I make mini and large picture albums from scratch. One thing I've found in my struggles to make my albums "right" is that I use the largest size paper I can when I stick my chipboard covers down. It is easy to cut off extra paper it is extremely difficult to add paper on when one finds that they are short around the edges. I watched yesterday's video right B4 watching this one. I'm glad it didn't take you months or years to learn bigger papers make for happier crafter. I really enjoy learning from your videos; even though I make albums and you make journals, they are both art and it is fun to learn.
I’m so happy for you Ceri ! ❤ I can hear the relief?, satisfaction? in your voice. I love that you posted the first one and didn’t scrap it. We need to see the mistakes to learn from them. Your new book is precise & wonderful! 🎉
I'm so happy for you, Ceri. What a difference a day makes, indeed. It looks wonderful. Thank you for showing both videos because there is so much to learn from both. ❤🫂
Ceri your "horribly wrong" is a work of art in my mind - but I appreciate you have a certain level of expectation in your mind. You are amazing that you share so much with us in your creative journey. 😄 Sleep well.
I watched the previous video, enjoyed your process and journal. Personally I was thinking "why is Ceri so upset? It looks good to me, I would use it". Then I watched this process........ Sorry you had a sleepless night for your Art, the "re-do/part 2" was definitely worth it. I am chuffed to bits for you 😊
Hi Ceri! I just watched this video and had not watched the previous one. This was a fantastic video to show all the steps to make the concertina that is so beautiful as well as nice and square and folds lovely too. Your cover is so gorgeous! I know I have had to do a practice round more times than I can count…lol. This one is so stunning and I thank you for doing it. 😁
Wow, now that I see this video I can see the total difference in the two. This one is fantastic! I liked the other one too, but I sure did this one is way better!
Take Two! So much easier Ceri, glad you redid it and are happy with it, it would have bugged you for sure. Thanks for showing us and look forward to seeing your art filling it 😊
I’m amazed to be witness of this process from caos to order. In the words of the sonnet of Francisco Luis Bernardez “What the tree has in bloom lives of what it has buried”❤
Absolutely LOVE IT! The JOY in your voice is "icing on the cake"! Thank you, Ceri! Well done!! Beautiful book! Can't wait to see what will be created inside!!
You were right! The second attempt is much better and reflects your high standards! You have the patience of Jobe! I learned so much from these videos and cannot wait for the March challenge! Thank you Ceri!
Thank you for remaking the video, and keeping the one in that you considered a fail. You showed all of us you are true to your customers even when the customer is you. 😊
oh my, you make me giggle! "It's because I keep doing it the same way every time" Love the way this turned out, and I'm glad I watched both videos before attempting one myself! Thank you❤
I’m so glad you were able to make such a successful re-do 🤩. All the math yesterday made my brain hurt 🤯, it’s no wonder you got a bit lost. But the version 2.0 looks wonderful 🥰.
Happy Sunday dear Ceri! Ah yes, I’m thankful you left yesterday’s video up. And then to redo it and show each step is fabulous. Such a difference! No frustration today eh? Looks so good. Thanks for taking us along , big hugs have a blessed day 🙏💙
Thank you Ceri for this update video. It tells us how we should make a concertina book, the correct way, not just how we think we can. 😊 look forward to seeing you fill the pages. 😊
Now that’s more like a Ceri-creation! I’ve had so many days like your previous day and just had to step away and breathe 😅. Thank you for sharing a before and after experience…perseverance leads to success!
I'll be glad to take that first one off your hands! LOL!!! So glad you shared that, I probably would not have thought about the final result until too late. I can't believe how you made another set of cover sheets so perfectly like the first ones. Gorgeous! Love how it turned out.
Im so glad you showed both video's because i have had the same problem getting the pages to line up. So thank you for sharing this process and taking the time to do it again with us. I think the end product is beautiful. 😊
Hi Ceri, Your first method of hinging will work if you put the hinge on the oposit side every other page. You can still score on the same side just turn the paper 180 degrees with every other page. That way you will have the hinges on both sides not just one. I hope that makes sence. I am so happy that you showed us that we all makes misstakes. I look forward to see what you and others will make in March. Hugs, Erika in Sweden
Yes both videos make a good lesson. It's a great book. I'm a bit nervous about what will go into it but OK.... still looking forward to the "challenge" - a lot of fun it shall be....! Thx
Fantastic. I know that feeling of relief and been there done that. I have a few covers in a drawer that did not make the cut. So glad you shared both processes. Yay To you! Hugs from TEXAS! ❤
Absolutely fabulous........ I think you've nailed it! Congratulations and I'm so pleased this go around seemed to go smoother. 🎉 That gel print..... I am going to hold a class for me this coming week and let you teach me how to make this beautiful print. ❤
HURRAH! Well done my dear.... this method may be a bit more time consuming but the results speak for themselves. Now you have the book that makes you happy and I'm very proud of you my friend. BIG HUGS xxxx
Hi Ceri! I like how the pages line up together! Good job!! As far as Art Glitter Glue, it does the same things to me!! (I'm in South Carolina in the US>) Pressure builds up in the bottle & it leaks under the cap. Just take the cap off & relieve the pressure. And when you refill it, it'll send bubbles up the top! It'll eventually quit after it goes down a bit!! I still love it, even though it can be temperamental!!
I love your gelli prints and completed book! I watched part of the first video and will watch the rest. I think I would find glueing the hinge on the stacked pages a little awkward. It looked fiddly. I’ll have to give it a try. I discovered you have a video for the gelli prints. Yippee!
Ceri, sometimes AGG (art Glitter Glue) can get a vacuum effect when refilling the bottle or just opening it and closing it again. When that happens to me, I slightly loosen the cap until it stops gushing glue while not using it. Hope that is the issue and not a hole in the bottle. I love the journal.
REJOICE IN THE JOY OF A WELL MADE PROJECT! Ceri, you have shown us that with perseverance a solution will be found. After your video yesterday, i went researching on how concertina books are made and I kind of went down a rabbit hole 😅. One method I found was to use painters tape as the hinges. I think that I will give it a try. I struggled with weather I would participate this year in #MixedMediaMarch2025 as I am in the process of packing up my art studio to be ready to move into my new studio when it is finished being built, but have decided to keep a bar minimum of supplies out so I can take part. I remember how much fun it was last year. The idea of using a concertina art journal has really sparked an interest for me-so I will more than likely do a version of a concertina book also.
Ceri, Thanks for both of the videos. I had the same problems, until I realized... #1 fold the 1" side(hinge), #2 then fold your page in half,(to meet the other side like you did). #3 add you next page to the OUTSIDE of your initial (1") hinge, not on the inside of your flap (hinge). I hope you understand this. If not, maybe I can try emailing with pictures.
Ceri, remember done is better than perfect! Take a deep breath and work on! This is supposed to be fun! I do understand being a perfectionist, but I think you were being a little too hard on yourself in the previous video. Glad you got it to work this time.
Now I know why my 1st attempt was wonky. It was worse, in two directions. I just played with it anyway. I like the quirkiness. I like both of yours but agree the 2nd is more prof. The 1st is a good technique/play journal.

