I only found out because Sledgehammer just tweeted it, but apparently you can cut through a riot shield with it, which does add a little bit of interesting utility.
Meant to happen, or did they say they would be patching it? I hope it was mant to happen cause I'm sick of them accidently do things at this point. 😂
@@jonathanwilson1539 it seems to be intentional, they described it like it was a special tip and showed off a gif of it working and everything.
By the time you actually pierce the shield you can get smacked two times and die lmao, not worth it imo

In Multiplayer is better then average but in Zombie is so much fun to run in front of a little horde (Epic and PAP 2)
Heard it's good in the first two tiers. It's a joke in Tier 3 even PaP3 and Legendary Tool

An underbarrel liquid nitrogen thrower that makes the ground extra slippery so you can slide infinitely.
Honestly, they could do that with a weapon skin that has the JAK Purifier attached and a custom death animation.
I would prefer an underbarrel launcher that sends EMD grenades, a bit further than you can throw them.
The closest we will get to a Gears of War crossover and im here for it.
I wouldn't be surprised if a Marcus, Dom, or Horde skin shows up in the store, along with a Lancer skin for one of the ARs.
You know Microsoft owns cod now so gears stuff will probably happening.
Obviously some things can exist in this game just to be purely fun and not to be in the meta but if they are willing to make changes, just being able to run with it would make it so much more effective

The passive benefit is overshadowed by the fact that the breacher muzzles also improve your melee damage to a one hit kill, and that also frees up your underbarrel slot for grips or other underbarrel weapons.
So... it's probably much less than a gimmick at this point.
Nah this is better cause it vaporizes your enemies.
if you're using a suppressor on a low-recoil weapon, it's an alternate option for close range. Highly situational, but it's a fun idea

yeah and even in zombies it's got its use and it works just fine until tier 3, but it's offset by how much of a blast it is

I love the contrast of Ace talking about the downsides and trade-offs of using the chainsaw, while the gameplay on screen is him getting a split quad and clearing the B objective single handedly with it. I know his gameplay is just highlights, but I found it funny.

A little surprised there's no range benefit compared to other melee options, the thing is surprisingly long and mounted on the end of what could be a long gun. I'd have expected that to be the trade off for the "active" mode which otherwise right now is just kind of pointless to have.
The gore/blood splatters after getting kills with this is giving me gears of war vibes 😄Wish it had its own finishing move where we go full gears of war with this thing.

The unrived "chainsaw" instantly kills enemies with a single weak slice, meanwhile in raved mode it requires some time to kill. This doesn't make sense for both realistic and balancing reason.
exactly like there litery no point of activating it since u can just get a one hit melee at the same range. also like ace said it’s an under barrel which is a very important category with better attachments. it u want a one hit melee ur better off using that one muzzle attachment since muzzles aren’t as powerful as under barrels
I give credit to Sledgehammer for experimenting with weird or fun attachments (JAK BFB, the hybrid compensator/muzzle flash, the conversion kits, this thing, etc.), but you're better off with the knife or a one hit muzzle attachment here. I hope they increase its damage or range at some point.

Seems like it would be great for the riveter. You're already in close quarters, and that shotgun doesnt need all 5 slots to be great.

COD logic, a swipe of a knife is one hit. Getting railed by a chainsaw is 3 hits to kill 💀. They should have made it like a modern bayonet where if you have it active you can sprint with it.
That's what I assumed it was going to be. Allowing a sprint fire mode so you could charge with it active would've been so fun.
The logic is accurate, in a sense.
Its so dumb that the passive upside massively outweights the active use and it shows you on the map on top of all of that.
If the active use mode still killed in one "hit" I could see some use cases for it. As it is, I can't see any reason to use it, aside from MAYBE using it to destroy a Turret, and literally nothing else.

Another extremely large benefit from this thing is that it can go through riot shields.
It definitely does while you're swapped to it, but I don't know if it still does while you're just normally meleeing with it.
IMO if the weight of whatever attachment like this effects ads then it should also contribute to recoil control since the weight should keep that barrel down.
What about the muzzles that add to melee? Do they do anything for the attachment? Does the Ninja vest help?
Serious question, does the passive stack with the muzzle attachments that increase melee damage? Thinking might improve warzone vs plates against those tonfa users

Man ever since this free trial ended, my lobbies have been sweatier than they have ever been before. SBMM cranked up to the max.
Activating this attachment is actually considered as firing, which can accelerate the RoF of JAK thunder LMG kit.
I wonder if they’ll add a underbarrel rpg or add another aftermarket part for the holger 556 to turn it into a oicw. It’ll highly not come out. But don’t give up hope
I just use the throwing knife for a one hit melee, so if you don't have an lethal that's very important to you that's a good alternative
@TheXclusiveAce You are mistaken at 6:33 when you say there aren't any more attachments that increase move speed stats. There is a muzzle attachment that boosts move speed and Melee damage. The C400 Door Knocker

Does the damage from chainsaw stack with the muzzle that helps with tac stance spread and melee damage?
is it any good against equipment, streaks, or juggernauts while using it actively?

