Being faster and easier to clean is exactly what I’m looking for. This will
be my next spray gun. I love the idea of the mesh filter in the hopper too!
It really is a great all around gun. Appreciate the comment and support!
Thank you for the review be a while until I get in to these guns but would like to try it out one day if I get a chance thanks for sharing
Thank you for demo on 3M performance gun. If I go on I will prefer interchangeable tips.
Great video 🙌🏿🙌🏿
Great review. This setup will be great for a DIYer or weekend warrior who doesn't want to buy clear, base and primer gun. The easy clean up is good feature as well. Thanks
I think so as well. It's good for the production painter as well cause it really does save alot of time.
That's exactly what I am buying it for. I have some small jobs to do on my 67 mustang. This should give me a great finish for my engine bay and rear trunk to blend.
I really like this 3M gun 1.3 for base and 1.2 for clear coat having great paint job I get it for free at my paint store supplier as a good customer👍👌
Get me one 😆
I just had mine delivered. I will be spraying VP 2050. I’m restoring a truck in my garage at home and liked the fact that I can buy one gun that will work with my primer and not have to buy multiple guns.
It real is a great gun. I don't use it enough need to break it out for some more videos. Appreciate the support brother!
I need to check mine again. I think they forgot the regulator.
Unfortunately after using a sata RP, or A devilbiss pro lite you'll find this gun twice as slow, think it will be great, for homeowner good job on video, ty
Your right but you'll find it makes up for that in versatility an clean up time. I don't personally mind that it's a bit slower some pros will tho.
Thanks for great video, the R500 is a good gun for the home garage odd jobs with limited compressor capacity would you say this gun would be good as well.
Thanks 🙏
It's a fantastic paint gun. Consumes more air than the r500 but less than other guns. I wouldn't say it's ideal to use with a small compressor but is a great preforming gun. Appreciate the comment and support!
@@GarageNoise How many gallons would you say someone would need for a home 120v 2HP (5.8cfm @90, 8.4cfm @40) compressor to either paint parts or a whole car. The duty is 70% so it can run for 40 minutes before it needs a break. So far I have enough Aux tanks attached for around 40 gallons.
How long would it take to paint? I imagine it is possible but I would need to take breaks to avoid dips in static pressure. Would using the A610 provide a similar outcome for less money. Are there pros/cons between this and the R500 LVLP options?
Great video but, I have a cuestión honestly this gun is better than europro HE or IWATA KIWAMI4 I am painting my first car at home thanks to your videos, I decided to do it thanks
I would say it's definitely more versatile. Weather it's better or not is subjective. I love it because it's simple to clean and does everything. Thank's for the support!
Thanks for the answer bro
Dude... looks very nice. Aint afraid about incomming insects ruin your pretty work due to the open door ? Greets from germany
Always on the look out for the biggins. Only an issue at dusk
I'm not throwing away my Iwata SuperNovas to buy this but I'm retired now and I don't give a shit if it takes me 1 minute or 10 minutes to clean my sprayguns as time doesn't matter to me. If I worked in a production shop this would be appealing as time is money there. Secondly, I normally now spray complete cars and this gun is Iwata LPH400-LV slow which is a super gun it's just too slow for completes. If you're just doing a panel here and there that's not that big of a deal. If you're trying to keep the entire car wet this isn't the way to go. For that you need something that pumps it out like a SATA, Iwata or DeVilbiss. The Sagola 4600 is pretty fast as well. So, as with most things in life, it all depends.
You got a good gun, I dig the Iwata. This gun is a cool concept and they've done a great job with it. Love my Sagola and devilbiss but this cleans so easily very appealing in my situation. Thank's for the feedback.
Is this a better than the iwata kawami4 , for an all in one gun primer base clear . I’m painting my s2000,
For an all in one gun yes I think so but you have to use 3m 2.0 disposable cup .
My new gun just arrived...so why am I watching this video? I should be spraying primer...hoping this is as much of an upgrade over the Accuspray as everyone says! (I chose to upgrade instead of stocking up on consumables for the Accuspray....)
I think it's a good move, let me know what you think.
Just thought I would mention this so no one has to find out the hard way let me I did. Those PPS cups are great if Your using fairly thin material, but if spraying metal flake or heavier material like some primers or high build, REMOVE those screens in the lids.
