Bruh, that reaction proportion of the video had me cacklin. I f**king died at 22:35; I'm surprised no one has made that joke sooner. As for my thoughts on Season 12, I actually really enjoy it, and it's my favorite season of the HiT era surprisingly. I mean, the writing's still dogshite but I don't take it too seriously, and I still manage to find plenty of things to enjoy. I also know that Brandon's narration might have not been the best for some people, at least for this season, but I don't know, this is like my second favorite season that he's narrated behind 7. His energy is still present, and the voices or line reads that he does for the characters are unironically hilarious to me. I stan Hispanic Hector.
Season 12 is one of my favorite seasons. I've watched it sometimes, and it's still one of my favorite seasons, and it's going to stay like that forever ❤
3:28 This is why I love Peter Sam. He’s very eager but also very mature. When it comes to any job, he’ll take it with no argument. He and Percy should meet up sometime. They’ve got a lot in common
I feel like Hank is a character in the later seasons could’ve been used very well because if I remember correctly, there was a streamliner introduced that was based off the New York Central Hudson’s (I think his name is Connor ) and because Hank is based off of the Pennsylvania railroad K4 I feel like the two would have a very nice dynamic Especially considering some of the real life railroad history but one can dream
Glad to see I'm not the only one who luled at the "QUICK DUCK. MOVE NOW!!!" Line delivery Brandon gave. You could probably make a whole "Noises of Michael Brandon" video and have it be only Season 12 for how scuffed his narration was this season.
at the end of the day its just a kids show expecting anything else is setting yourself up for disappointment I personally think season 12 was brave for trying something new. Its not reinventing the wheel but its a nice change. you had some great points in this video and did an excellent job presenting them.❤
I appreciate your respectful attitude and I get what you're saying, but just because something is made for kids isn't the excuse for MOSTLY mediocre writing.
@ThomasShorts123 I heard that Pierce Brosnan originally narrated Season 12, but his dub was never released. My theory is that Pierce owns his dub on a private dvd.
As someone that has since looked down upon Season 12 following that season being where the writing gradually took a sharp decline and other things too obvious for me to mention, I can say there are positives with Season 12 I do have such as Harold being CGI, James and Hector's dynamic, adding Hank as the first American tender engine with Hank also being the best newbie while Colin was just there and Flora was just completely useless (especially in her debut episode), the filming quality being a step upgrade, but with a much better looking lighting and camera font than Season 11's admittedly, and despite having wished they went for full CGI after "The Great DIscovery" and Season 11, and we do get to see more of Stanley. And props to you for bringing back Garfield!
I must give one thing to Season 12 and that is that it used a lot more of the secondary characters. I feel like only Duke and BoCo didn't appear at all during the HiT Era. Everyone else returned at least for Season 12. Also, I can probably sit through some Season 12 episodes, unlike ANY of the Nitrogen Era episodes.
Something I've never heard anyone bring up when talking about season 12 is it's color grading. The colors this season pop a lot more, and the blues are way deeper than the rest of the HiT Era. Seasons 8-11 have a big issue of being a pale yellow/dull blue with not much color (un-aided with the set designs), but this season felt a bit more lively with it's colors! Also yea feel free to 🤓 react me for this thing about color grading
Behind Season 9, Season 12 is my second favorite of the Hit Era. I love these CGI elements, the lore, and all the different characters thatt appear throughout. Yeah it's not perfect by any means but it does have a little bit of charm and it's quite nostalgic.
Exactly. Plus this is one of the few times in this era where they followed character development. At least Sir Handel becoming more mature is nowhere near as unbelievable as Skarloey and Rheneas becoming children.
Despite Season 12 aging badly I do find this season nostalgic to me because of the cgi faces and I remember seeing some episodes from this season on a season 12 dvd I had called Heave Ho Thomas but this season will still be nostalgic to me and I would rate this season a C and a 7/10
Compared to some of the episodes in BWBA (and the Miller era to an extent) season 12 is tame in comparison. While I’m not really a fan of Flora and Colin because the the people making them probably forget to give them a personally but I think Hank was good and I wish we got to see more of him. Also there were some parts I found humorous such as 2:12, 9:45, 10:59, 13:56, this whole entire scene 18:39. I kinda feel like this could be used as a meme template 19:04, the whole part of Thomas’s love for Flora and Henrietta’s jealousy of her was funny to me
While I don’t like Season 12, at least there was a season to transition from Models to full CGI. Sure the writing is poor, the CGI has aged poorly, and logic is all over the place. But at least there was a transition between the two eras. Compared to how other changes were handled later, HIT must be given credit for having us ease into changes.
honestly if you ask me think the best season of the hit era is season 11, why? 1: while episode like don’t be silly billy exist there’s actually hand full of great episode such gordon and the mechanic/engineer, emily the garbage/rubbish engine, cool truckings and hector the horrid. 2: the sets aren’t as cheap and boring as the other seasons. 3: a few minor characters make returns such as arthur, murdoch, elizabeth, even donald and douglas. 4: the great discovery, need I say more?
