Therese, look at you in 2014, already rockin' our crafty world with your brilliance! So pretty - glad the ladies at CAS Mix Up challenge shared this video - can you believe I hadn't seen this one?? Must have been living under a rock back then! xx
I think I'm up to 900 videos now.... I got a 'certificate' emailed to me recently and I had no idea. So grab a coffee, it may take a while to work through the old ones.... and you may need the coffee to stay awake lol.
Eight years ago you had Prismacolour pencils and even then your colouring was beautiful. Here us yet another technique I didn't know about. I love this card, relatively simple and absolutely gorgeous. Thank you, Therese.🤗🇨🇦🤗
Wow, this video is 8 years old and I somehow missed it, but for some reason it popped up in my feed today. And on top of that I’ve seen people emboss with dies, but never with an embossing folder…this is AWESOME!!! There’s always something new to learn and I LOVE it!!! TYFS (8years ago!!!) 💕
I didn't remember Julie showing this technique, so I'm really glad you shared it with us! Your card is absolutely gorgeous too, Therese! Thanks so much for the video!
Hi Therese. Just letting you know we shared your video at CAS Mix Up Challenge and I made a card with this technique. Thanks so much for your video, this was new to me and I love it!
What a beautiful card and awesome technique. I just became a subscriber of yours today and this is 2nd video I've watched (the first one was the inlaid dies with the word "happy"). I love the white on white and touches of color. Beautiful!!!!
Thanks for the video. I never knew that u could do that with your embossing folders and dies. Thanks for the tip. I definitely am going to try it out soon. I will probably try it out on a video as well. Thanks for everything.
Hi Terese, I have used dies to emboss before but have never thought of using an embossing folder with it. This looks great. A shame I dont have much in the way of solid dies. Regards Liz
Yes, mostly I appreciate that the dies aren't solid, but for techniques like this ..... I was wondering if we could protect the area with a die cut piece (or two) of cardstock within it as we emboss....
What a brilliant technique!!! I must try this, first need to find my embossing mat.....Your card is so beautiful and love the way you coloured with the pencils. Maybe I should try pencils first instead of Copics, they seem as if they would be more patient with my lack of artistic ability......
To be honest if you are not confident with colouring, Prismacolor Pencils are much easier to use than Copics and would be a lot cheaper too. They are very forgiving even if, as you say 'lack artistic ability' lol. They would be my first choice and then you can venture out from there if you want. Prisma's are my 'go to' colouring tool, I've got 72 colours in one tin and can mix and match to any colour I want. ps Don't forget to leave your embossing folder open when you emboss with the die and rubber mat, can't wait to see what you create!
Hello, love the idea. I have subscribed. I have tried this, but it cuts the card even with the embossing mat. The die did have detailed lines on it. Is that the problem? I am using a big shot plus. I would like a reply please. Regards, Ann.
That's a great idea... I'll just have to do a little cleaning up first lol. I do have photos of my room from a couple of years ago at my blog (You can find the tab for it at the top of my blog page). I have changed it since then, so an updated version is probably overdue. Thanks for your lovely comments.
I think I might have that butterfly & matching die! Can’t wait to try! Do you find that your pencil crayons blend well? I've been using a brand & they are just ok. Another brand I have blends with itself but I cannot mix the two together at all. So weird.
Sorry that I missed this comment, but YES the Prismacolor pencils blend beautifully together, I either use pencil on top of pencil or a white mineral spirit like Gamsol (but they also have a blending pencil to use). If you are not sure if you want to invest they are able to be purchased separately, so you could just buy a few of your fave colours and give them a try. But it is much more economical to buy them as a set. (The Polychromos - oil based - pencils also blend beautifully - and can be bought separately, but I find the Prismas much softer and easier to blend and I prefer their colours, but they can break more easily as they are wax based). Hope this is helpful. Hugs Therese
@@Saintly2 The big thing is to try not to 'drop' them and to use a sharp sharpener (pardon the pun - it doesn't have to be an expensive one) and sharpen the pencil very slowly. Hope this helps.
I have tried this technique. I have two cutting plates, my embossing mat and I have it on no tabs. And it won't go through. What am I doing wrong? Your tips are appreciated.
Thoroughly enjoying your videos. You should have a lot more followers. I’ll be thumbing up all your older videos. Keep up the awesomeness!
You are so sweet Pam! Thank you

OMG this is AMAZING!!! I’m a card making addict and I’ve never ever seen this technique...spechless!!! Thank U much
It's an oldie but a goodie, the trouble is that not many of the dies are 'full dies' any more.... Hope you have fun with it Alexis!

Oooh embossing folder left open!!! I was closing it. I will try it. I'm sure that was the problem... Thanks!!!

Doesnt that die damage the embossing folder being that theres nothing but paper between the die and plastic folder? Im confused.

@lostinpaper Thanks, yes, helpful. I am surprised by breakage as I’m just used to school pencil crayons. I’m going to need to adjust my expectations.

Oh..I guess i didnt notice at first glance but you left the embossing folder open. That explains it for me. Lol
I have tried this technique. I have two cutting plates, my embossing mat and I have it on no tabs. And it won't go through. What am I doing wrong? Your tips are appreciated.
Are you using a Bigshot and a 'thin' die?
Have you left your embossing folder open.....?
I don't think I have one embossing mat or it's somewhere in my studio lol never I'll just buy another one I need to make that how cool
Jeanne Luddeni ... You can also try using a mouse pad cut to size.
Girl you do need a pencil sharpener!!!!!
