- I bought the The AR-6 Tactical Repeating Crossbow from Steambow at Sportsman's Guide. I'm curious how fast, accurate and damaging it is... I also have a tomahawk.

lever action crossbows are incredible, also the slow mo with the frezzer was funny af
I know one thing, it's hot AF at the MB!
@@DaveFu yeah it was especially brutal while i was filming this too
Whoever does the montage of your videos - he's like... has the ambition of the Hollywood sound guy or sth, lol
That profile pic is scary AF Mike. Blue Freyr light huh? Why u trying to spook the Hard2Hurtians?
Somewhere out there a hearty german laugh is ringing out.
Jorge, is dat u?
His repeating longbow would be way faster and longer ranged than the crossbow here. (Instant Legolas)
@@Inquisitor_Vex I think he's actually featured that model before.
Or at least one very similar.
I prefer the adder myself, packs way more of punch, especially if some crazy german has modified it.
We definetly need a collab between these two dudes
That was a purpose built target shooting fun and home defense crossbow from the start, was made to do both exceptionally well and being designed by Joerg Sprave certainly helps.
I love when Mike is excited to play with new toys
Always love these fun “tacticool” weapon reviews
joergsprave invented the mag for these he also have info on a way to make the safety like a regular weapon.
Is that the one from JoergSprave?
I'm pretty sure it is, yeah. In fact last I heard the same model was up on his store.
Excellent episode, honestly one of your best in a while, thoroughly enjoyed it.
The real problem is that arrows take time to bleed out. even in a perfect shot it can still take a matter of forty seconds to multiple minutes to cause enough blood loss until final rest. ( Night night)
I've used much scarier broad heads than that, some animals don't even realize they are dead walking.
Adrenaline would play a huge factor in this. You would think it would hurt as bad as the whip, but it doesn't.
The next day, that's a different story.
Looking forward to the video on the trenchawk. I got me the trainer version and I would argue that is an even better self defense weapon than the real one. Mostly for legal reasons.
Good toy but if you want stopping power go for the Cobra RX Adder.
I had the same issue with the safety,a little Excalibur ex-oil for triggers and hardware will fix that right up making it smoother to operate
Daryles pretty cool with that bow. I just bought a crossbow from Facebook. It’s single shot but good.
You can even get better throwing limbs, that’s the bow part , you can get one that is not only more powerful but also faster
Great video. The new ar 6 stinger 2 is out. They sell hardened tips for coconuts
"There's some things about this that make me think it could work" Sometimes that's all that can be said, even when on the precipice of discovering something great... or not... now to finish watching to find out lol.
The ending reminded me of a scene from Gladiator!
You can add another cantilever bow to get the power of it up it's online on how to boost the power.
You will love the stinger two
I need you to review some tactical, repeating key chains.
icy mike should do a whole crossbow series this was great
Blind them with a torch and unload arrows into them seems like a good plan
Jöerg Sprave is happy for his invention called "Instant Legolas".
You would be an excellent soldier in ancient battles.
there is a larger version, a carbine called EK Archery RX Adder, which would be a better solution for sd, imo.
We now need an epic collaboration with you and DemolitionRanch.
I love that whoever is using a repeating crossbow or bow laughs like joerg sprave xD
And now we see the result of the cold steel Bucklers, Icy Mike's slow descent into HEMA.
Episode 3 years from now: "Are thrown Pommels really useful in a self defence situation?
Mike dismembering that cooler made Game of Thrones look like Barney the Dinosaur
Your destructive tendencies have taken on a cooler aspect.
I thought you were going to keep a lid on this, but....
Smaug reference. Mighty!
cool video idea
Interesting and fun. But seriously, Dude... you didn't see that coming with using your cooler?
