(PLEASE READ!!!: This topper can also be made using edible gumpaste/fondant. Anything you can make with gumpaste can be made with polymer clay, and vice versa. IF you are making this out of gumpaste/fondant you will need edible glue. You will NOT need to bake this (only polymer clay needs to be baked in order to harden). Please also be sure to use EDIBLE paint and NOT the acrylic paints shown in the tutorial.)

How cute is that?! I've never worked with polymer clay, but after seeing this, I might sometimes make the toppers for cakes with it to make something the recipient can keep. ❤❤❤

Amazing! Do you have to put a barrier between the cake and this topper?
Thank you so much! Polymer clay is non-toxic so perfectly safe to touch anything that will be eaten. However, in order to make it "stick" to your cake, you can add a layer of buttercream or royal icing underneath it. When finished using it, polymer clay can be wiped clean with a damp cloth/paper towel. Hope that helps and thank you for watching! :)

Thank you Yolanda! There are some tools I only use for clay and some only for fondant, but that's not to say that if there's a fondant tool I need to use I don't use it. Polymer clay is non-toxic and very easy to clean off so if you use your fondant tools you can just clean them with slapdash and warm water and voila! Hope that helps! :)

Hello. Can this be put directly on a cake? Wouldn't it affect the cake and the people eating the cake since it is made of clay?

Hola! Gracias! En este video estoy utilizando arcilla polimérica. Esto es algo permanente y se puede dar como regalo. Pero si gusta, claro que si se puede hacer con azúcar comestible como fondant o gumpaste. Feliz Navidad! :)
