- New recruit shows Casey what he's made of.
Season 4 Episode 3 "I Walk Away"
51 receives a call in the same troubled neighborhood of a man with a crushed foot which leads into the wife of the victim giving Boden evidence of the previous incident that could clear Boden's name. Meanwhile, candidate Jimmy Borrelli's (guest star Steven R. McQueen) brother meddles in trying to get him moved into a different house. Dawson looks into an arson investigation that puts Boden in hot water. Also, Brett gets attached to a previous call. Dawson suddenly suffers from abdominal pain and collapses.

Elevators are actually extraordinarily safe due to all of the safeguards built into them. I think there's only been something like 1 real elevator accident (ever) and that was due to severe neglect.

I got stuck in one for an hour and didn't use one for 2 years but this was when I was 11
@ 5:45 in the scene where the dad said, "I will go last." That is the epitome of a great father and husband who puts his family first before himself. In this scene, the father knew that Casey was the trained professional who would save his wife and daughter. As such, he was willing to risk himself knowing that the firefighter would be able to save his family. KUDOS to such an exemplary man!

time passes by quite quick 15 mins to go assess the situation 30 for a janitor to go inspect maybe they called in a elevator tech who knows theese lifts have issues all the time small ones thats no fuss and there back up and running in under a hour
i do however wonder why no one realised the elevator ropes were snapped untill now presumably the alarm panel should have been going nuts telling them that they had snapped seen as the elevator knows if the cars too heavy so would definatley know if suddenly it lost all weight then theres the counter weight if that didnt have a breaking system youd definatley hear that come crashing down

My anxiety levels went through the roof. I know it's a show but I met a firefighter about a week ago and I have so much respect for them.

whats there to be scared of? ok the ropes snapped but the elevator was held tight in spot its never going anywhere all that ominous creaking and wiggling is just tv drama the industry has gotten to the point now where as long as your using the lift in a normal manner (not riding ontop or opening the doors manually) then theres nothing to worry about

Fr. Even tho he just had to hold a pole, he had to hold it really sturdy so they could hold on to it. That's a really intense situation

He was new. It would have also been hot in that part of the elevator. The others are used to dealing with fire and were completely trained to deal with stressful situations.
Him holding the pole was a way of 'life support' he drops it or it slips from his hands, the mother and possibly father would have been dead.
This is why I have a phobia of lifts
the thing i hate most is having a room with loads of walls and then just this one wall that has a giant hole thats like a 50 feet drop, it makes me feel so uncomfortable

It’s sad that some actors will never be able to out live a roll. We get it, he played Mason Lockwood. We get it, he played Jeremy Gilbert. Just enjoy the new character his playing. cause a wire was broken so if they tried another could have snapped or all of them because it doesnt have that extra support

This is dumb. Seriously, how hard would it have been to throw a rope over one of the EASILY ACCESSIBLE beams at 6:09, then throw a simple rescue harness over everybody? Not to mention the only person who NEEDED to get out was the girl. They should have simply taken the girl, left the mom and dad, then went back with PROPER planks and gotten them out in a more safe, controlled manner later. The elevator isn't going anywhere.
