      Ankle tap chases. You're only allowed 10 meters to chase down a player. Player with the ball runs towards tackler who can't turn and chase until attacking player runs past them. Most of the chases are three steps and dive. Super fun!

    It really is a shame that we don't embrace rugby....we have the size speed and strength but not the heart! For every 1000 kids who play baseball-football or basketball you might find one who plays rugby!!

      USA is the United States of America, people from the USA are called Americans. There isn’t another word used to refer to us. There aren’t any other countries in North or South America with America in their country’s name, so i don’t see why this is a problem

      But we used to sprint to the line and then jog back,they just jogged. But we only did it once,22yd line , halfway,3/4 line and finally full length

    I played rugby 19 years in South Africa but by 24 I couldn't continue due to injuries...

    American school kids should go study abroad for a year in New Zealand / South Africa and play school rugby. When they return home, that experience is invaluable !!!

      Assuming they're good enough to make one of the school teams down here... and one year isn't going to be long enough. Although, even if they play 5th team at a good rugby school they might still learn something

      Even if they play for smaller schools, the experience gained from playing against others that live for the sport, is invaluable. Smaller schools in NZ, Eng and SA are still better than 90%+ of what is available in the US.