Don’t forget the benefit of the sheer gore. But overall a one hit melee muzzle is better. Plus there’s one that adds more move speed. Always have one on my pistol
Does letting go of the tirgger reset the rave delay instantly or over time?
Does the melee damage increase stack if you're using a breacher muzzle attachment?
What about the C400 Door Kicker as a muzzle attachment? It slightly increases movement speed but I'm not sure how it would impact the melee functionality of the rifle.
And what if we have both Limb ripper and throwing knives equipped? Which one will be prioritized for the melee attack? Will it still be the Ripper?
Seems like it would be great for handling juggernauts.
Watch them do a water gun under barrel for a summer event
the one-hit melee feature is nice until you realize there are muzzle brakes that also buff your melee to a one-hit, and some of them even have really nice additional benefits like hipfire and tac stance spread, which are already great for close-quarters gun builds.
I'd be curious to know how those stack with the limb ripper though - do they stack both benefits? would it become way faster at destroying equipment than either individually? e.g. sentry turrets and trophy systems
I really feel like if they just made it usable while sprinting, it would be in a perfectly fine state

COD actually did it, they made a basic knife better then a literal chainsaw.
does the chainsaw work for zombie camos ( or any other challenge) where you need to get kills in point blank distance?
I’ll stick to using a throwing knife. still get that one hit melee, and a nice lethal, and using an under barrel grip or something
It should definitely have a longer attack range when it's actively toggled. At least make it equal to the average range of dedicated melee weapons

Out of curiosity does having a silencer keep you off radar when using the chainsaw?
I think it would benefit severely from a range increase. 1.6 meters or 1.8 meters would be perfect - far enough to be melee viable, not far enough to abuse. That would at least in my opinion balance a lot of those downsides, and it would make sense considering that it's underbarrel, so you reasonably would have quite a bit of reach.
Na they should add a underbarrel grapple hook that would be lit🔥🔥🔥
Just an additional benefit, the chainsaw can kill riot shielders through their shield, kind of like with the flamethrower.
I would love this for under barrel of a pistol, just for it to look ridiculous.

the Knife takes precedence over the gunbutt, so you'll use it.

Now all they need to do is make this the only weapon you can use in ranked. That would be a fun time.

Expanding the scenarios for use of the limb Ripper:
You now can have lethals other than the throwing knife and still get a 1 hit meelee kill off of your primary weapon.
You can now have a secondary / side arm other than knives and still get a 1 hit meelee kill
For Zombies: You can now have a gun to mow down hoards that get too close to you when your Ammo runs out and you can't reload.
Over all, this weapon balances viability and fun very nicely.
There are muzzle attachments that boost other stats, as well as melee damage. Like the C400 Door Knocker, which boosts movement speed alongside melee. They also open back up your underbarrel slot for something better. As is, this underbarrel attachment is pretty pointless considering all the other, much better, options to do the same thing. They should have given it a charge attack like the bayonet had, and it should definitely one hit kill when active, not require 3. As it stands, there is no reason to ever use the active mode, unless you're trying to reverse boost. 😂

Is there an easy way to find out what aftermarket part goes with what gun? I know some of them are parts that can be equipped on many guns, and other ones are conversion kits and stuff for specific guns
But it seems like the game does not want to give that information up anywhere, so every time I get a new aftermarket part I find myself googling for like 20 minutes trying to find what gun it goes with
Is there an easy source of information ?
I’m about to start going to the new one of this week, the mag lift kit … I had a Google for like 10 minutes and looking through a bunch of sites to find out that it’s something that’s meant to go with the haymaker shotgun…

It's probably never viable in any game mode, but anyone who plays purely for fun will have a blast with this.
I actually despise how people are saying it’s useless, pointless, etc. it’s just a fun weapon. People wanting to strictly abuse the meta / best possible class setups makes MP so absurdly boring.
No offense but you missed A LOT.
1. It cuts through the riot shield in active mode (actually saws through it)
2. Riveter with max speed is much better than the AR.
3. It absolutely is the best melee in the game post nerfs. Follow up hits are what does this.
Also, you sadly can't equip this or the flame thrower on MW2 guns. I'm waiting for that update...
Also the tracer rounds can't be unlocked on any gun theyre on? They should be available in all calibers. Same with MW3 new ammo types not being on most MW2 weapons. Mono rounds, or hardened rounds for example
