The performance of Finn Russell surely silenced the moaning pundits calling him too much of a risk to go on tour never mind play.
Russell caused more problems for the Boks in the 1st ten minutes on the pitch than anyone else had in all 3 tests.
If only Liam Williams had set Adams loose wed have won the series on Saturday.

What about Curry???? Everyone remembers Liam Williams what Curry did to prevent Ken Owens scoring was appalling. Completely overrated player
@@jaypw321 his penalty count was telling as was Englands under pressure in the 6N What he done on the 2nd lineout try was unnecessary and very costly but after the clamour in the media to play Williams his greed was more obvious and significant. Had he put Adams in to score it would have changed the Boks outlook on defence and made it very clear that with Price/Russell playing quick ball outside costing them scores they could no longer depend on mopping up high kicks from Biggar/Murray eg 2nd test or winning turnovers when a rare line break by Henshaw or such lacked support.
Im not sure Curry is overrated though. He certainly isnt at the level he was 2 years ago but i think he played best when beside Underhill during the WC year. I would have had Hamish Watson in front of him all day long or Tipuric had he been involved simply on this years 6N if nothing else. Im not sure AWJ should have been playing either and cant understand Gatlands not playing Beard, Henderson or Beirne in any of the tests from the start.
The B&I lads can hold their heads up high - they could've won the series right up to the last minute. They all put their bodies on the line, nobody shirked responsibilities, they all left everything on the field, and any other time the Lions would be sharing the series or they'd be winners overall. I've become a big fan of most of these Lions players, and just like with the Boks, if there's any criticism of the game plan, it's to be aimed at the coaches, not the players. Also nice to see lads from both teams smiling at the end, fuckin hell they deserve a break after all that quarantine time!

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I quite enjoy the SA game plan to be honest.... there are many ways to win a game of rugby, that's the beauty of it.

Gatland picked a squad whose strengths he never used in the Tests, at least until it was too late. Great videos, which these are, are not enough to redeem the betrayal of a Lions reputation built on gutsy, but exciting & expansive rugby.
That was what was so hard to stomach, not losing, but the fact that we barely fired a shot.
Totally right. People saying the likes of Hogg and Anthony Watson played poorly, when in fact they weren't given the damn ball to do their thing with and were instead left to handle high balls all day long.

Negative rugby cost us the series, the first test we showed they were vulnerable on the outside but never took advantage on it, thank god it’s Gatlands last tour but thank you media team for the great videos over the tour
Absolutely agree. I'm so pleased that in 30 minutes Finn has re writtten the history books, and the Lions must never allow the likes of Gatland to darken our doors again.Massive respect to the boks, deserved victors.

I think Finn has expressed that perfectly in 30 undeniable minutes. The whole world just needs to re watch that first half, it is all there! Never again. This is a New Zealander who has lost his soul, has valued pragmatism over imagination, and was incredibly lucky to inherit a resurgence in Welsh rugby. If Gatland is in charge for the next Lions series, I will support Australia.

Thank you all for the ultimate test episodes they were amazing the work the effort the training everything unlucky Lions keep the heads high you should all be so proud of yourselves all of you were fantastic awesome outstanding throughout the tour and you may not have had the fans at the stadiums but the support you all got from fans back home are all so proud of you all. The best part of any lions tour is making friends and memories.

Curry made several silly errors in the tests. Great player but people seem to think he’s infallible. Also why the fuck are they interviewing ken owens just after losing the decider? Could you not wait for a while?
Is it hugely disappointing? It was ambiguous.
Barry John, Dan Carter, Phil Bennett, Johnny Sexton, Beauden Barrett, Carlos Spencer, Richie Mo'unga, John Rutherford, Danny Cipriani, and now Finn Russell! I have probably missed a few, but anyway, Finn is now in the top tier of creative 10s who play what they see, and are too observant to do anything else but throw away the Gatland prayer book/ .bore book/ cynical "win at all costs"/ robotic/anti rugby travesty.
Total respect due to all the Players and backroom staff! Thank you for all your hard work!
PS. If any Lions "staff" or media team are reading these, please tell Jason Leonard to get rid of Gatland! Not only did he lose his bottle re; tactics, he threw Russell under the bus with his snidey comments after 3rd Test! That's the sort thing we've come to expect from EJ, but is totally unbecoming of a Lions head coach!

What about Curry preventing Ken Owens second try??? Surely that was just as bad in fact worse because he gave a penalty away as well as stopping the try

Who could have done any better than he did in the 3 tests? It doesnt matter whos on the wing if the ball isnt being played wide by the 10. That never happened all 3 tests till Russell came on.
He deserved his place more than many did and if the Lions had played it out wide from the start then a more open game could have seen the Boks defence shown to be far from impenetrable.
At least next time in Australia we can expect to see 2 teams playing the right way especially if Townsend is in charge.