I'm going to Mike's house if there's a zombie apocalypse.
Saw a thing called the air bow and it would go through a lot of stuff even some armor ( I will add I never know where people get thier armor so take that with a grain of salt because there is a lot of crapy made armor out there)
Mike has got to be the most dangerous and scary man child ever
"LET ME SHOW YOU ITS FEATURES!"
Also, with that beef + watermelon target you're 2 steps away from making a Paul Harrell parody, which I beg you to do, please.
"I don't know if it's powerful enough to stop a man... Yet. I'm gonna figure out some way to test it." Jay was conspicuously absent in this video.
might want to consider using a stump...no cooler murders necessary. and the cooler destruction would totally be me if i f-ed it up...might as well go all the way.
I'm very impressed at the shots between the lip of the cooler. If you were able to remove the safety, would it still be legal? I'm asking for a friend. Lol
Correct, we are mostly goop on the inside.
That cooler won't be giving you lip any more! 😄
Ty
I bet your neighbors are like WTF is he doing in the yard now!
To run this effectively as a primary. It must be paired with a large blade as secondary. No doubt your target will closing distance very quickly should you fail to instantly neutralize..
6:40 id say lethality confirmed. I wouldnt wanna take that to the chest..
Try pork belly. Skin side. That would be a good test through skin👍😎
Ok I was not expecting the attack to the cooler, and tet it was the coolest thing ln the video (ba dum tss)
This is Jorges baby
That beef is weaker because the most tough part before bones is the skin and there was none and dead meat is unnatural relaxed,so no matter what meat it is, living targets are tougher.
There Is the R9 adder which Is also semi automatic But Much more powerful
The pistol crossbow under the re-loader thing is sold under several brands, does anyone know what Chinese factory they come from? Or if the platform itself has a name? The one I have was sold under the brand "BearX" but everything under that magazine looks identical aside from the dyes in the plastic.
They are no joke. Mine has claimed a few squirrels, skunks, and raccoons, in a place where my pest control methods would be frowned upon.
If you pointed one at me, yes, I would reconsider what I was doing.
Unless you can hit the eye, go for the heart.
6:34
Icy Mike the dragon-slayer.
Bard has nothing on you.
You should check out the new one joergsprave showed on his channel.
This would mostly piss someone off, mostly, no provision for broad heads, I'd go with an umarex javelin, and blood bugs broad heads, I saw one of those take down a 120 pound whitetail deer, at 40 yards
man, I really want to see the upgraded bow front, I think there is one that's like 80-90 lbs
I'd rather use one of these monstrous 190lb crossbows with hunting heads (razor heads). I've seen balistic gels being perforated many times over by these ridiculous arrows. Talking stopping power, you can't beat that.
Well, that escalated quickly...
to get through hard things you need to get the bobken tips
I'm gonna need you to show me its features.
I knew he was gonna put a flashlight on it
To answer your question, I’m definitely stronger than a cow
Are you smarter though?
We have video evidence that you are stronger than a deer.
Prove it Seth
Sumo Seth seemed like he could tip some cows but only Krav Maga Seth would actually try.
Bro I know you’re just playing into the joke but HAVE YOU SEEN HOW BIG COWS GET
Look up Belgian Blue Bulls
"Crossbows wouldn't work against humans"
Every military throughout history that has used crossbows would like to have a word with you.
Hell yes! The effectiveness of newer tech doesnt change the effectiveness of the old school in its time.
We should test it out on himself.
I've fired many crossbow's and believe me a 200 lb draw crossbow with broad heads can easily kill a person 🙂
@@davidcooks5265 the stinger can Do it too if it can kill a hog
When a fellow breaks into your house so you whip out the 1,200 lb windlass crossbow and lob a heavy broadhead clean through his torso