Have you had problems with any OEM colors? Or is is more customer coarser metallics. Good to know, appreciate the input and thanks for the support!
@@GarageNoise no problem with oem, the problems I had was with single stage fine metallic and with 2K high build. The screens in the lids will not allow these materials to flow fast enough for continuous flow on larger panels. I don’t know what size filters come with the 3m sprayers (150 or 200 micron) but the 200’s would not flow enough for continuous spray for me. I was ready to toss my new Black Widow until I figured it out! I love the PPS system, just had to figure out this problem.
Will these do good with a small compressor? Say a 27 gal?
It use less air that most guns. It calls for 24psi for clear . A 27 gallon compressor is probly a little small . Can you get away with it if your painting a couple parts? yes, probably. If your doing a overall , that would be frustrating. You will be starved for air and that will cause all sorts of challenges. Hope this helps thank's for watching!
Thoughts on this spray gun vs another brand like iwata in let's say a $400 or under price range?
Honestly, I would take the 3m performance . Super easy to clean and more versatile than a conventional gun. Its performs just as well. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
@@GarageNoise thanks bud for the help, it appears most professional painters all agree and have recommended it to me for a good all purpose gun. You put a lot of effort into these videos and sharing your knowledge to the inexperienced as myself, I can truly appreciate it.
@@coloradodirtbike5930 appreciate the comment and supporting the channel!
What's the difference between this gun and previous edition with the series one cup? And can you still get the older series one ?
I like the accuspray which is the previous series. This one sprays better. Lays clear down much nicer.
@@GarageNoise can you still get the older one and their replacement tips?
@@FE428Power as far As I know yes. Amazon has them
Is that Gtix gun spray 🤔
3m performance
What air compressor are you using with this gun?
Ingersoll rand 60 gal 16cfms
@@GarageNoise thanks. That’s a pretty high end and great compressor.
Have you shot primer through it ?
Yes, spays primer great!
What size tip and PSI do you have good results with high build primer?
I got a 60g compressor I just used the evot 13 and I got a lot of dry spot s on the hood I was at 23-25 psi why
I don't know what an evot 13 is but for clear most guns use 29 PSIG WITH THE TRIGGER PULLED (that's critical not optional). Now a lot of home gamers know this but they try to use lower pressures anyway because they can't handle the overspray. Well, life's a bitch and then you die. The cause of your problem is too little fluid flow. Either you've got the fluid control knob in to much or not enough air pressure. Physics is physics, if you want the gun to work you must use it as it was designed. People worry about runs, so they turn the fluid knob down (in) well runs are caused normally by bad atomization. If the droplets are small enough and there are enough of them typically runs aren't an issue.
Yes, open up you fluid and do a test spray . Also if it's very hot where your at make sure you have the right temp activator. If your getting dry spray and your technique is right. I would try just opening up the volume a bit that should take care of it.
@@GarageNoise it's 80 in my garage and it's basecoat not clear
Medium activator
Ok , more volume see how that works keep air pressure the same.
20 psi Chris really? I can't get mine past 12 psi the dial on gauge on gun says so and I've got 100 psi on the filter gauges any suggestions mate
I think your gun gauge might be malfunctioning. I doubt it's the gun, something going on with regulators.
I had the same problem. You need to increase your air fitting/ hose size. You are restricting volume
Hi, were you able to find a fix for this? If so, how did you resolve it?
Has anyone been able to figure this out? Was it the air fitting or hose size?
Did you reduce the clear a little and run 1.3 yet?
I've never reduced my clear. I may try it eventually tho. I've used the 1.3 and like it. I really haven't got to use this gun alot lately but it's a great gun.
Substrate is the surface. Not the spray material.
Yes,you're right
How can u paint in ur shop and not get trash in ur paint!?!? I struggle with this lol
Horizontal panels are going to get some trash. Most trash comes from you or the car. Making sure you blow out all the ares on a car that debris may come from when your painting helps alot. Make sure your masking job is tight and smooth. You may try a static elimination product.
@@GarageNoise awesome thanks!
I always thought it came from the floor lol
@@BossPainter oh it can, if you hit the floor with air.
You can only take steps to minimize the trash, just a fact of life.
