Personally, I'd advise not watching them in the order they came out, and saving them for... *later* You may need another antidote at some point, and it would be a shame to waste all of this early. Do finish Season 1 first, since you've already started it.

Even though it's all comedy, it's given us more insight into some characters and has expanded the world in a weird, roundabout way.
Professor Peach is also mentioned once in volume 1, I believe... I think it's mentioned that it was professor Peach who they are getting the sap for in the forest of Forever Fall... Enjoyed your Chibi reactions. Of course there are a lot of hidden or double meanings behind some of these skits that every person may not notice. Some of them being: - The attitudes of the characters in specifically this season are more relatable to their V1-2 versions of themselves. Later in the other seasons, they seem to take aspects of post V2 characteristics and add new characters to spice it up a bit. - A lot of people believe that the part where Ruby is reading Blake’s book and says, “now that’s a katana”, is her actually admiring an actual Katana since she likes examining other peoples’ weapons. And not her admiring some dudes slong. - Classic “TumbleZwei”. - RT making fun of their V1 animation by pointing out the “shadow people” and how they reused models to make the background people. - Ruby reading a “Camp Camp” comic, which is another RT IP. Definitely another series that I would personally love for you to check out after RWBY, but of course it isn’t for everyone. Roughly 10 hours compared to RWBY which is currently at 30 hours if you include all the extra material. - Pretty much like Nora said, “Nothing bad ever happened”, meaning any dead characters from the main series will be able to live in Chibi. - The reason Nora gets kicked out of the Arcade is because she uses her own hammer when playing the “Whack-a-Grimm” game. Since she most likely destroyed the machine and maybe others nearby, she gets kicked out but still receives the max Stuffed Bear prize because she technically hit all the pop-up Grimm in the machine. - One of the few times they reference V3 with Yang believing she is fat because Neon said it during their fight. Of course everyone would get jealous if you could eat a whole cake and look the exact same without exercising. - Couldn’t tell if you said “no” to Pyrrha helping with the VHS tapes because of Pyrrha’s hesitation, or the actual reason. Technically it is due to her Polarity, or specific the magnetism part of her powers, if activated, would completely erase the material recorded on the VHS tapes. A joke that is used to confirm how old someone is. I’m nearly 26, and played around with VHS tapes a bit and knew about the effect of magnets on writing and erasing. However, that joke flew right past me since I never dealt with one in many years. - Nora not being completely smart with “R+N”. For all we know, it could mean “Ren+Neptune” or any of the other 7 characters that have their name start with an “N”. - Don’t care for ASMR either, but is a reference to the multiple ASMR videos they did throughout their different channels. - The way Ruby and Yang are trying to heal Weiss makes me believe they were raised in a “Faith Healing” Church environment, where they reject modern medicine and treat illnesses by praying to God, cleansing any disbeliefs and doing good deeds for the church. If you played Life is Strange 2, you would experience the darker side of this faith. - Blake already wants Yang in bed ;) Definitely missed some, and I’ll let others add or correct me on some of these references.
Rather than a faith healing church environment, I think it's meant to be more of a home remedy thing... Or like a parental care sort of thing... You get a cold and your parent might make you chicken soup... A bad throat? They'll make you up some hot honey and lemon tea or something... They tuck you up in bed with a hot water bottle and your teddy bear... Maybe put on your favourite film to distract you from feeling bad... Maybe read you a story... It's kinda old fashioned, but yeah... Hopefully you have some frame of reference for that... The whole milk is meant to be like a comfort thing...

The next several volumes of RWBY do still have genuinely nice moments that are worth seeing and a lot of character growth. I personally have a friend who stopped watching the show after V3 despite enjoying it up until that point but I’ve been pestering him to continue watching as their is a lot that is worth seeing and a lot of good take aways in the show. If every day was sunny the rain would never help the world grow.

After what we all went through watching the original with all the horror our heroes are going against, especially around Ruby, we need a bit a cuteness from the chibi.
Aside from what others have said, as I recall, Chibi came about, as the creators felt the main series was taking a darker turn than the originally intended audience was quite ready to deal with; thus, the totally non-canon mayhem of Chibi resulted...well...non-canon, except for ONE thing that turns up in a season 2 skit that ends up *becoming* canon! :)

