You’ve probably already talked to your wedding planner about this but as a wedding planner I highly recommend Kelsey’s idea of getting introduced for your grand entrance and going directly into your first dance! This way all eyes are on you and they can transition into band playing after your first dance and dinner can start!!
I was having that same thought :) other people shouldn't start dancing until after their special song/dance anyway, so no awkwardness at all. the band introduces them, their song starts to play and the band can just chill while it is going on. when their song ends and the claps and cheers are going on, the band transitions the moment by starting to play (one of your upbeat picks) and inviting everyone to come join the newlyweds on the dance floor and get the party started. the energy changes from just you two focused on your love and your moment, to upbeat we love you all let's go... then just when you feel people need a break from the pumpin' dance beats, time to slow it down for the parent dances. congratulations. you two are so sweet and functional together.
The travel drink cups (to bring on the dance floor) can have your names and the date on it as in a party favor. I got stemless wine glasses from a friends wedding that said “Matthew and Katelin 8.6.22” but I like the non-breakable cups with lids and straws idea!

I was a kid and didn’t know it was there and I was dancing barefoot (because I was like 8 and had uncomfortable shoes) and cut up my foot pretty badly. the silly cups are such a fun and funny way to avoid all the issues!

I’ve seen the brides parents give a speech at the wedding like the dad walks down with the bride and he speaks after giving the bride away and then the mom right after 🫶 thought it was so sweet! The grooms parents gave a speech at the reception!
K so this is what we did at our wedding processional: Love by Lana Del Rey, bride entrance and walk: Concerning Hobbits from LOTR, signing: Lovebug by the Jonas Brothers, recessional: Wouldn’t It Be Nice by The Beach Boys We did our introduction as bride and groom right before dinner when we entered into the reception for the first time to One More Time by Daft Punk. All the speeches bridal party speeches were during the dinner and parents speeches were back to back during dessert. The head table had to be cleared for the dance floor so we did our first dance to 10,000 emerald pools after dessert, then did a combo father/daughter son/mother dance to you’ve got a friend in me. We only danced to that for like 1 min and then invited everyone on the dance floor and it turned into party time We also just did standard vows at the ceremony and then scooted off alone during cocktail hour to do personal vows and photos by a waterfall. Highly recommend the secluded personal vows. So much less awkward lol
hi, my names riley and i work at a wedding venue. by no means am i an expert but ive worked in basically all departments at the venue, kitchen, floor, bar and bridal. usually the weddings we host go something like this. everyone rocks up for the ceremony, then afterwards the bridal party and BG head off by themselves while all the guests have canapeis and get drinks. next everyone usually sits down for the entrance of the bridal party and the bride and groom, this bit is usually alot of fun and very loud, after which everyone will have entrees. (even if theres a live band usually theres just snippets of songs played as they enter and then the band will kick in after the first dance) while theyre eating entrees, theres either the first speaches or the BG first dance, followed by 30 mins of dancing and drinking. you can play your specific song then, after which the band can take over the for the partying. mains is usually then served and while people are eating the speaches take place or are fuinished off, followed by the mother father dance, and the bridal party dance. its usually finished with everyone on the dance floor and deserts are served while everyone is up. speaches are always good if they arnt taken to seriously, but its nice to say a few memorable things at the end. i love the sippy cup idea, and you can put them on each persons positions around the tables, maybe in nice boxes or something so there arent hundreds of maccas cups in the background of the photos. either that or you can give them to the bar and they can serve drinks in them. weddings are a celebration so everyone has come for a good time. if you guys are having fun, so will everyone else. was watching when you posted about taco tuesday girl over 4 years ago and am still watching now. please make sure you visit australia again coz id love to see you all.

Like they were friends before they did the Podcast. However, I think they’re trying to keep it seperate because they have a business together and doing business with friends is always tricky. They have undeniable chemistry, I think they’d be closer friends if they didn’t have a business together.
