One thing I noticed after watching that someone pointed out that's interesting here is each narrator represents one of the 5 stages of grief:
Nora- Anger
Oscar- Denial
Ren- Bargaining
Winter- Depression
Qrow- Acceptance
(Though in regards to nora and winter both could be anger/depression).
That version of "This will be the Day" always hits me deep

I dont think Raven "sensed" Yangs return. I think she kept trying to open portals to her over and over after hearing what happened, refusing to believe she was gone, then suddenly, one worked.
I think volume 2 somewhat proves that Raven can sense something about the people she's connected to through her semblance. But I would also like to think that she def. tried opening portals over and over with no results driving her mad.
@Th3Builder45 I get what you mean but with the vol 2 post scene where she finally talks with Yang I assumed she meant to finally talk with Yang the whole time but happened to show up when Yang was losing a fight. Because if she could have sensed Yang needing help why wasn't she at the fall of Beacon? Yang needed help that whole night. But either way, even if she has some form of sense to it, I still fully believe she was trying to open portals over and over for days. When suddenly it opened.
@@norric1 She wasn't at the Fall of Beacon because her rule was 'I will save her ONCE'.
@@norric1 Yeah I don't think there really is any concrete proof she can sense anything. It's circumstantial at best. I do however think she chose not to save Yang at beacon based on her "Save you once" rule and her conversation with Qrow in V4 also indicates to me, that she could have saved her, but didn't. But I also wouldn't be surprised that actually losing Yang (being unable to portal to her) could cause her to constantly try opening portals and being fully in denial of Yang being gone. At this point I just really hope we get to see some more Raven either in the V9 Beyond stuff or extra hopeful: Volume 10!

For some context on who Tyrian and Mercury freed, they're a dangerous group called The Crown and they're explored in the After the Fall and Before the Dawn books so definitely pick those up if you can. They're fantastic.
Yeah I agree I just finished the books before watching and am glad I did.
We needed this just to understand how much team Rwby meant to everybody even the one's that never met them and only saw Ruby on the brief transmission.
The way I had to prepare myself for a solid two hours when it dropped like I was not gonna be okay, I got to Nora sobbing and had to slam that pause button and just curse Sam Ireland’s fucking heart because that broke me.
I still maintain that Glynda's symbol being a CROWN has to mean something, especially since she was in the first episode. Whatever she's doing away from Vacuo, it's Crown related.

I was freaking out when I saw the “ No Place for Royalty” and “ Long live the Crown” especially with it being connected to Ren talking about Jaune.

The only person who could know is Lewis, and there's a solid chance he's not alive. It was a children's book that they read 15 years ago and who knows how old it was back then. Even Oz in vol 8 regards it as an old story. So Lewis could be gone, and he was bound to be the only other person to know anything about the Everafter being real.
The epilogue had me in tears but they left us on such a hopeful note 😭😭

IDK if its jsut them being hopeful, but Eddie's statement at the beginning was pretty declarative. "your going to see some version of this in season 10." Makes me hopeful that they have a deal going well on the back end and it just slipped through in the editing, as opposed to saying "if season 10 get greenlit..."

I am glad that if this 11 and 12 of season 9 they ran out of money. Not because they are not good they are good but 9 needs to stop at its up note.
And this works way better as start of 10.
I would have liked 9 to have some more world building like a night at the mouse village. Some explains and the ruin structures at the Princes lands. Maybe a night in town before the peddler shows up the girls seam to run on way too little rest and sleep. Maybe a clue what the ruins and stuff the Jabberwocky was pawing around in. Probably don’t need an explanation for the playing board that they were playing on but the Chess pawns and vast unused parts of the board hint the King played some sort of Chess variant and the Princes simpler game sign of his immaturity.

Warner probably wants to sell the big IPs, so I assume the question is, who is buying it what will they do with it.
@@sqxbarto9229I still think my idea Warner will kill Rooster Teeth to get RWBY to DC is a possibility. I posted this way back at or before end of 9 hearing Rooster Teeth problems.
But this idea depends on Rooster Teeth’s sale to Warner included agreements that as long as Rooster Teeth was viable it could not be broken up nor stuff transferred out to other parts of the company.
And more recently thought the clauses include if broken up each part be offered on open market or something like that so that Rooster Teeth sellers get something.
Or it just a lot of cover for RWBY going to DC for both good and possible ill. The ill being once the Salem situation over RWBY was planned to end. Now that RWBY part of DC universe it will then become involved in that maybe even full time. This RWBY lasts for centuries of our time with all the ups and downs that involves. Show runners will change. Mess up things than next one fixes and so on.
Original RWBY gets redone in 3D holographic sooner or later.

All the rumors that were saying Vol9 was suppose to be 11 or 12 chapters, then RT denying it, then CRWBY couldn't say anything, makes that opening frustrating.
Don't forget to react to Cake station's R.U.B.Y. OVA 2 "The invincible girl". So good.
- The Kerry and Eddy bit at the start is very recent like last Thursday (as of 3/31/24), so they're still working on trying to get a new home for the RWBY IP; rather than treating it as done for.
- The way the Glynda bit was phrased = the start of a villain arc xD (personally I think she's alive just off the comms).
- Love that Renora isn't just suddenly back together but instead continuing to legit staying friends w/ Nora figuring out who she is
- Qrow's "You sent a message...and the world answered" in an emotional way that only Jason is capable of bringing out of Qrow just runs me over getting water-eyes every.single.time. This type of scene are why I'm so glad to have Jason as Qrow's VA cause he brings in the vulnerable, shaky, emotional, and also proud of his nieces all within a voice.
- ofc I'm going to point and lose my mind over the BB arms around the each other's shoulders part cause official couple!
- Love the "Remember her message" fully done up artwork is so good and also hits my emotion center like a wrecking ball
- When (if, cause I can't do absolutes) the series finds its new home everybody needs to give Kerry & Eddy the biggest praises and respect ever; since they seem to be at the front of the fight to keep RWBY moving forward.