I hope you've enjoyed the catharsis from RWBY Chibi. The old man shopkeeper running everything is a running gag throughout the series, as I'm sure you've realized. I'm with you, though. I can't stand Jaune, even today. He's as selfish as they come, has acted like a jerk since the beginning of the show, and he blames everyone else for things that happen. The music at 31:45 always reminds me of the music you'd find in a Super Mario game. lol Of course, the music, and sound effects, have always been on point in RWBY and still are. I don't know if it was mentioned, but Nora and pancakes are always a way to take you back to the first volume. Remember, when Jaune decided to suck it up and take Pyrrha up on her offer to help train him, just before he asked her help, she asked him to join them for pancakes and that there wasn't any more syrup and that he could "thank Nora for that." Barbara Dunkleman, the voice actress of Yang, is well known among the employees at RT as being a jokester who loves one-liners, puns, and dad jokes. That's why they added so many in the series for her, as well as accentuating it in Chibi.
I left this in the breakdown list obviously, but I do recommend you take the time to finish S1 of Chibi before jumping into V4. Also, I bunched them together in the same list, but the 4 WORs prior to Chapter 1 and the character short together are less than 20 minutes in total so there’s no reason not to get all five done in one pre weekend video and make things easier when you do get started. As far as the batch itself, a couple things to clear up on: The TV reporter, Lisa Lavender, who also appears in the main show, is voiced by the same VA who performs for Pyrrha. You can actually hear it if you listen closely. The reason Shopkeep kicks Nora out of the arcade is she’s Nora. She broke the place. The skit of Pyrrha getting startled by Nora has become one of the most (in)famous memes in the RWBYVerse, entitled “Pyrrha’s Unholy Scream” and is frequently used as a GIF - particularly when someone predicts what’s going to happen in the main show. The skit involving the shadow people is a call back to Volume 1 when all the non essential characters were all silhouettes and not animated. CRWBY used parts from the main character models to create the shadow people, which is why Ruby said “some of them look like us…” Obviously, the stage play at the end is a nod to Ruby’s inspiration of Little Red Riding Hood, but it also breaks the fourth wall more by calling her a Mary Sue character: a young female character, uncharacteristically free of weaknesses, and usually overpowered. Which was going around a lot after her silver eyes stunt at the end of Volume 3. Basically Chibi is funny but it’s also doing everything with a wink and a nod because they can do things here the main show would never try. In short, take one more weekend of Chibi and then proceed, you deserve the relaxation. Personally I’d say V4 is a little less intense than V3 (how could it not be), but there’s still going to be plenty to uncover and figure out. 🙂

1st and more importantly: Blakes book, a tale of a man with two souls. She was reading that in the 2nd episode, talking about how the two souls fought over control of the man.....that can't POSSIBLY come up later in the show as foreshadowing, can it? 2nd, and more funny, the last scene with Blake "eating" Yang really appeals to the 12 year old version of myself, considering how "close" they are to each other.

Watching Chibi to hide from the main show is extremely relatable. The main show may drag me outside and shoot me in the feels but chibi will always make me laugh.

Love RWBY Chibi. I honestly recommend watching with the subtitles, because there are some pretty funny notes left in some of them. Im glad youre enjoying the ride so far!

Aside from what others have said, as I recall, Chibi came about, as the creators felt the main series was taking a darker turn than the originally intended audience was quite ready to deal with; thus, the totally non-canon mayhem of Chibi resulted...well...non-canon, except for ONE thing that turns up in a season 2 skit that ends up *becoming* canon! :)
I've watched the main show, WOR, Grimm Eclipse and Fairy Tales but I never watched Chibi. As much as I enjoy Chibi art style, I was so bored to try this show before. Now I'll start watching it with you. Great to see you back, Ghost 👻

The old man shopkeeper running everything is a running gag throughout the series, as I'm sure you've realized.
I'm with you, though. I can't stand Jaune, even today. He's as selfish as they come, has acted like a jerk since the beginning of the show, and he blames everyone else for things that happen.
The music at 31:45 always reminds me of the music you'd find in a Super Mario game. lol Of course, the music, and sound effects, have always been on point in RWBY and still are.
I don't know if it was mentioned, but Nora and pancakes are always a way to take you back to the first volume. Remember, when Jaune decided to suck it up and take Pyrrha up on her offer to help train him, just before he asked her help, she asked him to join them for pancakes and that there wasn't any more syrup and that he could "thank Nora for that."
Barbara Dunkleman, the voice actress of Yang, is well known among the employees at RT as being a jokester who loves one-liners, puns, and dad jokes. That's why they added so many in the series for her, as well as accentuating it in Chibi.
The shopkeep is the final boss of the whole show. Calling it now 🤣

I left this in the breakdown list obviously, but I do recommend you take the time to finish S1 of Chibi before jumping into V4.
Also, I bunched them together in the same list, but the 4 WORs prior to Chapter 1 and the character short together are less than 20 minutes in total so there’s no reason not to get all five done in one pre weekend video and make things easier when you do get started.
As far as the batch itself, a couple things to clear up on:
The TV reporter, Lisa Lavender, who also appears in the main show, is voiced by the same VA who performs for Pyrrha. You can actually hear it if you listen closely.
The reason Shopkeep kicks Nora out of the arcade is she’s Nora. She broke the place.
The skit of Pyrrha getting startled by Nora has become one of the most (in)famous memes in the RWBYVerse, entitled “Pyrrha’s Unholy Scream” and is frequently used as a GIF - particularly when someone predicts what’s going to happen in the main show.
The skit involving the shadow people is a call back to Volume 1 when all the non essential characters were all silhouettes and not animated. CRWBY used parts from the main character models to create the shadow people, which is why Ruby said “some of them look like us…”
Obviously, the stage play at the end is a nod to Ruby’s inspiration of Little Red Riding Hood, but it also breaks the fourth wall more by calling her a Mary Sue character: a young female character, uncharacteristically free of weaknesses, and usually overpowered. Which was going around a lot after her silver eyes stunt at the end of Volume 3. Basically Chibi is funny but it’s also doing everything with a wink and a nod because they can do things here the main show would never try.
In short, take one more weekend of Chibi and then proceed, you deserve the relaxation. Personally I’d say V4 is a little less intense than V3 (how could it not be), but there’s still going to be plenty to uncover and figure out. 🙂

1st and more importantly: Blakes book, a tale of a man with two souls. She was reading that in the 2nd episode, talking about how the two souls fought over control of the man.....that can't POSSIBLY come up later in the show as foreshadowing, can it?
2nd, and more funny, the last scene with Blake "eating" Yang really appeals to the 12 year old version of myself, considering how "close" they are to each other.
