The tune "TOM DEVIL" was collected at Parchman Farm, Mississippi State Penitentiary, by Shirley Collins and Alan Lomax in 1959. We've been doing it as "tea devil" in our set for awhile, it's one of our faves...a real sturdy warhorse. We take shirley's comment on it with deep reverence:- "slow, stereo - good harmony"! This duo exchange of MV & EE action was recorded live during our residency at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn, NY on 2/17/2014, 1st set. Our original version is on the LP "Country Stash" (3 lobed recordings).
