle peel, and I wanted to make it a treatment. Any suggestions you may have to make it a better treatment let me know. Thanks so so much.

what is it about jade in particular that makes this treatment beneficial? I can see why pressure is good, but wonder what's special about jade...

Great question! Here's what Susanne had to say:
"In traditional eastern medicine, jade is thought to keep Yin and Yang in balance. From a western standpoint, however, it holds a cold temperature exceptionally well, and has the right weight to help move lymph fluid when used correctly."

Can you clarify a point? Would you use the scraper, then apply an enzyme mask, then use the rollers after removing the mask?

New to the channel, this is so informative. Before the coconut oil, do you cleanse the face? I guess because you will be scraping, there would be no need to use an abrasive exfoliant, for example cleansers with morcobeads or say an apricot scrub, correct?