Finally somebody that doesn't think season 12 is not bad I'm really really nostalgic to season 12 because I watch it on sprouts and I got team up with Thomas DVD
Dw guys my friend convinced Unlucky Tug and Trampy that Push Me Pull You ain't that bad by telling them he had the best sandwich of his life the first time he watched the ep on his dvd player, it's all good
I would say my favorite episodes of Season 12 in my opinion would be Best Friends, The Party Surprise, Gordon Takes a Shortcut, Thomas Puts the Brakes On, Saved You & Excellent Emily. All 6 episodes can be found on Railway Friends (which is my favorite Season 12 episodic release in my opinion)
Watching your review of S12 was a breath of fresh air. Not because it wasn't just a typical "Let's beat the dead CG horse model and explain why it's bad" review, rather you wanted to be entertained and how you enjoy the series as it's own. Are there continuity issues and lack of logic in S12, yes absolutely. But I like how you didn't over think about the season and just wanted to be entertained and enjoying the experience as a whole. I doubt your be doing more videos like this, but if ever you do, I'm intrigued.
I remember seeing season 12 on Sprout and yeah. It’s a very weird season. Every time I see the characters talk in season 12, it sounds like Michael Brandon is talking to Michael Brandon which is super hilarious to me.
THEY MADE 2 BRASS MODELS OF HANK AND USED HIM FOR 5 MIN OF SCREEN TIME WITH NO CRASHES WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
It’s okay, it’s not cool to kill off Stepney after not appearing in Series 6 (not counting 7 he only appeared in stock footage) But at least the US give him a last dialogue.
Season 12 of the beloved children's franchise "Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends" is in fact, the absolute peak of storytelling in the writing community, for it contains the episode "Push Me Pull You" which is a wonderful roller coaster of emotions. When Skarlowee crashed into those trucks of totally ice cream and not anything else, I felt it man, I felt that sticky shit land all over my body. Truly, 'twas the finest experience of a life time, the closest some of us will ever get to heaven ❤
This is way better than Series 11 or 13! Why I love this? 20 Episodes! It’s unbelievable talent with the CGI face! The Screen is amazing! Make things more colorful! Series 12: 7/10!
I‘ll say this. I think Season 12, as, there are some good ideas, and James Works It Out, is undeniably, the best we had, aside from pacing issues. On its own, it is ok to watch, but it definitely had its issues. It’s not as painful as certain parts of other seasons including every episode, but I wouldn’t say it beats out Season 7. Overall, there’s just nothing more I can say. I never grew up with this season, and I‘m just kind of ok with it, nothing more, nothing less. Like I said, it could have had rewrites, but it isn’t all bad either.
Honestly, there are some things that I like about season 12 (the returning characters, Hector and Peter Sam's arcs, etc), but still it's not a good note to end on. I'm one of those who don't find it AS bad as people say it is, but it's really hard for me to disagree with others' opinions on it. Push Me, Pull You is no doubt the worst, but it's at least funny to joke around when watching it. Stepney returned only to get sugar thrown on him 💔
I've always viewed Henry Gets It Wrong to be a really dumb episode. Like, what the hell is stopping Salty from just... pushing the trucks in front of him out of the way from the wishing tree? Are the trucks brakes on or something? It's never explained!
“So I watch season 12 and got cgi faces over my already existing body too because this is coronavirus” I will admit though that this season marks a good transition season visually because without this season and going from The Great Discovery to Hero of the Rails, it’s just too jarring to see with a totally different design on sets.
People think this is the worst season?!?! Seriously? I love everything HiT so im bias, but even from the outside its not bad imo. Also this was a fun watch
People saying this is the worst season of the HiT Era or even the whole show are completely delusional. There are much worse examples. There are flaws. Many of them. But there is quite a lot to enjoy if you look. I do wish they kept Brosnan, and they did Stepney dirty, but those are my main gripes.
Season 12 isn’t peak? Uhh did you see Handsome Hank?
Note: Hank died on the way back to his home planet
(/ref)
They even made 2 models of him
we peaked as a species during season 12
@@StoneTankEngine I agree
You have a crush on Hank don’t you Diana😏