You can remove the safety on this easily enough. Makes it a lot faster to shoot. You can get a stronger bow limb for the Stinger to make it more powerful. And for the hard surfaces, hardened bodkin tips work well. They can penetrate through metal.
hardened bodkins, piercing metal plates since the medieval era
Ya all need to stop....this might be my new favorite thing and I really, really don't need anymore weapons.

I just ordered the Limited Edition $2K for the kit... totally worth it.

Breaking news: “Humans have been found to be exactly ‘half cow density’”
Science!
@@hard2hurt that's like Paul Harrell's meat target. Paul Harrell has been shooting a similar target with fruit to simulate lung tissue for years on his channel. Were you by any chance inspired by him? He's a pretty funny guy.
@@AwesomeHotSauceandKristosCast precisely
What I though.
@@michaelkartman3543 he even said the word "caveat" at the end. I know Paul Harrell doesn't own that word, but after 11 years I think it's common-law married to him. Ha ha
@@hard2hurt certain not normal people have compared human flesh to the most tender veal, and veal is baby cow meat so its even softer than normal beef.
I love the thought process. “A slight inconvenience happened to my cooler, I must destroy it.”
I personally wouldn’t classify that Ax as a slight inconvenience
@@zmanftwx8023 If by "Ax" you mean "Axe" (in this case, a tomahawk), then I'm pretty sure that's not what LiftingCatholic was talking about, but rather the crossbow bolts stuck in the cooler earlier.
@@jeanackle Miriam-Webster:
Definition of ax
(Entry 1 of 4)
1 : a cutting tool that consists of a heavy edged head fixed to a handle with the edge parallel to the handle and that is used especially for felling trees and chopping and splitting wood
If you're going to be a spelling Nazi, be right.
@@the_guitarcade I wasn't criticizing the spelling of the word, rather Zmanftw X80's referring to the "slight inconvenience" as being the tomahawk, when I'm pretty sure LiftingCatholic was referring to the crossbow bolts.
Indeed, I was not aware of that other spelling of axe as ax. But I was genuinely also not sure Zmanftw X80 was referring to said "cutting tool". Indeed, as far as I knew, they might have been reffering to the bolts, sp. some type/brand/model/whatever of bolts; didn't seem likely, but it's also not impossible. Indeed, I didn't even know whether it was just a simple unintended typo (as when you hit a key, but the PC somehow doesn't register it). And this is the sole reason why I made the remark about ax/axe.
At any rate, I'm sure everyone is thankful for your efforts to rid the World of the ignorant spelling Nazis.
And without that last comment of yours, I'd just have genuinely thanked you for informing me about the meaning of "ax".
As soon as I saw the mgazine on this thing I thought 'Oh, cool, Joerg Sprave managed to get it in proiduction, I haven't visited his channel for a while, I should do that.' 2:32 If Joerg Sprave was American, this would be it exactly. Mike Sprave, show me it's features.
Oh, you really haven't visited Joerg's channel in a very long while. The Stinger's been in production for a few years. And so has the Adder (more powerful, with a different cocking mechanism and with some improvements to the whole "magazine" system). The Fenris (magazine for compound bow) has been out for.. an year or two?
I may be forgetting something...
@@jeanackle Cool, thanks for the update.

@Benjamin Muller Thanks, I'll take a look.
I wonder what Mike would say if he seriously looked at HEMA him and his buckler, machete, tomahawk, and crossbow is bretty medieval already lol let's see him learn the techniques too
I suggest this,HEMA has a lot of good melee concepts that are peculiar and innovative to american sensibilities

"Let me show you it's features" - Joerg Sparve
"You can't use a crossbow against people, it wouldn't work"

He means relative to a person with a gun. Also crossbows we’re used primarily by archer teams or every entire brigades. Not just in one on one.
@@reidtaylor5019 this has a quick reloading system..

brb hold my bodkin tips
Excellent video! I own the Stinger I (aluminium version) and I like it. Upgraded it with the stronger limbs (90 lbs.) and added some accessories (red dot, torch, quiver with speed-loader ... maybe I'll even add a bayonet in the near future) . Btw. the safety can be easily removed, therefore You do not have to work the safety every shot.
Yo do u bow hunt at all what you think about using this on the ground say around 20-30 yards think it would kill a deer?
Where did you find the aluminum version?
@@Kjk-lb1ox Bought it a few years ago short after release.
When you go the Hard2Hit channel to watch the latest vid and get a matchup of Demolition Ranch and Brandon Herrera with things getting destroyed.
Was not expecting Mike to go full Office Space at the end there.
The first thing I thought is: can we get a long-lasting neuro-toxin gel to store our bolts in? They are small, and the penetration seems fine, but with a little paralytic on the tip this thing gets super interesting.
Yes!
Dude...
@@hard2hurt 😂😂
You can remove the safety pretty easily by punching out that safety latch retaining pin. It's safe to remove with this crossbow because it's magazine-fed, so you're not needing to load anything by hand into a cocked crossbow. Just always point it downrange in a safe direction.
Try explaining what happened to the Walmart employee when returning the cooler.
In order to penetrate something like a coconut or a skull, you need the Bodkin arrows(bolts) They have a hardened tip for more tactical situations.
look at my chanel u need hight quality carbon arrows and strong crossbow , easily done with broadheads
Crossbows have captured my imagination since I was a boy and saw one on the cover of a fantasy novel. Now I wonder if they're as useful as lethal flashlights.
Lethal flashlights? Lol
The safety pin can be removed and arrows with bodkin tips will penetrate the coconut. This should do the job, and if not... stronger bow limbs are available too. Or take the Stinger II, which is slightly more powerful. Definitely a fun little toy.
came for the crossbow review, stayed for (what was clearly needed) icymike's psychotherapy session lol thanks for the video!

Also, digging the Paul Harrell meat target.
"I have to be half cow density." Wisdom quotes only apearing in RUclips-Vids.
Mike I got my dad a pistol crossbow years ago and after a few weeks of use the string started to unravel. Preparedmind101 said if you wax them they shouldn't do that and last longer.
I expect to see you and Jay testing this on each other next video
"Good morning class, what did you do this weekend?"
"I spent it filming my dad destroy a cooler with a crossbow, a tomahawk and a machete for his youtube channel"

I was onboard till the senseless destruction of a perfectly good cooler.
The "razor ones" are called 2D broad heads typically used for hunting. Just some fyi dude.
