I manage to use duck bill (embroidery/applique) scissors for cutting and trimming the mark stitches. Reza is correct - Ironing them is definitely mandatory to set the stitches and mark stitching takes time.

When trimming the threads, would be fast and accurate using Wahl clippers with a 3mm guard. Alcohol cleaned.

I am struggling to find mark stitching thread. Basting thread easy Gutermann have one called that exactly.
Mark stitching is non-existent. Any recommendations on weight and material or brand and make etc.? Cotton I see on the label in the video, but how many strands and construction and weight etc. I am so confused with this!

I may have heard somewhere that cotton embroidery thread could be used for mark stitching (or possibly basting) when tailoring. Reza - what are your thoughts on this?

Cotton embroidery thread can be used for this purpose as it's thicker. But it's also a lot more expensive. The skeins are too short to be cost effective.
