I notice a pattern with Sky Sports and TalkSport. Newcastle win a game and they talk negatively about us. It happened after the Spurs, Southampton and Forest games. I can’t remember the last time they had anything positive to say about Newcastle.

Eddie Howe is keeping the he dressing room in a very positive mindset and thats the reason we are winning even without playing at our best .. All will be okay, biggest challenge would be to keep the key players fit...
This Mitchell bloke has to go. His slagging off previous transfers is utterly pointless as well as not backed by facts. Newcastle had to buy a handful of players initially when Howe came in so as to stay in the division. They included Dan Burn, Bruno, Trippier and Chris Wood. All of them did well. Wood was subsequently sold on at a small loss. They then signed Isak, Botman and Gordon all of whom have been big successes. Alongside this Howe massively improved several other players, Almiron, Murphy, Longstaff; Schar, Joelinton. No signing has been a failure other than the Tonali situation where it seemed Milan may have pulled a fast one. Hopefully Tonali will now come good though. Mitchell seems to resent Eddie Howe for some reason. The only window in which Mitchell has been in post was the last one which was poor in that most signings were a bit underwhelming and done on the cheap though Lloyd Kelly for free is good business. Newcastle had their pants pulled down over the Guehi situation and were made to look silly by Parrish at Palace. Not sure how that reflected on Howe so much as Mitchell and the other who were in the recruitment team
Well said 👏 however Howe is also to blame for the Guehi fiasco. It was clear he was the only CB Howe wanted. Instead of wasting weeks on trying to get him, we should have turned our attention to other targets.
I think Eddie was entitled to name his target. Guehi fitted the bill as a quick CB who is comfortable on the ball. Having freed up funds from the Anderson and Minteh sales we should have moved quicker on the deal and making four bids was a farce. We were too slow and by the time Palace had let Anderson go to Fulham then Palace couldn’t afford to lose Guehi as well. I feel if Staveley and Ashworth were still there they’d have got that piece of business done, just as they did with Gordon, Isak and Bruno.
Always great to see good analysis and banter in the studio, funny how its so natural without any diversity hire pundits just proper ex pros and a good host

Merson giving Howe credit for not waiting to 60m and committing to changes at half time, when Howes MO is usually to wait till 60!

Merson clearly doesn't watch Newcastle much, Howe rarely makes changes.
Newcastle transfers have been 2nd to none before Paul Mitchell come. Not sure what He's is talking about ..most are worth double what we paid .
Dunno what Merson is on about. Most weeks he is defo a "wait until 60 minutes to make changes" manager.

Because he's a good talent spotter.
