I made this cake for christmas as a topper for my cupcakes...the second time i ever tried useing fondant...I am just a beginner but it turned out ok...:)

Absolutely adore and love the look of this cake. What kind of chocolate cake are you using. It looks very firm. Mine always come out soft and difficult to work with although they taste scrummy.

Thank you Sharon! Todos los pasteles que hacemos los consideramos "specialty cakes". Cuando cobres por tu trabajo, siempre considera no nomas lo que te cuesta a ti, pero mas que nada la cantidad de tiempo que pases haciendo las decoraciones y decorando el pastel, mas todo el otro tiempo que pases planeando, diseñando, etc. Considera lo que una hora de tu tiempo vale en dólares. Eso te ayudara mucho aprender como cobrar. En el futuro cercano tendremos video donde platicamos sobre estos temas. :)
Could you make the trees with fondant instead of gum paste?
Sure! :) You'll get better results however using gum past as it holds its shape better. Thanks for the question.

Thank you! They are cuticle scissors (used of course only for decorating, LOL). :)
I always have a hard time with mini cakes staying in one place as I try to crumb coat and ice. How can I keep them from doing this? Thank you in advanced.
One thing that will help a lot will be to add the icing in between the layers, and then pop them in the freezer for about 15 minutes. This will make the icing get stiff and then when you crumb coat they won't move around on you. Do the same like I did in the video and pop them in the freezer before you do your final coat. A very cold cake makes it very easy to ice. :)
When covering with buttercream thereafter with sugar-asteroid, do u put the cake back to refrigerator
I live in a hot climate that is why I a checking this as people are telling me sugar paste cannot be put in refrigator

Hi Mira! We always put our cakes back into the refrigerator after icing. People who say a fondant covered cake should not be refrigerated are the ones that have problems with condensation (sweating) sticking to the outside of their cake. This can be easily avoided by making sure your work are is very cool and dry (free of humidity). Even if you live in a hot climate like we do ( we live in a hot desert), you can still have a cool dry work area in your home/studio. Hope that helps! :)

For these I used Fondx. :)
What is the liquid you put on the cake ?
We added sugar syrup (a.k.a. simple syrup) to add a little more moisture to the chocolate cake. It's not always needed but good to use when it is needed. You can find lots of tutorials on RUclips on how to make it. Hope that helps! :)