Great 2nd video. Loved watching both of them.

Such a nice, clear, polished video. Thank you.
I watched both videos and learned from both of them! I love this cover! Thank you Ceri! ❤
Ceri your "horribly wrong" is a work of art in my mind - but I appreciate you have a certain level of expectation in your mind. You are amazing that you share so much with us in your creative journey. 😄 Sleep well.
I agree. It was perfect enough for me. Sweet dreams tonight.
I watched the previous video, enjoyed your process and journal. Personally I was thinking "why is Ceri so upset? It looks good to me, I would use it". Then I watched this process........ Satisfying! You will enjoy working in it and we will enjoy witnessing that. xoxo
Mutt and Jeff. One wonky; one pristine. Your book is precise and beautiful. Enjoy every stroke you put it into it.
Yay! I appreciate your doing that again and doing it right. It’s a good lesson for all of us.
Take Two! So much easier Ceri, glad you redid it and are happy with it, it would have bugged you for sure. Thanks for showing us and look forward to seeing your art filling it 😊

Your perseverance paid off. You created a perfect journal. Thanks for the great tutorial.
Ceri, excellent job in explaining how you made your Concertina art journal. Your love what and it shows. Thanks for sharing Ceri, enjoy your day.
So nice. We can learn from our mistakes
I’m so glad you were able to make such a successful re-do 🤩. All the math yesterday made my brain hurt 🤯, it’s no wonder you got a bit lost. But the version 2.0 looks wonderful 🥰.
Beautiful work!!! And from the one yesterday, the materials can still be used!!!
Oh definitely Wendy, nothings going to waste.
Happy Sunday dear Ceri! Ah yes, I’m thankful you left yesterday’s video up. And then to redo it and show each step is fabulous. Such a difference! No frustration today eh? Looks so good. Thanks for taking us along , big hugs have a blessed day 🙏💙
The gel prints are delightful.

Great! tutorial and remake! How wonderful that you have a beautiful book you made, and will be able to enjoy putting moe of your art into.
I love your attitude. Not much lost. Just do it again.❤
Now that’s more like a Ceri-creation! I’ve had so many days like your previous day and just had to step away and breathe 😅. Thank you for sharing a before and after experience…perseverance leads to success!
I'm so happy for you. That seemed to go a lot easier than yesterday. I just love your cover pages. So excited to see what you do in March❤
Thank you so much

Very good work! Impressive! I enjoy all your videos, listening to you talk, and seeing the outcome of your art! Thank you!
I have had similar trouble with concertina pages myself...I will be doing them differently now. Thank you so much.
Great video. The paper is stunning!!

Hi Ceri, I'm glad your back, I'm interested in how it goes.

First one sounded a complete disaster. 😂 we’ve been doing book making in my arts and crafts class, and I’ve leant such a lot from this.
💕🤗
Well done!
